    T-60 kinda peeved me

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 07:17 PM PDT

I like the way the T-60 armor looks, I think it's well made and put together. My only gripe is how the retconed the entire lore in that 'it was always there'. I want the T-51B to be the pinnacle of power armor at the time of the bombs dropping. If they made it were the T-60 was a staple of the East Coast BoS in that they combined the Enclave mk.2 and their T-45 armors to create the T-60, I think that would be cool. That and the assault rifle, the assault rifle was an insult to every rifle that came before it.

TL;DR - I'm pissing and moaning how Bethesda executed the T-60 in terms of lore and wish they did something else.

    Fallout 3 is astonishingly accurate

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 12:14 PM PDT

Hi! I've lived in DC all my life, and I have to say that Fallout 3 is pretty accurate.

I am probably VERY LATE on this but I found out that Fallout 3 took place in DC so I looked it up and not only did I find my neighborhood, I found a building that was probably based off my elementary school. The metros are also very spot on and I was able to recognize almost all of them. I know almost nothing about fallout but I was just fascinated with how close it was. Some of the buildings were a bit out of place for the neighborhood, but it can't be all perfect. I don't live near any places that are usually made into video games, so it's weird to see my neighborhood in a video game.

Why did y’all side against the Institute?

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 07:10 AM PDT

I think that siding with the Institute is the best ending, but there's lots of people who disagree. Why did you personally side against them? I'm curious to see the thought process of others

Why Fallout 4's feral ghouls scare the hell out of me

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 10:05 AM PDT

For a long time, I shared the opinion a lot of people seem to have on the ghouls in Fallout 4 onwards- they just don't look nearly as scary or interesting as those in the previous games. The ones in 3 and NV look like mutated, reanimated corpses with just enough muscle tissue to run at you- but the ferals in 4 just looked weird. I couldn't really put my finger on what Bethesda were trying to do with them. That was until my second playthrough- I had just cleared Croup Manor, and was doing my civic duty of dragging the ghoul bodies out before I settled the place. I took a moment to look a little closer at the ghoul I was dragging towards the sea, and made a realization about it's skin specifically. This was not skin that had rotted, or mutated somehow. This was skin that had aged. I kept working, but that thought stuck in my head- the ghouls weren't zombies, they were just incredibly old humans. Think about anyone you've known with diseases like Alzheimer's- now imagine that decline in mental capacity and malignant confusion, extended over two centuries. Every feral you gun down is an elderly person, forced to go through the agony of age and decay forever. That scares me much more than the spooky skeletons with muscles from the previous titles.

Also, I know that going feral probably isn't caused by normal mental decay, this is just the impression I got from the feral's modern design.

Shipbreaker in fallout 4 is an absolutely fantastic quest

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 04:52 PM PDT

For those who haven't done it or have forgotten; You track down an ancient fog crawler using your pip boy to zone in on its unique energy reading caused by its prolonged radiation exposure. Essentially you track it the same way you do the courser.

You can hear it's whaling in the distance as you approach it and when you get there it's taking on anything it can fight. I doubt the double deathclaw spawn was accidental. The apex predator of the island defending it's title from all manor of creatures. I swear I put over 100 .308 rounds into it before it fell and rewarded me with a legendary maxed out Gauss rifle.

Theatrics aside the idea of hunting an ancient creature and dethroning it as the apex predator of the island is amazing. Don't know if the Gauss rifle is guaranteed, but it was a hell of a reward for a stealth rifle character

Lame NPC bug ending my whole new Vegas career

    Posted: 25 Jul 2021 04:36 AM PDT

Hi all, I am new to the game and just got to the strip and it is really awesome, except for the fact that there are no longer unnamed NPCs. While its not game breaking, I don't know if I can keep playing if what is supposedly to be the most populated post war city in Nevada has a population of 4. At first I thought it was just how it's supposed to be after reading about engine limitations but after loading saves I realized that there were no gamblers, travelers, hulking individuals or any other unnamed NPCs walking around the strip like they were when I first got there. I figured out that it is caused by me speaking to mr house, and if I don't do that they spawn as normal. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! (Also I'm on xbone 1 so unmodded)

Played fo4 long time, never beat it, stuck

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 10:28 PM PDT

I'm trying to side with the minutemen, my only quests right now are: "Raiders/ghouls/greenskins at settlement", Semper Invictus, and Battle for Bunker Hill. I have already retaken the castle (gotten artillery), and visited the institute (hence why I have battle for bunker hill). I cannot imagine that I have more of these settlement help quests I have done SO MANY of them. What am I missing here? What do I need to do to get an endgame quest with minutemen?

Why do people trust the courier so much

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 11:52 PM PDT

Now I love NV it's my favorite fallout game but people are waaaaaay to trusting of the recently hospitalized mentally unstable revenge driven mailman than they should be. It isn't like people don't know who they are, they're on the news and people can put together the dots that the person let's inside the 38 would be the lost courier, also not that it matters but what happened to the couriers old job? Did like his contract expire when he died? Also if they don't know you're the courier than can easily figure it out. For example, when you talk to Benny in the tops someone can see you figure out by what you were saying than Benny shot you recently, figure out that a courier was shot in good springs and then an unnamed figure helped a crimson caravan employee escape powder gangers in good springs. It's pretty easy to connect the dots. And Mr. house definitely knows and just doesn't care. Victor is connected to the entire house network so house knows everything that he knows. Basically, I really love New Vegas and wish more new fallout fans would play it. Also how the hell does anyone know shit about the boomers, or the brotherhood for that matter. I should stop talking.

TIL the Enclave mobile base in Fallout 3 is (sorta) real

    Posted: 25 Jul 2021 01:34 AM PDT

They're (there's two of them) a LOT smaller, but still some of the largest ground vehicles in the world. They also are not military bases, they are for transportation of rockets and space shuttles. Regardless, it is clearly a bigger version of the real crawlers because:

    A. They look a lot alike (especially the tracks and the ramp to get up)

    And

    B. The official guide says that before the war, it was used as a satellite array before the war. Who would use a satellite array? The USSA, or as it is named in our timeline, NASA. Who operates the real crawlers? NASA.

Playing 1, 2 and New Vegas again has actually taught me to appreciate Fallout 4 and 76 more

    Posted: 25 Jul 2021 04:41 AM PDT

4 and 76 (and to a lesser extent, 3) suffer from extremely poor writing when compared to the masterworks that was 1, 2 and New Vegas, but upon completing all three of those games again I have come to appreciate one factor of 4 and 76 that was sorely missing in the old games.

    Good combat.

No shit, trying to play New Vegas after 4 was like switching from playing Call of Duty to playing Contra. Everything is jarring, enemies don't give any real response to getting shot unless they take meds or die, everything is a bullet sponge, the guns are comparatively bland without customization, and the lack of legendary weapons means that 9/10 times you wont find any cool loot on enemies unless they are attached to a quest.

The first two games are in a different genre when it comes to combat so it is hard to compare them to a modern game, but even still- it gets very irritating when a turn takes half an hour because the game takes its own sweet time in moving around every single pawn on the entire map even though they are irrelevant to the fight itself.

And don't get me started on long range combat. Ranged combat in New Vegas is a fucking joke when your iconic sniper rifle, the AMR, has a 3x scope and a maximum effective range of about a hundred yards.

Does anyone know the reason behind the big junk pile under the ground by Greenetech Genetics?

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 08:22 PM PDT

Ive been sitting here for 30 minutes just getting rid of it as its causing my game to freeze whenever i get within a few blocks of Greenetech unless I'm no-clipping. And like, its just thousands of assets just stacked atop one another. Whats the purpose?

Fallout 4 keeps crashing on XBOX ONE S. No mods. All DLCs. What could be the cause/s of this? How would I fix this? Have 2possible theories noted below.

    Possible causes

    I have some dense settlements.

My Xbox is kinda old(most likely the cause)

    My first encounter with Ghouls

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 07:20 PM PDT

I bought FNV when I was 15 just based off the art on the case without knowing anything about the game or lore.

So I was about level 13 killing time in Gmorrah and decided to take all my Chems at the same time. Including night eye and Turbo.

Everything's all red and slow mo and I hear a ghoul stripper ask "Hey you wanna dance"

And I about shit myself thinking "These chems are way too strong"

Did anyone else have a weird story about the first time they encountered something?

    Mr. House's plan?

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 07:10 AM PDT

He made a lot of sense to me, initially, but at some point he starts going on about launching rockets and "head for the stars", thats when i start questioning if he was really the best choice for Mojave.

Is his end goal really just to gather enough resources and then bail the planet?

Doesn't seems like the guy to side with if you are interested in the planet, or the Mojave for that matter, resources has to come from somewhere to execute his plan.

And even though he is something of a genius, his plan does sound far-fetched in the first place, space travel ain't cheap, or easy, and he wants to reach other stars?

Three quick questions: [Fallout 4] Supply Lines, Scavenging, and Shop table income. Where does it all go??

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 10:40 PM PDT

Do supply lines go "both ways" between linked settlements? And, Where are shop money and scavenge table resources collecting? The workshops of all connected settlements? On the NPCs (why else would they have bottle caps on them?

The map shows the supply line ending in an arrow every time unless it's going through to a 3rd location. Does anyone know if it's because supplies flow in only one direction? For example: Settler X goes on his run from Drive-In to Rocket to Hangman. Right now I have lines going through multiple settlements and can't seem to figure out this system yet. From what I thought I understood. The lines themselves signify that the storage at both sites has become "one" enabling me to build.

    Disc FO to digital

    Posted: 25 Jul 2021 05:09 AM PDT

Hi, Wastelanders. I'm switching from the disc version of FO4 to digital. Never done that with any game before. Do I need to uninstall the disc before downloading? Is it better to leave the disc install alone and just download? I don't want to assume so and end up with a mess.

All my add-ons for FO4 Xbox Series S have disappeared…

    Posted: 25 Jul 2021 04:49 AM PDT

Purchased FO4 GOTY in a bundle with Skyrim on the Microsoft store two days ago.

Downloaded it all, installed it and cracked on playing. I'm about 15 hours deep and I had access to all the DLC, Far Harbor etc. and I had made some buildings with the DLC. Now everything has disappeared. The Far Harbor start point is gone off the map and I built a house with concrete panels - they have all disappeared, picture attached.

    https://imgur.com/a/7ZjU0W3

In the start menu it says all the DLC are installed.

I haven't used any mods or anything like that.

How do I get it back to normal or is my game fucked ?
