For as evil as prewar corporations were, you have to appreciate the quality of their products. Posted: 25 Jul 2021 02:49 PM PDT The Corvega Highwayman is a fully electric vehicle that can easily drive through rough terrain, can be charged with readily available power sources, and is so durable that it can be easily repaired to working condition after a hundred years sitting in the elements. Radios and televisions have their own power sources that allow them to (sometimes) be usable after centuries with no recharges or broken parts. Most vaults had terrible experiments yes, but the control vaults and the vaults with more mundane experiments saved tens of thousands from the nuclear apocalypse just as advertised, and the majority of the population two hundred years later are descended from Vault dwellers. Fusion cores can be taken from where they were dropped and used to some extent. Most packaged foods have an insane shelf life that allows them to be arguably edible after two hundred years. Rad-X and RadAway would have been so easy to be a scam like Polowski Shelters, as there wasn't much radiation to test them against, but instead they work exactly as they are intended to work and they were produced in huge quantities. The abundance of RadAway has doubtlessly saved countless lives in the wasteland. Likewise stimpacks and Med-x are a miracle and probably saved millions of lives before the war even started. Most injuries can be cured or stabilized by jabbing yourself with a needle you can keep in your pocket. Military technology is probably cheating, but still- I cant name a single piece of military issued gear in our world that could survive five years of continuous use, or even just sitting on a shelf. Power armor and laser weapons that work after two hundred years are extremely impressive products. And then there are the Robots. A General Atomics Mr. Handy can keep your house clean for two hundred years with no recharge or refuel, and after that he can be a faithful and useful companion when scavenging in the commonwealth wasteland. For all their evils and faults, you can't question corporate craftsmanship. [link] [comments] |
I just realized how the fuck do you get out of power armor by yourself Posted: 25 Jul 2021 08:13 PM PDT In fallout 4 it's been established that you have to turn a valve to get in it but how do you get out of it? [link] [comments] |
Does Bethesda actually resent New Vegas? Posted: 25 Jul 2021 06:57 AM PDT I've noticed it's a pretty common way of thinking in the fallout fanbase that Bethesda absolutely hates obsidian, and are purposefully ignoring new vegas. You can easily find these comments pretty much anywhere fallout related on the internet. But do they actually? I've never actually seen an ounce of actual proof that supports this wide spread belief. I think a lot of it stems from fallout 4 not really referencing NV outside a few obscure easter eggs you can count on one hand. But I personally never took it as resentment, more as Bethesda just staying in their own lane. I mean, you don't see the fanbase getting angry over the lack of fallout 3 references in New vegas, outside E-DE referencing general Autumn, and one line of dialouge about some of the enclave heading east. If anyone could dig up some old tweet or quote of a higher up Bethesda dev outwardly trashing obsidian, I'd get it then. But for the most part, I don't see any actual proof outside fans just projecting their own beliefs on he devs. And I'm only bringing this up because it's such a widespread way of thinking in this fanbase. Anybody wish you could actually *read* the comics and magazines you find in Fallout? Posted: 25 Jul 2021 10:51 AM PDT Like how you can read books in Elder Scrolls? I'd love to read Unstopable Comics and such. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jul 2021 09:23 PM PDT Simple Fawks is a Intelligent, exploratorius, open-minded, tactical young woman. Strong is just strong. [link] [comments] |
Who else has gotten tired of the Brotherhood of steel? Posted: 26 Jul 2021 01:35 AM PDT It's just they've been in too many games and it's gotten to the point Bethesda has made retcons to use them and I know 100% they will be in the fallout tv show and whatever sequel is next I'm getting sick of em [link] [comments] |
Update: Am I the only one who likes Fallout 3 more than New Vegas? Posted: 26 Jul 2021 12:51 AM PDT So a while back I made a post saying that I didn't like how everyone always said New Vegas was a better game and I like Fallout 3 because of the location, atmosphere, lore, and side quests. While I still do love all of those things about Fallout 3, Ive changed my mind about it being a "better" game. After finally fully playing NV and truly understanding it, I have come to the conclusion that there is no 'better' Fallout game. They all do such different things so well and each are amazing in their own fields (except 76). I feel that to compare them is so pointless and we should all just admire them separately due to them being such different games. I could go on and on and on about what makes each game so great, but this time I won't. I just think the Fallout fanbase should be less divided on which game is the superior one and we should all just come together for our love of the franchise. [link] [comments] |
I think the Enclave is poorly written Posted: 25 Jul 2021 04:33 PM PDT I know they have a serious anti-mutant stance, but given they have some of the smartest people working for them you'd think executing every wastelander is simply nonsensical. Why? They don't even leave pure humans like vault dwellers alive, speaking of which. The vaults are set up as experiments but I see little reason to why they would benefit any government that's trying to restore itself. They constantly screw themselves over in a way that just makes them "the baddies". And logically it makes no friggin sense they lose so easily. Idk, I love fallout 2, and even 3 is alright to an extent, but they just come off as mustache twirling dumbasses with no real plan. All the knowledge and logistics they have, and they can't figure out anyway to take over america besides killing everything with a heartbeat that isn't enclave. it's a shame too, because they seem so alien, and mysterious, but really don't have much depth tbh. Tldr: My main points are -Despite having incredibly advanced tech, with the only working forms of transportation, and flight, power armor, plasma weaponry, and most importantly the industrial/logistical base to support it, they lose to a tribal, and then a bunch of cattle ranchers, and the brotherhood. -Even with tons of politicians making up its members no one has any diplomatic savvy, or intrigue. Im not saying they have to be good guys, but they should at least make sense. The master had more convincing reasons for taking over the wasteland. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Jul 2021 01:44 AM PDT I try to made my own custom armor in fallout 4 but I would like to use another body from a another mod (not a preset). Anyone could help me ? [link] [comments] |
Fallout settlement big or small Posted: 26 Jul 2021 03:11 AM PDT So if you decide to build up settlements do you do the whole large as possible or keep them small? I keep the somewhat small enough to cover the people there and have a stopping point for me. I never had a desire to build massive settlements. Having said that I've seen some pretty impressive big builds its just not for me. [link] [comments] |
I thought of a Fallout story (I’m a bad writer) Posted: 25 Jul 2021 08:16 PM PDT You are a Caravan driver, life sucks a lot, and you haven't been making sales in a while. The trade routes are overflowing with people, so you decide fuck it, money's tight, and the best thing to do is to move. So you take your regular route and go down a path in unexplored territory. You're lost…you don't know where you're going. And out of nowhere, a stranger shows up, expressing a friendly face; you let out a sigh of relief. He offers his help and shows you the direction of a nearby city. You thank him and continue on your travels. Days go by...you come to the realization there is no city. Then suddenly a checkpoint? Strange... you pull up to the checkpoint gripping your holster, waiting for someone to show up, then you're attacked! The raiders blow off your arm, disarming you, and you pass out. Your mule runs and doesn't stop running. You wake and sit up quickly, looking around in the facility you woke up in, your memory unclear, all you remember is the attack, you look at your arm, your arm still there… Doctors rush in the room questioning your arrival, name (S.P.E.C.I.A.L), but most importantly, your unmutated animal. Faction One: The Immortal Scientists The home of the scientist who helped you, a vault whose experiment failed. The original experiment was to examine what radiation does to humans and animals; the vault leaders would leak radiation into rooms. Slowly poisoning their occupants, turning them into ghouls. The occupants, angered by the failure of the vault, revolted and stopped the leaking of the vault. The occupants began working days on end trying their best to find a cure...for 200 years...until a scout brought in a human...injured but still breathing and an unmutated mule. After 200 years, the ghouls smiled...as a potential lead has finally shown up. Using their knowledge, they repaired the human arm and began examining the animal. These actions, helping someone in need, eventually made them feel human. You were the sign of hope they needed if you allowed them to experiment on your animal. You could be the reason livestock reappears. Finally, humans cursed with immortality could be freed. Faction Two and Three: The Brotherhood of Steel And The Enclave If you chose to tell the scientist's secrets to the world, two military groups would appear. Wanting to get their hands on the cure or wishing to put a stop to it. It's your decision, side with the B.O.S, and kill the scientist. Letting technology that could make the world a better place go to waste, ensuring that humans will forever be the superior race. Or side with the Enclave to pick and choose who gets to live a good life and who has to die for the cause. If you choose to keep your silence, you'll be the protector of the future. Facing two massive armies... [link] [comments] |
Fallout Comic books would be a great idea Posted: 25 Jul 2021 08:53 AM PDT We aren't going to get any new fallout games soon so short comic books or graphic novels would be super cool. Id personally love to see what characters like Raul Tejeda did after the game ended or Preston Garvey's backstory at the Quincy massacre because it would be great to see the reason why he's so averse to running the minute men. Is it known if there are survivors in the other countries in the Fallout universe? Posted: 25 Jul 2021 12:52 PM PDT Did any other countries have vault-like programs similar to the US ones from Vault Tec? Is it known how the world powers fared after the bombs fell? [link] [comments] |
how do pre-war foods and drinks still stay edible after 200+ years? Posted: 25 Jul 2021 10:32 PM PDT like how can packages standbys and bottled drinks remain consumable, even after surviving an atomic holocaust and 2+ centuries just sitting around accumulating dust and grime? just a question ive had for a while. What’s your favourite fallout game and why ? Posted: 26 Jul 2021 12:03 AM PDT Just curious about other peoples opinion. My favourite one is fo3. It has the best atmosphere with a good mix of scary encounters. Exploring it's world is just so much fun even today. I'm so thankful for the ttw team, it helped me make an almost perfect load order for fo3. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jul 2021 05:40 AM PDT Something I always enjoy about each Fallout games is seeing the new creatures it introduces to the series, the mutations due to Radiation or FEV or man-made creations always helps make each game feel distinct. I'd be curious what everyone's favourite creature enemy in the series is (not counting Humans, Ghouls, Super Mutants, Trogs, Spore Carriers & Tunnelers) and as an extension if you were able to add some creatures to the series what would they be (optionally where would they be located as well)? Anyone else kinda miss scavengers having robots or creatures with them being a common random thing? Posted: 25 Jul 2021 03:45 PM PDT Like I always thought it was neat to see say, a scavenger with just a Yao Guai or guard dog, or even seeing that guy with his broken Mr. handy. It always felt a bit more… realistic in a fallout kind of way. Like it makes the people you come across feel more like people who have their own adventures and experiences happening. Stuff that you don't see but still happen, and stuff that's insignificant but still happening. I always thought that idea was kinda neat atleast. Idk, if anything I think it was atleast cool when it came to having a bit of variety. Traveling the wasteland and coming across someone with a friendly mutant bear was always kinda interesting just for the fact of it's something a bit different when it comes to just walking around the wasteland for no specific reason. Kinda sad it seems this will mostly stay a fallout 3 thing since now at best seeing something like a guard dog is uncommon and often either hostile or purchasable and Pack Brahmin and guards are all we will see with common caravans. Quite sad if you ask me. Edit: apparently in Fallout 76 you can find scavengers with Robots accompanying them. I've never even seen a scavenger before so I didn't know this but atleast it's something, still not as neat as seeing them with Mutant Bears but still pretty cool [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jul 2021 04:02 AM PDT Some one brought up an interesting point that a Tokyo fall out setting would be interesting. Got me thinking what other world cities would make for a great Fallout game? What are your thoughts? [link] [comments] |

How exactly are they gonna rebuild society Posted: 25 Jul 2021 07:15 AM PDT I mean they had a resource and literally everything is nuked and destroyed so there isn't much to rebuild society with unless they get launched into space and go on a earth like planet [link] [comments] |
What do you prefer, a blank slate Fallout protagonist or one with more of a backstory? Posted: 25 Jul 2021 07:23 PM PDT When I played through Fallout 4 I remember always wishing there was more unique carryover from the Sole Survivor's backstory. They made it such a point that they were a soldier (don't remember if it was explicitly implied they fought in Anchorage) but it never really mattered much. I think there was a terminal in a national guard base that you could log into because of your military credentials and I think a one off line when joining the BoS but that's about all I can think of. Well the encounter with the nuclear sub was pretty unique too, albeit not terribly satisfying. I've heard some people have really strong feelings against The Lonesome Road DLC of New Vegas because they didn't like the back story it gave the Courier which seemed odd to me. Wanted to hear some other opinions on this because in Fallouts 3 and 76 (can't say much for 1, 2, and Brotherhood of Steel since I never played those) aside from simply being a vault dweller there isn't any preconceived identity to the protagonists [link] [comments] |
