    From many different critics of this game it's always been agreed that the capital wasteland should be empty as there is apparently no way for the people in this region. Ever since the release of the video "the shandification of fallout" this has been a repeated talking point among new vegas fans and detractors of fallout 3.

    Now from basic observation in the game we can see multiple towns that harbor Brahmin, we see scavengers, hunters who gather food among doctors, engineers, scientists, guards and mercenaries throughout the game and traders who come and trade supplies between these towns. Not only this but from the Pitt and point lookout DLC we see people travel and trade with people inside the capital wasteland.

    Despite this it is still a commonly held belief that the people of the capital wasteland should all be dead or gone. The game is criticized for its "overpopulation" in comparison to its lacking of agricultural resources as if the capital wasteland is thriving.

    Now for a bit of an economic thinking. Cities, regions and towns don't typically have a good economy depending solely on their natural resources. Venezuela for instance has good natural resources yet it's economy is in shambles. Singapore has extremely limited natural resources yet the country has a strong economy.

    What makes a region or country prosperous is more so the ability to trade supplies efficiently and securely. In the case of fallout 3, trading is only mildly secure, and so the region is required to rely on its own natural resources moreso than cities like new Vegas which have contracts which Brahmin barons to supply it with food rather than relying on desert crops. And because there is are no fresh crops, now you have the reason as to why the capital wasteland is in the state it is.

    In my opinion it is inaccurate to say that it should be completely empty, or that it's too populated. What keeps the town alive is its Brahmin and ability to trade with other communities and regions.

    So in my opinion Siding with Tree Father Birch, to get Maples Gard is the best. Let me Explain, Lidens Outcast Power Armor is good, but its only difference form Outcast Power Armor is 1+ Strength instead of 2+ Strength, -1 Agility instead of-2 Agility and +10 to Big Guns. Now Poplars Hood has 3 differences from a Druid Hood, 40 more item HP, +1 Agility and +10 Sneak. So that is why I think Maples Garb is more unique than the other 2, now if anyone knows a cheat to get all 3 let me know. And let me know your opinion.
