I may finally move on from the 360 pad for this game Posted: 29 Jul 2021 04:42 AM PDT I know most people stick with mouse and keyboard. I acknowledge the advantages of that setup. But a game like FO3/FNV is almost uniquely well-situated to support control pad use. The comparative lack of spry movement from using a pad is made up for with VATS, after all. And on the other end of the spectrum, using a pad provides you with immediately fine control over how fast you move, which is great for when you're sneaking around. Lastly, through the combination of the "360 Movement" and "Diagonal Movement" mods (as well as a tweak to the deadzone in Durazno), you can get honest to goodness 360-degree movement in New Vegas. The purely digital on/off movement of a keyboard solution is positively backwards compared to this. In any event, I've had personal hangups with all the pad options that have come about since the 360 pad (and all the ones before, of course). XB1 trigger buttons have corners in them. PS controllers have the analog stick at the bottom rather than parallel with the buttons. The list goes on. I recently picked up a Nintendo Switch because one game I really wanted to play was only available on it. At the same time, I picked up the "Pro Controller" they released for that platform. It's just as ergonomic and comfortable as the 360 pad. The analog stick design holds the thumbs somewhat better. The button layout in the middle of the pad is a little ill-conceived, but that won't matter after some remapping, and since there are four buttons there instead of two, I have more options. I can set up a dedicated "Implant GRX button." Obvious downside is that the triggers are digital, but that's really not a problem in FNV. I do wish the A/B/X/Y buttons were arranged a little more square (it's a flattened diamond). With all that having been said, I'm not sure I can recommend it as a purchase in its own right, at the price they're asking (70 bucks). A big chunk of that is the "Nintendo tax", I'm sure. There's nothing in this controller that really justifies that kind of money. It just happens to have been designed without any major flaws, which admittedly does seem to be asking a lot. Always detected, no matter what I do Posted: 28 Jul 2021 11:26 PM PDT I could be standing still, have a stealth boy, be completely naked, whatever, and I'm always detected. It never becomes an immediate problem until I get to Old World Blues and the stealth suit mission is impossible for me unless I killall in the console. Is there any mod to fix this or anything? I am using mods, but they're all mostly minor QOL fixes than anything. The only major mod I have is Functional Post Game Ending, and I don't think that would affect my sneak. I've had this problem at random points with other save files, too; some never get them, some get them early on, it's very inconsistent and frustrating. Thanks in advance for any help. Fashion Tips for an Amnaesaic Mailman Posted: 29 Jul 2021 06:57 AM PDT Which gear should I get if I want to wander the Mojave Wasteland with genuine style? I love the Ranger gear, but I'm starting to get tired of teleporting to Camp Forlorn Hope, sneak-kill a Ranger on the watchtower and stripping their clothes off. [link] [comments] | ||
beyond the beef waiter tries to kill me Posted: 29 Jul 2021 06:26 AM PDT I am dress as a White glove and if I call him he attacks me. I have already freed Ted. Maybe it's because of him? [link] [comments] |
