Why is everyone so chill about Sole Survivor being over 200 years old?

    Posted: 26 Jun 2021 07:04 PM PDT

I mean one would imagine Brotherhood at the very least would want to pick his/her brain about any useful information they might have, and providing SS is male, any information about his military service, after all its closely tied with their own founding. I would imagine at the very least they would want to examine Vault 111 and take a look at the technology that can preserve a human for 200 years, seemingly no worse for wear.

Apart from that i can't believe people aren't curious, i mean wouldn't you be if you met someone from the Civil War era, even if the events are fairly well documented. But no, apart from Piper's article everyone seems perfectly chill about it, like meeting someone over 200 years old is just a regular Tuesday.

    Why I love Fallout 3

    Posted: 26 Jun 2021 07:44 PM PDT

Sure the game is known to be buggy and glitchy at times but I still enjoy roaming the Capital Wasteland l, with they washed colors and post apocalyptic ambience. Playing this game for the first time was incredible and still is till this day, because this is a game my Mother bought me In 07 and since shes gone, this game holds memories of her, just for buying it. Well that's all I have to say, tell me why you like Falliut 3.

F04 was good but I just couldn't ever get past one thing

Giddy Butter Cup leg: weighs 1

Giddy butter cup torso: weighs 3

    Giddy butter head: weighs 3??

    Giddy buttercup entire thing: 8

The look on my face: priceless

For real, 4 legs + body + head = 10. Does the tail just weigh -2?

    Discuss.

A Simpler Answer to The Vault-Tec Question

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 05:29 AM PDT

I feel like everyone has asked what Vault-Tec was actually planning at some point, what they'd do with all the data despite being dead for 200 years, and the theory I've heard that I like the best at the moment is the theory that the Enclave was originally planning to extract the vaults' data then run off to space.

But I think I have a better explanation, which also solves some of the problems that theory has (such as the vaults with instructions only to answer to Vault-Tec and noone else, INCLUDING the US govt).

Most countries on Earth since the end of WW2 have made Continuity of Government plans. The gist is, in the event of a disaster which would cause the state apparatus to be destroyed such as a nuclear war, they can run away to secret bunkers and wait a few years before popping their heads out and hoping the world isn't too wrecked that people still listen to them.

Maybe Vault-Tec and the US government just didn't expect the nukes to be as destructive as they were, and thought they could wait it out?

I was just reminiscing on my first time playing fallout 3 in the 4th grade

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 04:24 AM PDT

And when the hype train exploded during the drop of fallout 4 Senior year. My mom even let me skip school to download and play it lol. I love this franchise.

It just occurred to me that the plot of New Vegas is that the fate of a huge chunk of the US is thrust into the hands of a mailman with a bad head injury.

    Posted: 26 Jun 2021 10:07 PM PDT

Idk why this thought just occurred to me, and now New Vegas feels ten times better and more hilarious to me now.

Why I will never join the Legion

    Posted: 26 Jun 2021 09:21 PM PDT

The Legions nothing more than a bunch of scumbag lowlives. They destroy tribe after tribe and force them into their army. Their treatment of woman is unacceptable. They rape almost every woman they find use them as slaves. And after playing Fallout New Vegas for about 800 hours I can gladly say I will never join those degenerates! NCR strong and proud!

    What should I do next?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 07:00 AM PDT

I recently finished fallout 4, it was the first fallout I played. I'm thinking about playing Skyrim from the elder scrolls (correct me if I'm wrong but my brother explained it to me that Skyrim is part of the elder scrolls like fallout 3 is part of fallout.) But I really like fallout and i dont know which one to play next.

Fuck the Temple Of Trials and fuck whoever came up with it!

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 04:40 AM PDT

So, being gen z (born in 2001 myself) i never played the classic Fallout games so i decided to give them a try even though turn based combat is really not my cup of tea. Played through Fallout 1, loved it and am currently playing through Fallout 2. It's great but dear God fuck the Temple of Trials. That is by far the worst opening/tutorial to any game i've ever played. It's bad enough that the temple is a fucking maze, it's bad enough that i have to deal with old school Fallout's clunky RNG turn based combat, but also, if you didn't spec your character decently into melee well you're pretty much fucked in that opening area. Seriously, what the fuck were you guys thinking?!

In your opinion, what Non-Main Stories are the saddest?

    Posted: 26 Jun 2021 10:15 PM PDT

For me, it's either the Keller family holotapes, or Lily Bowen's backstory.

    Fallout 3 and 4 should’ve had different animal/creature enemies

    Posted: 26 Jun 2021 09:02 PM PDT

I grew up in Northern Virginia and the biggest thing about Fallout 3 is that there's scorpions and mutated iguanas running around. Now I'm no herpetologist nor am I an arachnologist, but radacorpions and deathclaws shouldn't exist on the east coast. Giant mutated spiders and large centipedes? Absolutely. Maybe Bethesda wanted to bring back old enemies to bring back their old audience, but they could've been more creative with their regional mutated creatures and animals. Just my 2 cents

Why are there super mutants in West Virginia in 2102?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 03:38 AM PDT

I don't think this makes much sense because I remember in FO4 they mentioned something about the institute created super mutants? How would they be cross country before the institute is even a thing?

What did Far Harbor do differently?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 07:13 AM PDT

I have played through Fallout 4 and I'm working my way through Nuka World currently. Everyone keeps telling me Far Harbor is the best and makes the game finally feel like an RPG. What did Far Harbor do, though, exactly?

I don't have access to a computer or a console that I can use to play fallout games on at the moment. How else can I drive into the universe?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 07:12 AM PDT

I absolutely love Fallout and I crave more. I have my smartphone and an internet connection. I could also order a book. Without access to playing the games, what could I do to dive even more into Fallout?

Is there an ending that carries out the Enclave’s plan in Fallout 2?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 06:57 AM PDT

I've never seen anything related to the player being able to side with the enclave and carry out the plans of the President. Is there a way to be in favor of this mass genocide and allow the Enclave to steam roll the wasteland, all the while bypassing Frank Horrigan all together?
