I want to play as a ghoul

    Posted: 01 Jun 2021 10:39 PM PDT

Next fallout should be only about non human races, i wanna pick a pre war ghoul , first generation super mutant or synth, or a super modified cyborg.

    Im tired of being human

Why are ghouls not the dominant species/race?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2021 04:34 AM PDT

This might be explained in lore but I haven't found it anywhere. It makes sense to me that ghouls would have become the dominant species post war. They live a long time so would be able to build political/economic/business empires a lot easier than humans whose life expectancy would have seriously shrunk post war. Radiation doesn't affect them so they could go places/do things humans couldn't, even so much as use dirty bombs/radiation as a weapon against humans without having to worry about it themselves. I feel that they would have pushed humans aside and rose to be the dominant power

Just realized you can rudely skip dialogue by pressing the right dialogue buttoon

Was trying to skip dialogue with ada to get the mechanist quest done and heard my player character go "blah blah blah" and "ugh..." was surprised after all these years of skipping dialogue I could add some snarky flavor too it

I found Fallout 3 subway systems far more interesting than Fallout 4 opinions?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2021 02:55 PM PDT

For a series of games so focused on Nuclear Energy there's a notable lack of Nuclear Power plants.

There's one in Fallout 2 and a few in Fallout 76, and that's it.

I'd quite like a Fallout game where you play as some random nobody that comes across an over-powered vault dweller who's single-handedly saving the local area

    Posted: 01 Jun 2021 08:27 AM PDT

I know that the 'chosen one' shtick is basically part and parcel of Fallout games but with Fallout 4 taking it to such an extreme that people can't build their own damn beds without your help, maybe it's time to take an oblique view at the messiah story trope?

Maybe you start as a trader / mercenary / wanderer with no particular stake in anything until you happen across a settlement where someone in a vault suit has been put in charge of rebuilding the lives of every man, woman and child in the vicinity even though they're still squinting while their eyes adjust to the daylight. This poor vault dweller is then sent on yet another errand and asks you to join them. If you do, then so begins your life as a companion, never technically being sent on a fetch quest and never technically being asked to save another settlement but experiencing the vault dweller's story nonetheless.

Maybe you oppose the vault dweller and become one of the villains of the story. Maybe some of the seeminly innocuous choices you made before meeting the vault dweller mean that they die at some point and you have the opportunity to take over. Maybe you just kill the vault dweller because you want their Pip-Boy so you finally have a map and VATS, because you haven't found any vaults yet. Maybe you decide to leave the vault dweller to it, exploring the wasteland and going about sidequests and your own personal trader / mercenary / wanderer main quest while the overarching conflicts are fought and decided around you, probably ensaring you at some point even though you try to stay neutral like Geralt of Rivia.

I get the whole power fantasy thing of Fallout / Elder Scrolls, but I think it would equally be interesting to see the tale of the 'chosen one' from the outside (going back to the Witcher again, a bit like Ciri to your Geralt). You can still try to join factions but they can manage just fine without you because they have the vault dweller. You can accompany the vault dweller to experience that faction's storyline, and maybe try to influence the choices the vault dweller makes so that there's still player agency in the faction story, which either makes you BFFs with the vault dweller or increasingly butting heads. (Of course, you'd be making your own choices in your own trader / mercenary / wanderer storyline so there'd be plenty of player agency there).

I dunno. Maybe I want to play a Fallout narrative that doesn't involve everyone pinning all their hopes on me, and that maybe even pokes fun at the chosen one narrative.

What are your preferred endings for New Vegas?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2021 05:02 PM PDT

I've been playing a ton of New Vegas lately after a hiatus (still my favorite Fallout game,) and have debated the different endings with friends. The truth is, every faction has significant pros and cons, and I'm curious who you guys lean towards.

New power armour system or old

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 04:34 AM PDT

Do you prefer the original power armour system from older fallout titles (get it later in game and is just like any other armour) or do you prefer the fusion core iron man esqe system

Replaying Fallout 4 for the first time since 2015. What’s changed?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 04:31 AM PDT

I first played through Fallout 4 on Xbox One when the game came out originally in 2015. I spent a TON of hours playing through it and Far Harbor. I have decided to pick it up again, but I would like to know if there are any major changes I should be aware of and/or plan for before I jump back in.

What are the best companions for a new vegas legion playthrough?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 04:11 AM PDT

I'm doing a legion playthrough and most companions are turning their back on me despite having a good karma with a lot of factions. I also wanted to get my hands on the enclave remnants but Arcade Gannon doesn't want to tag along with me because i have good karma with the legion.

    Non-PC RPG-ify F4?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2021 06:53 PM PDT

Hi, first time poster. I'm not trying to trash 4, but I think New Vegas and others have stronger rpg elements. I unfortunately do not own a PC, does anyone recommend any mods for Xbox to enhance the RPG in this Fallout game?

Fallout 4 crashes and after i load a save, my inventoy is wiped and mods that have various prompts pop up indicating a fresh install immediately pop back up again.

    Posted: 01 Jun 2021 07:32 PM PDT

So, Fo4 crashes, right? right. pretty normal, i get frustrated, get some water, load up my most recent save and then whammy! Game loads up, I have no armor or modded guns. The vanilla guns that were replaced by mods for modded guns are now invisible and my hair is ginger and any companion I was previously travelling with that i didn't change (piper has a small facial mod and she is still there, but nick is a human and is gone) are now stuck in one spot and when they do move they walk exclusively in one direction. Any modded guns (the m249 mod for example) are completely removed from my inventory and any replaced vanilla guns (a 10mm replaced by a glock) are now invisible. I've noted that this usually happens after the loader limit appears, but this time it happened when the warning wasn't there and i was well below the limit. Then various gun mods that need to ask some questions before fully working (AER15 mod is simply just laserguns, pops up some prompts asking about quests, leveled lists, etc. etc.) have their prompts pop back up.

Do you think you would survive in fallout?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2021 05:52 PM PDT

It can be any game but it has to use either hardcore or survival so you actually need to find food, water, shelter and not contract diseases and die.

My cousin and I used to play together but he didn't like it which then made me stop playing. I play on PC lmk.

Is the throatslicer the best melee weapon in fallout 4?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2021 12:03 PM PDT

I am wondering if I can get a weapon better than the throatslicer, I have every dlc other than vault tech workshop but I don't think that matters

    News on next fallout?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 01:13 AM PDT

Personally fallout 76 doesn't scratch that fallout itch for me but have played the rest to death, over a couple 1000 hours on each. But I'm getting the itch again and was wondering if there's been any news on a new single player fallout? I don't expect one anytime soon Bethesda got a lot on there plate but figured I'd ask
