Playing Old World Blues for the first time and...

    Posted: 17 Apr 2021 07:20 PM PDT

I can't stop laughing. I love the base game and it definitely has its moments of hilarity (shouts out Wild Wasteland) but they really let it out with this DLC. From the initial interaction with the Think Tank to all of the personalities in The Sink to the different neuroses of the doctors to the absurdity of the villain, it's just all so good. It's one thing to make a game that's funny, and another to make one that takes itself seriously (Dead Money much?). To take on both is a superb feat that this game nailed perfectly. I'm still partway through so no spoilers, I just wanted to express my love for this game cause I can't exactly start spewing this to just anyone. Cheers to all, and keep that Big Iron on your hip.

Educated and Comprehension are both overrated.

    Posted: 18 Apr 2021 03:06 AM PDT

You don't even need either to max all skills if you take skilled twice (and you can take it thrice), get all the skill books, and have at least 5 in the Intelligence stat.

So why do people still act like they're must haves with the level cap at 50 instead of 30 with all 4 DLC? If you don't care about min-maxing then you don't need to care about max skills either.

Edit: Since most people aren't getting it, I mean they're overrated and not useless. Gaining high skills early is still a preferential thing and thus not a "must have" which why I say its overrated when people say to always take either.

    Killing Van Graffs?

    Posted: 18 Apr 2021 07:09 AM PDT

    Hello fellow Wanderers/Couriers

    Question?

Before I disintegrate the living shit out of the Van Graffs,do I have to worry about certain ammo/weapons/GRA not being sold or after they die the items transfer to a different vendor?

Guys i think i messed up

    Posted: 17 Apr 2021 10:22 PM PDT

I was in the Zion thing, im a new player btw, and I was chilling with the carvan group, and we got attacked and they all died. Then I walked across the bridge and I shot these other natives that were over there, and one was named, so I think I would've talked to him. Btw after this 3 quests failed. Anywasy my only quest available was to get the map of Zion, so I made my way all the way over to the Narrows, killed everyone, and on my way over this guy named Daniel shot at me so I killed him. I got the map of Zion and left, and this slideshow played with all the shit that I caused apparently. Did I fuck up because I am so god damn confused?

A few questions before I continue (Possible spoilers, I suppose)

    Posted: 18 Apr 2021 07:06 AM PDT

(I don't know if I should flair this as spoilers...? Edit. nvm, it was flagged by itself lol)

Hey, guys. It's my first playthrough of New Vegas and I decided to go for an Independent NV. I have a few questions however, because I've a plan in mind, and I don't want to mess it up so I'll be really grateful for any help here.

    1. When I got to the Strip, Victor approached me about House who wants to meet me. Since I do RP most of the time, I figured my character would definitely first settle his score with Benny and meet house after - if he was in the mood at all.It might be a dumb question but did I mess up by not meeting with House first? Did I lose anything?
    2. I assume it is necessary to get rid of Mr. House so that I can get the Independent ending, right? So I can't just give him the chip, kill him after, and get the Independent ending?
    3. How is the whole situation with the Lucky 38 suite? Since I am not siding with Mr. House, can I still obtain it and keep it even after dealing with the guy?

Is new vegas actually the area of paradise?

    Posted: 18 Apr 2021 12:34 AM PDT

Is new vegas in game actually the little area of paradise. In case you don't know what is usually referred to as las vegas is actually an area in nevada called paradise which is where most casinos are the strip and even the las vegas sign so my question is. Is new vegas where las vegas is or is it paradise

If I am kicked out of a cassino, is the ban permanent or is there a way to remove it?

    Posted: 17 Apr 2021 06:55 PM PDT

I just really enjoy playing blackjack and being a greed man by defunding the cassinos hahaha, is the ban on the cassino permanent? Or can I return after a certain time? If it is permanent, is there a console command to let me play more? (I swear I am not an addict)

Is Mod Manager supposed to install plugins in FO folder or its own folder?

    Posted: 18 Apr 2021 02:47 AM PDT

I'm a noob and spent like 2 hours following some guide and at some point it says:

" Basically, you need to install 4 separate retexture mods, then delete 357retex.esp and singleshot_retex.esp files from your \Data folder "

But when I go to my Data folder, these things aren't there.

It appears all of the plugins I installed have been installed to D:/MO2 and not the fallout new vegas folder, is this normal or is everything messed up at this point?
