Why are new languages so rare in the Wasteland? Posted: 18 Apr 2021 09:18 AM PDT It's been more than 2 centuries, yet everybody still speaks English. Two centuries is more than enough for a language to evolve, yet the only new languges we hear in the entire series are the three creoles from the Honest Hearts. Like, I understand the vault dwellers. Vaults probably have an education system that's meant to preserve the language, so it didn't evolve. Same goes for the Enclave. I also understand that ghouls are long lived, and could function as living dictionaries, but intelligent ghouls are somewhat rare and discriminated against, so I doubt they would affect the evolution of the language [link] [comments] |
New Vegas SPECIAL Stats and Factions Posted: 18 Apr 2021 07:39 PM PDT Had a thought earlier. I have a theory that the major factions in FNV match with certain SPECIAL Stats. Examples: Strength - BoS. Power armor and energy weapons. Perception - NCR. Rangers and scouts look for advancing legion forces. Endurance - Legion. They survive with no chems and shitty equipment. Charisma - Kings. Need I say more? Intelligence - Followers of the Apocalypse. Arcade Gannon is evidence. Agility - Boomers. Run really fast to the gate. Luck - House. He always wins. Lemme know what you think [link] [comments] |
What would international relations of a US divided into commonwealths be like? Posted: 19 Apr 2021 02:16 AM PDT Would the US be more isolationist or would they continue to do things like support anti communist efforts in developing countries? Was curious if there could be any lore that pointed to even a partial answer of this. [link] [comments] |

Scorched Plague outside Appalachia??? Posted: 18 Apr 2021 09:35 AM PDT By 2102 the Scorched Plague has wiped out all human life in WV with the exception of the Vault Dwellers in Vault 76 but it's uncertain if the plague spread into any neighboring states such as Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia or even DC??? How did the courier get to goodsprings? Posted: 18 Apr 2021 07:18 PM PDT At some point he accepted the delivery job that he got from mojave express. It's unknown where he got it from but he couldn't have gotten it from the branch is Primm. Probably somewhere else like the Hub .And when he was passing along goodsprings before he got intercepted by benny and shot in the cemetery. But how did he come to goodsprings in the first place? It's likely he couldn't have come from the north since he would probably just walk directly towards freeside instead of taking a de-tour towards goodsprings. Also there are deathclaws and cazadors everywhere to the north. He couldn't have come from the west since it's all mountains there and his only pass towards the mojave would probably be the mojave outpost. Which he has never heard of in the game. (Unless there is a mountain pass or something like that which directly leads to goodsprings.) He probably couldn't have come from the south considering he'd most likely go towards primm before coming to goodsprings. Which is unlikely since he doesn't know about Primm and the whole convict situtation there. (same thing applies if he came from the mojave outpost) And east is impossible considering it's Ceaser's land and if he did dodge the territory he would just go to freeside instead. This is pretty confusing tbh. It's almost like he just got teleported into the place instead of having had walked there previously. Could be simply a developer oversight/gameplay limitation [link] [comments] |
