My Sister played fallout 4 for the 1st time. Posted: 17 Apr 2021 08:02 PM PDT She picked to go with the brotherhood after trying out the minutemen, the railroad and the institute. She hated the minutemen because of the raiders from nuka world, she gave up on the railroad because their a bunch of wierdos, and apparently the institute are a bunch of psycho doctors. She thought the brotherhood would be a good option, but then they showed their feelings towards synths during blind betrayal, and now she hates them to. Her conclusion is that every faction is so stupid and bad that the commonwealth is completely doomed. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Apr 2021 09:09 PM PDT I would like a return of scrounging for ammo crafting components like lead and copper, and buying primers, powder and collecting casings for reloading your own ammo at a reloading bench. I also think that there should be a revamp to the weapons modification system in Fo4. What I mean by that is you have a mix of the Fo4 and New Vegas system where you would buy, find, or be given weapon modifications for you to then apply in a weapons workbench. It would also be nice if in the next game Legendary Weapons and armor would be made into quest rewards in the form of unique modifications. I would also like a return to the weapons degradation system but with some changes, #1 Being that bulk ammo, lower quality ammo, Black Powder or just corrosive powder, Incendiary, Explosive and Plasma ammo degrading your weapon at a faster pace. #2 Having some of the best ammo types be expensive to create and require a high level perk to create. Anyways what do you think would be the superior system? [link] [comments] |

Playing Fallout 2. I just hit Lumpy with the Highwayman. Posted: 17 Apr 2021 07:51 PM PDT This game is great with the situational humor. I noticed him at broken hills and he just crawls out from under the bumper and limps home to gecko. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Apr 2021 11:10 AM PDT For the past 12 hours, all I've been doing is travelling around Boston checking out all the different buildings and doing quests I never knew existed. For me personally, it's more been fun to do that, then to play the main story. [link] [comments] |
Trouble with Fallout 3 not running on win 10? Here is a fix! Posted: 17 Apr 2021 08:41 PM PDT I was recently having a problem where Fo3 would not launch because it could not find "xlive.dll". Then I found this link :https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/1086 This fixed all of my problems, I was finally able to play Fo3 on win10! I made this post for anyone who could not find a fix, have fun! [link] [comments] |
I genuinely don't get the hype behind Fallout New Vegas, help me like the game. Posted: 17 Apr 2021 07:29 AM PDT I started playing fallout with fallout 2, I enjoyed it although it could get tedious at times and had a huge learning curve. I have played 3, 4, and 76 as well. I recently started playing NV again and I just don't see what's so great about it. 1) The game railroads you through the plot throwing creatures at you to kill you if you try to explore. 2) I found no good reason for my character to get involved in the main plot beyond killing Benny. 3) an empty desert is the worst setting. I spend about 10 minutes walking somewhere on the horizon that looks interesting only to find there's nothing there and the building is boarded up. It's like no effort was put into anything that doesn't connect to the main plot. 4) it's cool that you can use multiple ways to solve a quest but most weren't that great to begin with. I will say The DLCs are a bit of a saving grace and pretty fun. I want to like this game but I just don't see it. [link] [comments] |
fnv come fly with me quest(spoiler)l Posted: 18 Apr 2021 04:19 AM PDT i have quest from ghouls to get rid of nightkins in the basement. im in the basement and I have to choose which one to save(nightkin or the ghoul) a.can i loot the stealth boys that have been sent back? b. does davison appear later?(assuming the fact i dont kill him) c.whats the benefit if me not killing the ghouls upstairs ? Getting back into Fallout 4. Everything is kicking my ass. Posted: 17 Apr 2021 03:16 PM PDT Any tips on where to head to find a good weapon early on? I'm just dinking everything right now, it feels like. [link] [comments] |
How are the OG Fallouts? Are they worth it? Posted: 17 Apr 2021 11:56 PM PDT I know this has been asked a lot of times but should I buy the OG Fallouts? I have heard a lot of good stuff about them plus they are pretty cheap on GOG, but my only problem is that they are turn-based, I have only played Pokemon and a few other turn-based games, and I like them(hahah) so are the OG Fallouts worth checking out? btw if you didnt guess it already I love the sequel fallouts(except 76) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Apr 2021 03:41 AM PDT I was wondering if fallout 76 is worth buying for ps4 it's like 13$ on The Psn right now, so it's on sale and pretty cheap., I have never played a fallout game but I really want too, or should I get fallout 4? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Apr 2021 02:02 AM PDT So when you find Sheffield in diamond city and assign him to a settlement sometimes he will not be there, so while I was wandering around trough some settlements I found out that Sheffield wasn't dead and instead he was assigned as a trader and a Brahmin was with him you couldn't trade with him but if you assign him to a shop he will automatically stay in that settlement and start selling things. Colorized Fallout 3 Vault boy Power Armor perk Posted: 18 Apr 2021 02:01 AM PDT I've been looking everywhere and cannot find an accurate colorized Power Armor Vault boy perk. If anyone can find it, please dm me it, might ever be willing to pay a little money for someone to color one. Need it for tattoo purposes [link] [comments] |
Question about the "Slayer" perk Posted: 18 Apr 2021 02:00 AM PDT So the perk doesnt seem to be reflected in the DPS value of any melee weapons. Because of that the only obvious tell that its functioning properly are the very obvious animation speed changes. However, with weapons like say, the ripper, its impossible to see any change because its attack animation has almost no movement. So my question is, does this perk affect the ripper? I dont really have a good way to test this. The ripper kills everything in the game so fast and procs critical hits so fast that I just cant get an accurate judgement of kill times with it even on the same enemy. [link] [comments] |
I found a picture in fallout 4: Far harbour dlc Posted: 17 Apr 2021 05:25 AM PDT I was wandering around far harbour around the bowling alley near the coastal town, when I jump up into a buildings 2nd floor where on a desk I see a HD picture on a wardrobe, it looks like a real place. I would put a picture but I will not let me, does anyone know anything about it? [link] [comments] |

Vault 88 Water Purifier wont connect to a wire. Posted: 18 Apr 2021 12:18 AM PDT Basically title. I know how the power conduit system works, I know how the walls and floors connect power - I know all that. My problem doesn't have anything to do with that. Whenever I try to connect a wire to the purifier its red. It doesn't register. no matter where I place the conduit. I've placed conduits on the cave ceiling, I've built scaffolding and placed conduits on it there, I have multiple conduits in different directions trying to find a good angle, but no matter what, the purifier just doesn't seem to want to connect a wire to it. It'd be nice if it would power up simply from a nearby vault reactor floor/wall connection with one of those white vault conduits, but it doesn't. It requires a physical wire, which is annoying, because its so high up there. I think the only time I ever managed to get it to work is on vanilla with no mods, and even then I had to do some tricky thing, like saving outside the vault 88 cell, going in, doing the quest over and over again in a particular order until it just "worked" (which for some reason I think related to the mole-rate freeze bug, which happens every time too), but I'm not going to do that. Might as well just build regular purifiers. Bethesda clearly will never fix this issue. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Apr 2021 04:16 PM PDT The title basically explains it. I need to know if she'll forever be hostile, and if she'll come back to my settlement [link] [comments] |
What do you think each game has done well and not so well? Posted: 17 Apr 2021 07:42 PM PDT Most comparisons between the different games are just one side saying X game is better than Y game. Usually they point out all the good from X and all the bad from Y, while ignoring the things that X has done wrong and Y has done right. IMO each game has at least improved on one thing from the last even though it may have gotten worse somewhere else so what's that one thing for you? Out of the games you've played or at least watched playthroughs of (I'll indicate if I haven't actually played the game yet) what do you like and dislike about them? I won't list everything I like and dislike about each game since that'd take way too long but I'll just throw out a few things that I can think of. Fallout 1 (only watched a video series): -Personally, I enjoy how the different cities and areas felt alive. Since there wasn't much exploring of the wasteland itself it was nice to see that there was so much depth in the cites and towns. -As for what I disliked I realize that this isn't a fault of the game itself given the time that it was released I just wish there was more of the wasteland to explore. Fallout 2 (watching a series atm): -I'm not too far into the game yet so I can't say much other than so far it's got the same pros and cons as the first game. Fallout 3: -The first time really exploring the wasteland, for both the series and me, it was the first Fallout title I've ever played although I didn't get very far my first time around. I like the general post apocalyptic vibe of the wasteland, DC had to be the biggest target for nukes on US soil so it makes sense that it's a literal wasteland. -What I didn't like ironically enough was that it was a near total wasteland. Oasis was a breath of fresh air when I first discovered it but it felt like it would've been much nicer if it was expanded just a little bit to add some variety in the areas. New Vegas: -I like almost everything about the factions. The reputation system, major/minor faction distinctions, disguises, etc... the ways that they were used in the story is great along with seeing the relationships between the different factions. -My problem is that there's no reasons to like/dislike a faction, or at least no inherent reasons and that can make it harder to progress the story. Take the legion for example, they're bad. People tell you this, you see Nipton, you can see the camps, etc... but until you wrong them they aren't bad to you. I can understand keeping them friendly if the reputation was permanent but it gets reset later on so why not have them start out hostile to really hammer home that they're the bad guys? Fallout 4: -Power Armor, exploration, and survival. The new power armor system just feels right. Before it was good armor but it was just good armor, 4 really put the "power" in power armor and made it feel like a walking tank. Also, the exploration in the game was great so many small details and locations in between the important areas makes exploring fun, just looking for hidden stories is almost as fun as everything else in the game. Survival is self explanatory, combined with the great exploration it makes for a really fun albeit frustrating experience. -What I didn't like was just the general feeling that certain things are missing. For example the Kellogg "flashbacks" from Nick, it really felt like that was supposed to go somewhere and it didn't. There's other examples but that's once that sticks out to me Fallout 76: -Exploration 2.0. 76 took the exploration from 4 and made it 16x better (hehe). In all seriousness the different biomes combined with the variety of creatures would make even an empty world fun to explore. But one of the games initial weaknesses actually turns into a bit of a strength, with no NPCs at launch stories needed to be told environmentally so there are a lot of great stories just sitting around on notes, holotapes, and terminals across the map. The level of environmental storytelling is something that I hope we get in every Bethesda game from now on, hopefully alongside NPCs from the start however. -One of my problems with 76 is also along the lines of storytelling. It just feels like too many interesting things happened before we got there. The current story is interesting enough but the events pre-game feel like they could've been one of the series' best stories had they been told from the players perspective. There's a lot more that I like and dislike about each game but there's no way that I could get all of it down without writing an entire book. So if you want to know anything else I like or dislike about a game just ask but other than that I'd like to hear from you guys about the pros and cons of each game. [link] [comments] |
Fallout 4 - I need help, badly. Doing Railroad questline and a bug screwed me over. Posted: 17 Apr 2021 11:20 PM PDT [SPOILERS FOR FALLOUT 4 MAIN QUESTLINE] [SPOILERS FOR FALLOUT 4 MAIN QUESTLINE] [SPOILERS FOR FALLOUT 4 MAIN QUESTLINE] Ok, now that that's out of the way, let's get down to it. First things first, I play on Xbox One and I sided with the Railroad for this playthrough. I had just blown up the BOS's Airship during the Quest 'Rocket's Red Glare'. After I'm dropped off, Tom flies away to hide the vertibird. He eventually gets shot down by remaining BOS members, but I assume he still lives because he's an important faction NPC doing a quest action. Now, I go to RR HQ and try to talk to Desdemona, but she keeps repeating the same dialogue, not allowing me to finish the quest. Turns out, Tom's essential to the quest and it won't finish without him, and seeing how he apparently died in the crash, I now have a problem. Seeing as how I no longer had any files from before Tom's death, I use the Cheat Terminal mod to automatically register Rocket's Red Glare as finished. However, this now means that the Nuclear Option quest doesn't present itself - so, my question to you is this - is there anything out there such as mods or literally anything that can trigger the Nuclear Option quest for the Railroad in this situation? Reminder that I do play on Xbox but do own a computer if I need to do something on there. I am desperate and will go to most lengths to achieve my goal. Please help if you can. Edit: I'm pretty sure I can go back to a save right before I used the Cheat Terminal to 'complete' Rocket's Red Glare if anyone's wondering. If there's a mod or something that could bring back Tinker Tom, then maybe that could work when I go back to that save. Also, I just double checked, and apparently it says I failed the Nuclear Option quest? That must have happened when Tom died I guess... [link] [comments] |
Every boss has a line to explain why he's special - Favourite Dialogue Posted: 17 Apr 2021 07:56 AM PDT So I figured I'd ask. Out of the entire Fallout franchise, what is your favourite little line(s) of dialogue? The line you'll find yourself appreciating each time. When I thought about it mine surprised me personally considering all the good NV options. It was the Outcast's Protector Casdin talking about the original BoS "We were collecting the still glowing embers from the ashes of humanity, before civilisation's fire died completely. We didnt worry about saving individual communities, we worried about saving the progress of humanity itself." It just felt so somber when he said it that you could see why the Outcasts had such hardline opinions. [link] [comments] |
