I'm man enough to admit this about Fallout 3 Posted: 08 Apr 2021 01:51 PM PDT I just wanted to boot it up on the Xbox One X and play it for 5 minutes, see how it feels, and then the Nostalgia hit and I felt like a 14 year old kid again, and then "Let's Go Sunning" started playing on the GNR, and oh boy did I almost start crying. Fallout 3 is more of a Nostalgia trip for me, it's the reason who I am today. My love for 50s Era, retro futurism, old Americana ways, and why I might be alive. Fallout 3 is part of my life and soul, I love this game and will defend it to the day I die. [link] [comments] |
Absolutely love how they overhauled power armor. Posted: 08 Apr 2021 11:57 PM PDT Back in 3 and NV days, power armor simply wasn't that intimidating. Sure, the enclave looked bad A**, but here we are in Boston, the size of a damn truck, sprinting into people and sending them flying! It is also fantastic that the pieces can be switched about! I've downloaded so many mods to make my power armor look as customized and realistic to the wasteland as possible! I know F4 isn't a perfect game, but I think they absolutely nailed it in this aspect and I hope I'm not alone. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 08 Apr 2021 09:56 AM PDT Obligatory, I'm a first time NV player and I started writing this post 46 hours ago so it includes my thoughts 4 hours in and 50 hours in. Never have I played a game with such a great reputation system. For once I feel like my choices ACTUALLY MATTER, and not just the small quest related choices, but every little action I take. I'm not mad at all that the NCR is after me, they should be. Frankly I didn't even know the NCR existed but when I joined the Powder Gang and helped them take over a town it drew their attention and next thing I know the Powder Gang base is being raided and I'm in a shootout with the NCR. With no other choice I kill them and save the gang. I didn't know I'd messed up until a day or so later when a troop of heavy armed NCR peeps came and told me I had 3 days to get right with the NCR or there'd be hell to pay. Now that is badass game design. I made enemies with a faction I didn't even know existed until I was in an involuntary shootout where it was either them or me, and it wasn't going to be me. Here's my point. I HATE being rewarded or forgiven for my fuck ups in a game. If I made a bad choice let me suffer the conciquences. NV has ways for me to potentially repair those relationships through a lot of hard work and smooth talking, but the time limit of 3 days meant no matter how fast I booked it to the Vegas Strip I was gunna have to fight at least one group of NCR enforcers. So instead I spent those 3 days prepping for the fight. Stockpiling weapons and ammo, getting better gear, and chosing a location where I would have the advantage in the enevitably battle. I had to shape the way I played the game to compensate for my mistakes and choices. And I loved every second of it. 46 hours later and I'm still having a blast. Being buddy buddy with House has its perks as now my reputation with the NCR has recovered slightly, just enough to not have them actively trying to hunt me down. Basucly I do what I want, make plenty of enemies, and a few friends, and deal with the consiquences as they appear. That is role playing my friends. And I sure wish similar reputation systems were in every Bethesda game. I'm not at the point yet where I'd say NVis the best Fallout game, but it absolutely shines in a few aspects. The reputation system and the enemy design and variety are top notch. [link] [comments] |

What, in your own opinion, is the most memorable location in any fallout game and why? Posted: 08 Apr 2021 04:02 PM PDT For me, it's either Listening Post Bravo or the Museum of Witchcraft, both from F4. I won't spoil either of their unique qualities, but the Museum forces you into an encounter with a high-level enemy at a usually low level, and if you choose the right choice at the end of a certain quest, the Museum brings you into a truly fascinating encounter, and gives you a unique weapon. As for Listening Post Bravo, there's some fourth wall breaking going on, and maybe maybe not possibly probably not not really some supernatural occurrences. [link] [comments] |

What things can you do with friends in 76? Posted: 09 Apr 2021 01:21 AM PDT So recently a friend of mine (and fellow Fallout fan) got Fallout 76 for my slightly younger brother. But the thing is, so far I'm sadly not that interested in playing Fallout 76 together. This is simply because I don't know and don't see many things that we could do together. I've only once played Fallout 76 with my friend that I was talking about earlier. Yeah you can do event missions and daily missions together. Yes you can go explore the wasteland together and kill monsters like the feral ghouls, mole rats and so on. But are there more things to do with friends? Because even though Fallout 76 is multiplayer, to me it feels more like a single player game. But I really do want to play together from time to time. Perhaps even with other Fallout fans. Maybe from this subreddit. I'm still a bit shy towards new people or strangers. But I'm going off track now. [link] [comments] |
Fallout 3 is my favorite game not to play. Posted: 08 Apr 2021 11:49 PM PDT Let me explain. I love Fallout 3's world, DLCs, characters, atmosphere and what it did for Fallout as a franchise. What I do not love is the weapon systems and gameplay loop, now I must say I cannot be too hard on this as the games I'm used to have oceans more content because they came out later and Fallout 3 was not my first Fallout game. But the slow and ridged gameplay of 3 makes me love it and hate it at the same time. Now for context my first Fallout game was New Vegas in 2014. New Vegas has it's problems but the amount of variety in weapons and locations kept me gripped until the end credits and it made me come back for more. Fallout 4 may not have had good story but it's gameplay loop was just my treat, which is the same as 3's but no more going into tunnels to get around and base building atleast for me took up so much of my end gameplay loop. Not to mention legendary weapons made alot of guns really fun. So Fallout 3 I may hate playing you but you'll forever have a place in my heart as one of the greats as while I don't enjoy you while sitting at my keyboard imputing the controls you can bet I love watching others play you and learn everything there is to do with your locations and lore. I just want to share my Fallout 4 short history: The idiot Sole Survivor and the Legendary Bloatfly. Posted: 08 Apr 2021 06:29 AM PDT I killed a Legendary Bloatfly using my critical shot, it rolled down the hill, and I ended looking for the body for more than one hour, never found it. So.... About 0.5% of my game played time was inspecting the floor looking for a dead body. Probably with a Legendary Pipe Pistol or some Legendary Leather left leg. The end. (I'm not going to go into the details that Hancock probably regretted having agreed to travel with me) [link] [comments] |
Pretty much the best timing I've ever had in New Vegas Posted: 08 Apr 2021 07:31 AM PDT So basically I decided to shoot the Boulder City memorial just for fun, and then I got outta there to get to the strip. After I fucked Benny and left the Tops I was greeted by Vulpes Inculta, as per usual. After accepting the invitation, I was also greeted by some dude with an NCR uniform. I thought this was gonna be the guy who gives me the NCR emergency radio, but nope, it was Private Kowalski. While the dude was asking wtf is wrong with me I was laughing my ass off. I wish I recorded it, it was fucking hilarious. [link] [comments] |
Would you want a voiced PC for the next Fallout? Why or why not? Posted: 09 Apr 2021 02:16 AM PDT As the title says. Some people really didn't like the voiced PC of FO4. I havent played FO76 so I don't know if that game has a voiced PC or not. Personally, I liked the voiced PC. Nora more so than Nate. I feel like her voice had a bit more life to it, if that makes sense. And I generally like voiced PC because it makes me feel more immersed; it kind of gives my character life and makes me feel like I'm actually there. What are your thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Is Fallout 3 or New Vegas worth the cost on PS4? Posted: 08 Apr 2021 07:15 PM PDT Bear with me- I'm a little tipsy. Fallout 4 is the only Fallout game I've played, but I absolutely love it. I've played it through tons of times, every quest, have all the DLC, etc. Like many, FO4 has shepherded me through many rough times and I'll always play it. I'll never NOT love it. That being said, everyone raves about FO 3 and NV and I want to experience them but unfortunately I only have a PS4 and no hope of building a PC or buying a PS5 until prices come down/things become available. The games are each 100 bucks through the Playstation store to download and I'm balking at the price. I tried Playstation Live (edit: PSNow) or whatever it is where you can essentially pay monthly to stream games but my apartment internet doesn't cope well, and both games have been too laggy to play. (Does downloading fix that??) Idk. I'm drunk and it prolly won't take much to convince me, but I need fresh Fallout in my life. Which game do I blow 100 bucks on? (Or is there a better way?!) F4 Minuteman play through - main base / outpost Posted: 08 Apr 2021 06:18 PM PDT Alright so I'm about to start a minuteman play through, so of course I'll build up sanctuary, but I'm wondering where/what I should use as a personal base / arsenal to store my power armor, crafting stations, and the like. Any thoughts / ideas? [link] [comments] |

the pacify and intimidator perk in regards to enemy Posted: 08 Apr 2021 11:06 PM PDT So I have a bit of a tricky question. What I want to know is, let's say if the SS (Nora) and Preston are in a relationship and Preston is accompanying his girlfriend around the Commonwealth. Now let's say Nora uses pacify on some random raider guy that she comes across while in the presence of Preston. Would Preston find that kinda odd that she is taking control of this man who is a raider, telling him what to do i.e ordering him around with commands such as: "Go there" or "Go" and the raider guy responds with "Yes ma'am," how exactly would Preston respond to that? Glitched on Nuclear Option (Brotherhood) Posted: 08 Apr 2021 10:58 PM PDT Progressed through bio lab all fine, but im stuck at the door to "Advanced Systems" with the elevator. The elevator denies me access and so i cant go to the director, which i think im supposed to? Last save is several hours ago as ive been running in circles for about an hour. How do i get out? There's no one to kill other than a scientist in a glass hallway, which i cant shoot through nor get to. PLEASE HELP. [link] [comments] |
Troubles with Oswald the Outrageous Posted: 08 Apr 2021 10:36 PM PDT [Fallout 4 - Nuka-World DLC] I'm having a slight issue with Oswald the Outrageous. I played all his games, killed many of his "friends", and met him atop King Cola's Castle, but can't seem to get him to die. I've used quite a few different weapons, a combat shotgun, combat rifle, assault rifle, explosive smg, sniper rifle, an Institute rifle, even a sledgehammer and a Mr Handy Buzz Blade. I rip him to shreds but he just doesn't die, then he teleports and regains all his health. The game is acting as if he's an essential character. Please help, I've done this three times over! Lower-end pc fallout 4 (more of a tech question) Posted: 08 Apr 2021 10:31 PM PDT so i'm getting a prebuilt with a gtx980, and ill prob use mods (e.g a lot of weapon mods, small graphics improvements, grass mods, building mods, and armor mods, well the main ones anyway) I've been playing xbox modded for a while before this. what mods would you recommend that i could run well with no major frame dips and might be exclusive to only pc? or hell, just high-file size mods cause xbox's 2gb limit is... limiting. and so i want to experience mods ive seen on youtube that i sadly could not access in my xbox days. share your best! :) [link] [comments] |

What version of Fallout 3 should I get? Posted: 08 Apr 2021 02:31 PM PDT So I want to get Fallout 3 sometime in the future. Since it's not on PS4, I'm going to get it on PC. But there's 2 versions on Steam. One is the 'classic' Fallout 3, and the other is the game of the year edition. With the last one you get all the DLC. With the 'classic' version, you'll still need to get the DLC if you want to play the game with them. On that version Steam tells me that the game is not optimized for Windows 7 and later. The game of the year edition doesn't say that, but in the reviews section, people say that you need mods to get the game to run properly or whatever. But with the 'classic' version I also read that there are issues with launching the game or running the game. So does it really matter which one I get? The game of the year edition does seem better to get, since you'll also get all DLC with it. PS: I currently own Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. With Fallout 4 I've already completed the main story, and I'm planning on playing it again sometime in the future, when I've gotten all the DLC for it. Then I will replay all story missions but I'll also do all side missions and such. Including those of the DLC's of course. Before I get those DLC's and Fallout 3, I'm planning on getting Fallout New Vegas first. Fallout 1 and 2 are also on my wishlist. [link] [comments] |
Nuka World Commonwealth expansion. Posted: 08 Apr 2021 12:08 PM PDT Ok so on my current save I've been working with the Minutemen to help settlements thinking that once I get to the point in Nuka-World where I expand to the Commonwealth those new settlements should be available to take over/supply the new ones. Is this a good method or would it be easier to just skip helping Preston & go about it when the settlements have had no help [link] [comments] |
