    Intelligence of robots

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 11:49 AM PST

There are a lot of robots in the Fallout universe of varying intelligence, but this is basically my headcanon for the intelligence of each one:

    1. Robobrains, they literally have human brains, so they probably have the highest intelligence out of all robots.
    2. Gen 3 Synths, barely even qualify as AI since they're more organic than machine.
    3. Gen 2.5 synths, only 2 are known in game (DiMa and Nick), but they appear to be just as intelligent as humans.
    4. Unique Modified robots with forms of intelligence such as Primm Slim or KLE-0, they look like they have a single personality that is incapable of being developed.
    5. Mister Handies, appear to be tied with the Modified Robots in the most advanced cases but most units appear to be unintelligent.
    6. Securitrons, there are special units here too like Yes Man or Victor but most appear to have a primitive form of intelligence, just enough to hold a conversation and use basic problem-solving skills.
    7. Cyberdogs, basically have the same intelligence as dogs. (Apparently some have enough intelligence to hold conversations but that counts as a unique modified robot).
    8. Protectrons, have reprogrammable AI and can hold conversations, but are incredibly stupid otherwise.
    9. Liberty Prime, it frequently says patriotic sayings but these appear to be pre-recorded.
    10. Sentry Bots, have basically no intelligence beyond "guard point A, attack B."
    11. Eyebots, basically just hovering radios.

    Unknowns:

    • Assaultrons, only three intelligent Assaultrons appear, 2 of which are confirmed to be unique models, and the other is implied to be a part of the Railroad, meaning she could also be modified.
    • Gen 1/2 synths. Appear to be incredibly stupid, but their actual intelligence is unknown.

If anyone has any feedback, let me know.

What happens to Legion soldiers who can no longer fight?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 08:31 PM PST

From my understanding soldiers within the Legion army are slaves to Caesar. Their purpose is to die for him and to benefit the nation. But what happens to soldiers who can no longer fight due to injuries or age?

What first comes to mind is the possibility that Caesar still throws his soldiers to their deaths. However, even as some sort of meat shield I think it can be considered a bad strategy. Why waste equipment or energy to soldiers who are doomed to fail? A better strategy would be to relocate these expenditures to different areas. Maybe a soldier too injured could teach/train the younger generation of legionnaires? The soldiers retiring of age may have a lot of experience. Perhaps they could fill roles as generals or some sort of advisors?

If Caesar's Legion won the battle and turned the Mojave Wasteland into their capital I believe we'd see a nation a lot closer to Rome. Wasn't the reason for why soldiers kept on fighting was to continue its stable expansion to become an actual nation? Perhaps once they completed that goal we'd have more relax policies? Perhaps for trade, diplomacy etc.

Want to hear your guys thoughts.

Would the legion have considered using intelligent deathclaws had they gotten the chance?

    NCR - Enclave War questions

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 03:05 PM PST

I'm very confused about this war.

So according to the backstory, NCR destroyed Navarro after the destruction of the Enclave Oil Rig. Seems straight forward, but apparently Arcade Gannon was born in Navarro in 2246, about four years after the destruction of the oil rig. And since Arcade seems to have childhood memories of growing up on Navarro, that would mean the NCR waited approximately 10-ish years to sack Navarro. Why did they wait so long?

Another problem is the death of Mark Gannon. He was said to have died in combat, presumably from the war with the NCR. But the majority of the Enclave either fled and tried to integrate into the NCR or headed out east, leaving the base lightly garrisoned. Not only that, but according to Arcade, Daisy flew Mark out on his last mission, implying they even had Vertibirds and plenty of oil available. How did the western Enclave have enough power to hold their own for years after the destruction of the oil rig?

Is there anything special about Courier 6? If it were some other courier would literally everything be different or is this more of the destiny for anyone entrusted with carrying the chip? Would Benny go after Courier 5?

Are BOS members even allowed to go on the strip? Would a scribe on assignment be caught by the securitrons for some reason?

How are more super mutants made

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 07:22 PM PST

Like they're in Boston and dc and everywhere basically and I don't deny that they're a smart enough species to move across the country but if the master and F.E.V is the only way to make more why is there so many.
