I think a Rural set fallout game could be very interesting. Posted: 15 Oct 2020 09:45 AM PDT What I mean is a fallout game that doesn't revolve around a major urban center like they have before. In my opinion going around in the cities is the worst part of any fallout game, the spaces are cramped and there is little room for creativity in a fight, its always just stand at one end of the street and shoot the 3 raiders there. But a rural fallout could allow for some more varied combat as you can maneuver through the brush or around the rocks to get a better firing position or better cover. Possible game locations: The Midwest- As a Midwesterner I can say that a fallout game set in the thick woods and farm land of Wisconsin or Michigan could be real fun. The Rockies- Really mountainous terrain could provide a fresh sort of verticality to fallout games. Wyoming/Montana/The Dakotas- The space population mixed with flat lands and wipe open spaces could really open up gameplay possibilities, maybe even adding horses to maneuver around for something truly unique. Plus maybe if they go this route we could see the Great Khans as alluded to in the ending to Fallout NV. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 15 Oct 2020 03:44 PM PDT I was just thinking about this while playing Fallout 3. I feel that while sure a remake for either game would be cool, it's just not what I, and I feel like most people, actually want. I feel the right way to go about this would be to remaster both games and include mod support. And here's why I feel this way as opposed to getting full remakes
Lastly, I can't speak for everyone but personally I don't mind the clunky feel of 3 and New Vegas. Sure it could easily be tweaked to feel better but I certainly have never complained. And most issues like 3 not having proper iron sights could easily be remedied with a remaster, or with mods. I just feel a remake for either game would be unnecessary, though I guess I could understand a New Vegas remake given how much got cut from the game given their time restraints. Edit: It's also good to point out that a remaster would cost significantly less than a remake, likely around $30-$40 whereas a remake would likely cost the same as a new game, and with next gen games being $70 I definitely don't think many people would want to shell out that kind of money for it, and even on current gen $60 still sounds steep (IMO) [link] [comments] |
I made a pyrography portrait of Mr. House Posted: 16 Oct 2020 02:16 AM PDT I just want to share the Image. I never thought hed be my Favorite characters in fallout new vegas. https://www.instagram.com/p/CGYJHv8lA35/?igshid=1kmrhv3uwihja [link] [comments] |

The issue with the whole 'Bethesda ignores New Vegas' narrative Posted: 15 Oct 2020 01:11 PM PDT Time and time again, I see people say that Bethesda ignores New Vegas because apparently Obsidian did a way better game than they ever could in 18 months, despite the fact that Bethesda did most of their work since New Vegas is literally Fallout 3.5 and Obsidian had been brainstorming the story for almost a decade. Lemme break it down why this little 'theory' is utter bullshit. 1) First of all, do any of the people that believe this theory even know the sheer scale of the United Scales? Vegas is 3000 miles away from Boston and in a world where pre-War technology like satellites are barely hanging by a thread or non-functional. We live in an age where we can get near instant information about events in other parts of the country or world. But we don't live in post-War America. 2) To continue from my previous point, the sheer scale of the country would make inter-continental communication near impossible. Yes there are some factions that may have access to it but the vast majority of the Wastelander population wouldn't. Hell, Roger Maxson was barely able to even speak with his old pal Taggerdy and that satellite he was using still shut down after a while. 3) Again, the sheer scale would take news of events in other regions a long time to even make it. And even if, why would anyone bring it up. Like for example, what if in Fallout 4 you just come across a random Wastelander who says 'I heard about two massive factions duking it out in the Mojave'. Firstly, why would he even care about it to even mention it. I'm sure he's more concerned about the issues in the Commonwealth that can affect him rather than care about a War thousands of miles away that 100% won't concern him. 4) Also keep in mind that Coast-to-Coast travel is pretty rare as post-War America is a nightmare. This is a post-War country filled with mutants, possible radioactive effects like radstorms, and even hostile raiders and tribals. That'd be enough to discourage the vast majority of travelers from even going far. Now even despite all that, Bethesda STILL brings up stuff or lore bits that New Vegas players and even some Fallout 1/2 players would recognize 1) Fixer is mentioned. 2) Vera Keyes is mentioned in Far Harbor 3) Nuka Cola Victory and Clear as well as Sunset Sarsaparilla are shown and mentioned in Nuka World. Remember, they only appear in New Vegas 4) Robert House is mentioned by Deacon in 4 and is referenced in 76. 5) The Ultra Luxe is name dropped in a newspaper article in 76 about a shootout that occurred before the bombs fell. 6) NCR, one of the endgame factions, is shown in Kellogg's memories and even its formation was shown while also name dropping Aradesh. There's more than that but those are what I remember. Point is, its funny how people think they ignore it when not mentioning its events is absolutely the best way to go about it since its so far away, its irrelevant to 4's plot. AND even then, they still bring up West Coast elements and even things from New Vegas as their way of saying 'Yes, New Vegas is canon and always has. There's a reason why we're on the East Coast anyways'. [link] [comments] |
Fallout 4 super mutants or fallout 3 super mutants? Posted: 16 Oct 2020 01:33 AM PDT Which one did you prefer, for me it was the fallout 3 ones, they're were a lot scarier looking, the ones in fo4 look stupid and fat. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 15 Oct 2020 12:28 PM PDT I often see recurring post themes; when will the next FO game come and where will it be? Sadly we can be pretty confident it won't be for a very long time, games now take much longer than before in development so turn around for studios have been longer and longer plus we know that we have at least Starfield and ES6 that will be released before then. So what I want to share with anyone who is not aware, some upcoming work from the modding community that seemingly are aiming to provide some pretty huge mods for FO4 that look to boast at a minimum large DLC experiences with new never before explored parts of the world, new factions and stories and essentially a chance to scratch that FO itch. I am in no way involved with any of these projects, I'm just a fallout fan that sees the desire from the community and wants these projects to be realized while we wait and for other people to be aware of them. The first one isn't a new experience as such but they are promising an old and much loved experience to be completed updated for folks to enjoy once again, that is FO4: New Vegas Have you ever wondered how other parts of the world are doing post the bombs? Well there is a team working on telling a story set in London, from what I can tell they have tapped into the vibe and aesthetic very nicely with callbacks to 60's mods and rockers, some 80's punk scene and references to the blue bloodied aristocracy having survived. This looks like it is shaping up nicely to be a great fallout experience. And since many have expressed no interest in Bethesda ever doing a fallout abroad then be at peace, this experience if completed comes at no cost to Bethesda's time and resources. Coming back to the states and the east coast, the next team are looking to bring something from further south than Bethesda has gone and providing fans with a Miami experience. The couple videos that exist for this one showcase some pretty interesting locales and some exotic looking wildlife. The main premise of the story that has been shared seems to revolve around the decline of a slaving society and the rise of a new automobile faction, but it alludes to more still. The last huge mod in development here takes us to the opposite end of the country and to the Seattle area, fallout Cascadia, taking place soMe 40 years after the events of FO4, the region is controlled by a society that can hold its own against the NCR, whose territory has expanded as far north and come to a halt at this new factions border, there is also a Canadian faction called the red leafs that are engaged in conflict with this new nation as well. Your character is known as 'the drifter'. There are some really cool screenshots of creatures and other assets they have been working on and this looks really cool. https://www.falloutcascadia.com The release date of these mods for folks outside of the development teams is anyone's guess. Like a lot of ambitious projects by volunteers there is always the potential that the project is never realized at all. Judging by all the work that is already been done these teams have invested so much already, to not see them see the light of day would be awful so I am optimistic. If anyone knows of any other projects of this ambition I would love to hear about them. If these projects are new to you I am happy to make you aware of them. A big thank you to the modding community and all the awesome things you have done for this game from patches and quality of like fixes to projects like these that expand upon and add so much to the games. Good luck in your endeavors! [link] [comments] |
New Vegas Hardcore Mode vs Fallout 4 Survival Mode Posted: 16 Oct 2020 02:33 AM PDT Hardcore mode for New Vegas was infinitely more enjoyable than survival mode for Fallout 4. In theory they should be the same (Harder enemies, lower carry options, fatigue/hunger/thirst/sickness etc) but the fact that you can't save outside of a bed in Fallout 4 and that game being so prone to crashes makes for honestly a very unenjoyable experience. This is my personal opinion but I am curious as to what other peoples opinions are regarding both modes. [link] [comments] |

Real talk: Should Synths be treated like humans? (Fallout 4) Posted: 15 Oct 2020 11:50 AM PDT After playing through Fallout 4 with each faction, you really get a wide array of viewpoints regarding synths. I'm sorta conflicted on how I view them. While I feel like conscience and free-will basically equal "life", I also acknowledge that they are machines, and could be programmed to act a certain way. What do you guys think? [link] [comments] |
What fallout themed gift would you guys (and gals) enjoy? Posted: 16 Oct 2020 12:37 AM PDT So my roommate/best friend loves literally anything and everything from the fallout series and in about 2 months here he is coming back from the army. So i really want to get him something special for when he comes back but i know almost nothing about the game. [link] [comments] |

Idea for a funny Wild Wasteland Encounter Posted: 15 Oct 2020 03:45 PM PDT If someone had this idea already, sorry. Still wanna share this idea that came to mind. Would love to see it in a future Fallout game with the Wild Wasteland Perk. You find a ghoul named "King", and he's accompanied by 4 synths in various stages of disrepair. He's voiced by someone who can do a convincing British accent (say, Simon Pegg), and he asks your help to visit 12 dilapidated buildings in some big town, and for every location, he rewards you with some aged, radioactive Pints. Surely you can figure out the reference. [link] [comments] |

Fallout 4 bug on xbox one. Chrome color disappeared? Posted: 15 Oct 2020 09:10 PM PDT Hi, So I play on Xbox and ever since downloading the newest update ( I think it s from Jan, 2019?) every time I turn my Xbox on the shiny chrome colors from aluminum cans, guns, turrets and robots etc are all a dull grey color or almost black. I found out its from the latest update because I reinstalled the game awhile back and chose to play offline and not install the update. I had been playing for over a month and it was fine. Decided to try it again and reinstall update and play online. Now it cam back right away. I don't play with any mods and it still came back after the update. Why does this keep happening and how can I contact Bethesda about this? Thanks for any suggestions. [link] [comments] |
