Something I haven’t seen anyone talk or appreciate about this game: every expansion experiments with a different genre.

    Posted: 12 Jul 2020 09:07 PM PDT

I've been playing arkane studios' Prey and dishonored recently, fantastic games that I highly recommended. It was my first foray into the immersive sim RPG subgenre. And now it's probably my favorite type of game.

It made me realize that Dead Money was basically obsidian's attempt at an immersive sim.

From there I realized that honest hearts feels a lot like a far cry style open-world shooter. Old world blues is a "Bethesda game". And lonesome road is a linear action game/first person shooter. With each of the DLC's the devs at obsidian were able to experiment with different styles of game and each one was a success. It's a testament to their talent

For context, when I say "Bethesda game", I mean it as a genre, games that feel like Skyrim or fallout 4... the Michael Bay of gaming: a mile wide, an inch deep, looks expensive, because it is expensive,

    What npcs aren’t killable?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 05:49 AM PDT

I know kids and companions can't unless you personally kill the companions but what else can't die?

Bluescreening every time I try loading a save

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 01:17 AM PDT

This has never happened before. Whenever I try loading my most recent save, my CPU fan goes apeshit and my CPU load goes through the roof and I immediately bluescreen. My entire pc literally shits itself. Is this a common bug?

Edit: Seems like reducing my CPU OC frequency fixed it so maybe check ur overclock if this is happening to you.

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 12:38 AM PDT

As you can tell from the title, I am playing Dead Money for the first time. To be honest, this is the first time I've gotten dlc for a fallout game. If you guys can give me some beginners tips I would be very grateful. Thank you.
