In Fallout 3, how strong were the enclave ? And how strong are they whe compared to the brotherhood of steel ?

Were they strong enough that without the help of the lone wanderer they would have won the war ? Is really the lone wanderer that strong to turn the tables ? Or is the lone wanderer the feather who broke the enclave's back ? Or maybe it's just liberty prime ?

What is essential reading for a newcomer?

    Posted: 29 Jul 2020 12:03 AM PDT

Recently I've been interested in diving deeper into the fallout lore but im unsure where to start. Ive played most of the main games so I have basic knowledge of the lore. Ive also heard of the Fallout bible, is it important?

Is there only barebone information on the Desert Rangers pre-unification

    Posted: 28 Jul 2020 10:47 PM PDT

I only just learned that the Ranger Unification act happened 10 years before New Vegas' events.

I'm kinda disappointed on the amount of stories/anecdotes about the Desert Rangers (also the Vet Rangers but ya know) because they seem so interesting but as far as I could find, it's just how they were a group of vigilante law, and the Legion forcing them into a rough spot. I wanna hear more about them... Though the lack of information is probably what mskes them so interesting and gives them a mythic status to the other wastelanders

Furthermore are there any good stories l, Canon or no, to read about either version? The survivalist's journals are great but idk, got a hankering

Why is there active nuclear waste in fallout?

    Posted: 28 Jul 2020 11:32 PM PDT

Outside of the mass fusion disposal site there is a large loader with barrels of nuclear waste. Only fusion was used the, so why is there nuclear waste? And also why is the waste active? Nuclear waste doesn't have a long half life

Does the Enclave still have any relevance in Wasteland politics as of Fallout 4?

    Posted: 29 Jul 2020 01:58 AM PDT

In New Vegas, we see the Enclave has evaporated and no longer exists in any meaningful way in the West after Navarro was sieged by the NCR and Brotherhood. The Enclave is destroyed in Fallout 3 on the East Coast by the Lone Wander and the Brotherhood. The Enclave has been routed in most places but ED-E's voice logs prove that the Enclave has some presence in Chicago. I can't imagine the Enclave is just sitting around in Chicago doing nothing, especially considering that the courier could very well have convinced the Enclave remnants in the West to join in the second battle of hoover dam. I would imagine that would make quite a splash, no?
