The return of the Enclave in Fallout 76 Posted: 07 Jun 2020 07:32 AM PDT Given the Brotherhood of Steel have been confirmed to be returning to Appalachia. Would it not be interesting if the Enclave also did so? Imagine the players given an option of choosing to align with either side and actually include a PVP mechanic in which when active, Brotherhood of Steel members and Enclave members can kill eachother on sight for rewards. Kind of like the opposite of Passive mode. Is this not what everyone imagined when it was stated Factions were added to the game? Imagine if we put this forward to Bethesda and they -actually- listened. It would work if for any reason it would be totally optional to be "On Duty" for your faction. Whilst "On Duty" you would be invisible on the map and be given fetch quests around and about the map which would also cross paths with the opposing faction who would quite often be given the same one. I just learned you can change Fallout 4's speech check colors. Posted: 07 Jun 2020 04:37 PM PDT One of the things in Fallout 4 that's bothered me a lot is the color of the dialog speech checks when in power armor. In the evening I have my screen set to redden up a bit, and the difference between the yellows and oranges get muddied. I know it's possible to change the power armor HUD color completely through mods, and I have, but that started me on trying to figure out if it was possible to change the colors at all. And today I found out it is! You can also change some of the other yellow and red HUD elements, though I wasn't able to find a way to change the red outline colors in Workshop mode even after looking through a string dump someone made. I've had a lot of friends that are colorblind, and although I guess one fix is to change the HUD to white, I guess(?), for some people, I just thought I'd share what I found since I had to search for a while to find it. I uploaded a picture to Imgur for.. probably little reason but I guess just to show that you can do it in the ini files. [Picture] The settings are under [Interface] and you can put them in the Fallout4Custom.ini. The source I found the settings on said the warning colors go under [Workshop], but they don't, they go under [Interface], and I found that out by looking through the INI setting dump after it didn't work. I don't want a "which faction rules the wasteland" main quest for fallout 5 Posted: 07 Jun 2020 04:29 PM PDT Fallout 4 and Fallout: New Vegas already have that kind of main quest so I hope we get something new to experience, maybe you have to help the people of whatever wasteland region you're in survive a natural disaster or something. Just something new and fun [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jun 2020 09:37 PM PDT I love Fallout, especially the lore, but I've had difficulty getting into the first two installments in the franchise. I really want to play them, but I find the gameplay to be sort of clunky and at times confusing. If anyone has tips or suggestions for someone that is used to Fallout NV/3/4, I would greatly appreciate it! [link] [comments] |
What Fallout merch would you pay good money for? Posted: 07 Jun 2020 10:08 PM PDT Personally, I'd love a Fasnacht Collectron, a Mothman, and Gulper plushes. How about you? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jun 2020 09:13 PM PDT My husband's birthday is coming up and I want to go all out decorating the house with Fallout themed stuff because it's his favorite game series. I know some about the games because I've played a little and of course listened to him talk about it, but I'm not familiar enough with the games myself to think of really cool creative decorations I can make. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Jun 2020 03:02 AM PDT I bought Fallout 4 yesterday, and, after doing EVERYTHING I could, the game won't stop crashing. I can only get to the scene where I have to go in the vault, sometimes I can get past the couple with the suitcase, but after that, the game crashes with no error. If that helps, here is my setup: GPU: RTX 2060 Ventus (Overclocked) Ram: 32gb CPU: Core i7 9700k (Overclocked) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jun 2020 05:51 AM PDT Bethesda allowed obsidian to make fallout new vegas back in 2007-2010. Obsidian created it in 18 months and it was an amazing game. Why did bethesda let obsidian make a fallout game in the first place? And why arent they allowing them to do another? Surely it benefits everyone. Bethesda gets a pretty big cut of the profit and obsidian gets to make another amazing game. Another good rpg story driven fallout game created by obsidian would draw a lot more people to fallout franchise if it did well too. Not to mention it would allow bethesda to work on their baby the elderscrolls as soon as their own fallout game launch, and leave a new fallout game up to another company familiar with it. Its a win for the players as well. We all know that a new elder scrolls game or fallout would make billions for bethesda. Skyrim sold over 25 million copies and made Bethesda over a billion while fallout 4 made them 2 billion. So wouldnt it be profitable to try and make them faster and by faster i mean maybe 3-4 years between games... Instead of waiting a decade or so for the next fallout game (because bethesda likes to take their sweet time), they could have 2 companies make fo games kinda like how COD has Treyarch and Activision releasing COD games every year. That strategy has been working for over a decade with each CoD making billions. Of course in this scenario it could be every 3 or even 4 years for fallout games. Maybe thats a horrible idea though... Check out this FO4 painting my lady made me Posted: 07 Jun 2020 12:30 PM PDT This is on 3x5' plywood and will go perfect in my music studio So far none of my friends have recognized it, I figured some folks here would. [link] [comments] |
Synth Shaun is glitched for me. Posted: 08 Jun 2020 02:37 AM PDT I just finished fallout 4 again but this time I saw synth Shaun was still in the limp position but will interact with my character, is this a glitch or do I have to wait for something? Or if it is a glitch, how do I fix it? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jun 2020 02:23 PM PDT k so I've played through Fallout 4 enough times to know the Boston Commonwealth almost as well as the capital wasteland..but I recently started a new playthrough and noticed when you're raiding fort Hagen to confront Kellogg, he offers a deal over the intercom, just before the room he's in, that goes unacknowledged... he says something like "You are messing with things far beyond your comprehension, blah blah l'll give you one last chance to turn..around..and..LEAVE" So basically I'm wondering.. Is there a way to acknowledge this deal? mod or otherwise? It would be a great "different character role" mod or just a way to avert from the main questline or skip it ahead. Just a general discussion I suppose lol any links for mods or tips for doing this naturally would be appreciated! P.S. this is my first Reddit post ever besides a comment on something [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Jun 2020 03:33 AM PDT So I have fallout 4 via steam, but I wanted to play fallout 3 and fallout 3 New Vegas as well. I was thinking of purchasing them on steam, however from what I read online, the steam versions do not work? Is this true? Or is this old info and they work fine now? [link] [comments] |
Trip to the stars/hubologist quest final step Posted: 08 Jun 2020 01:18 AM PDT Ok I'll try to avoid spoilers (dunno the black out command). Im at the final stage of the quest but after i activate the machine it never stops, I have the option to wait but the only way out of the activation is to move. At which stage its stuck telling me to activate again but wont work... Any suggestions? Already lost an hour reloading to this [link] [comments] |
Bloody Mess is Love, Bloody Mess is life Posted: 08 Jun 2020 12:49 AM PDT There are few things more satisfying then Shooting somebody in the leg and his head blows off or punching someone with Spiked Knuckles and their body dismantles around the entire Floor. Fun! I also started my first Fallout 1 Playthrough and took Bloody Mess as a trait. I may be a Monster, but damn am I a happy Monster. [link] [comments] |
TIL in Fallout 4 if you throw a grenade into water you get a large water explosion Posted: 07 Jun 2020 04:25 PM PDT I feel silly for only just discovering this after 900 hours of play. I tend to play immersively so not in the habit of throwing live grenades into the ocean. But on this occasion I was messing around, pressed the wrong hotkey, and got myself a nice surprise. I want to hear about the most surprising things you discovered in your fallout playthroughs? The other ones for me were the mined molerat and the Raider hideout where severed heads were being used to shoot hoops. [link] [comments] |

Attacked Fort Independence WAY to early Posted: 07 Jun 2020 09:35 PM PDT Okay so i got this game today and have put in about 4 hours into it before making my first mistake. As the title says i attacked The Castle at about hour 3 and cant get out of the death loop. My last save is about hour 2. My question is is there any way to get past this or cause the 4 minutemen there to leave? Thanks for any help. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jun 2020 07:52 PM PDT I've seen a lot of talk lately, discussions on what people want to see in fallout 5. one thing I love is rugged weather. I know seasons are rarely implemented in games, as it's kind of a long term cycle, but fallout definitely uses regions, and skyrim had really good regions, ranging from the bitter north to warm south. in this case though, I think something simple would be interesting, perhaps a towering mountain/range along one border, where you can explore a higher, colder wasteland with its own paths, caves, and settlements [link] [comments] |
What city/state would you like to see the next fallout be set in? Posted: 07 Jun 2020 07:11 PM PDT Personally, I'd love to see something set out West again, maybe involving the NCR/Legion dichotomy from a different location. It would be very ambitious, but I also think a Fallout set in NYC could be pretty cool as well. I want to hear yours! [link] [comments] |
What is your favourite thing that the first person fallout games do? Posted: 07 Jun 2020 01:18 PM PDT For me it's definitely the environmental storytelling. I just love going into bombed out bunkers, and facilities, and looking at what's the placement of different objects and other things and just imagining what happened there. [link] [comments] |
Retcons in Fallout 4 that 76 disregarded? Posted: 08 Jun 2020 12:25 AM PDT Does anyone know how much of Fallout 4's retcons were retconned back in 76? One thing in particular that I know is Jet being in Pre-War areas, while 76's Appalachia doesn't even have Jet. [link] [comments] |
Fallout 1 Boneyard Deathclaw Help Posted: 08 Jun 2020 12:25 AM PDT Apologies for formatting, on mobile. I was doing the quests in The LA Boneyard. At the moment I was doing the quests for The Blades, so I accepted The Gun Runners' deathclaw quest. However, I discovered that the area transition placed me, and my companions, in the middle of three deathclaws. If I don't die, then my companions do, way before I kill a single deathclaw. I can dismiss Tycho and Ian, but not Dogmeat. And I can't rest at The Gun Runners for some reason. I am completely at a loss as what to do. I don't want to lose any of my companions. Any advice?
