Just Got my First Confirmed Human Kill

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 06:32 PM PDT

I started a new playthrough as "Dr. Winslow." A smart, cocky son of a doctor who learned the medicine and science trades from dear old dad. Being cocky ended when dad escaped from the vault. He couldn't get himself to hurt the people he grew up with when the vault he grew up in went into disarray. He escaped into the wastes, barely.

After wandering for a few days he avoided raider bands and other humans not knowing how people in the wastes would react to a pale and frail vault dweller. He eventually came upon the minefield and narrowly avoided getting picked off by the sniper who had the drop on him. He did pick up a good amount of the mines while moving from cover to cover. For now Dr. Winslow continued to gain more medical experience as well as getting better with explosives. He learned that blowing up molerats was his best source of food for now.

He made his way to Megaton for the first time and decided to help Moira with the wasteland survival guide. She has him get irradiated, injured and eventually test out a new repellent on mole rats. Coincidentally it was the Dr.'s favorite food that he's found in the wastes so far. After dawning a hazmat suit gifted by Moira he agrees and travels to the Anchorage Memorial almost getting chewed up and spit out by giant mutants armed with a mini gun. He barely escaped by swimming underwater while bullets peppered the water above him and earth under him.

He crawled to shore bloody and battered and reluctantly entered the memorial. The molerats inside were already very pissed off and didn't hesitate to attack the poor Dr. As he flailed and whipped the rats with a stick dipped in the stinky repellent. To his surprise the heads of the molerats exploded by the scent of the repellent. The Dr. Had enough food for weeks.

Inside the same tunnels as the rats the Dr. peeked out from a corner into a metro tunnel filled with landmines and a very dirty man named Rocksalt. Who greeted the good Dr. with shotgun shells and angry words. The Dr. decided he had no choice. Rocksalt must die. He retreated into the tunnels and laid down several mines while Rocksalt chased him down. "Beep beep beep beep" was echoing through the tunnel followed by a loud blast. The Dr. Looked back to see Rocksalts lifeless body missing both his legs rolling down the subway tunnel. The Dr. passed out after studying the man's lifeless corpse.

Is creating compounds at the My First Laboratory as abusive as it seems?

This housing improvement can produce one free consumable valued between 10 and 25 caps every 24 hours. You naturally can skip this period by waiting, pick your chem and repeat ad infinitum, as far as I can see. In real time, every 30 seconds you can earn a weightless item worth around 15 caps. I can't imagine much easier money-making opportunities with no or insignificant upkeep costs and can see that players with no access to console commands and little regard to the game balance could make heavy use of this exploit.
