My sons are entering the fallout world. Posted: 20 Mar 2020 04:32 PM PDT I have twin sons who turned 10 a few months ago. They've been begging me to play fallout for a couple years now, but that's always been a no from me dog because, well, you know, the horrors and what not. Well a couple days ago I get a prerecorded call from the county school dude who informed us that there will, in fact, be no school for a month. "Oh shit," I thought. Bored kids. Socially distancing for a straight month. In my house! One of them has an Xbox 360 my lady and I gave them when we upgraded many years ago in his room while the other kid has a second xb1 in his room that they've shared, along with the room, until recently when circumstances led us to give xb360 the room their aunt used to reside in. Well, xb360 kid asked if he's allowed to play New Vegas the other day because he's bored with his other games. The same afternoon xb1 kid asks if he can play fallout 4. I finally said yes to both and honestly it's been a non stop two days of solid father-son bonding. It's been so long since I've played either that I had forgotten just how much I truly love both of those games. The deep, compelling narrative of New Vegas. The beautiful world and music and, yes, settlement building of 4. It's all so glorious and now they're starting to appreciate what gems these games really are. I'm fielding questions about what a bone orchard is, what to scrap to get ceramic, whether or not Victor is a bad guy, whether or not I feel bad for Codsworth, whether or not they should shoot the powder gangers, where to find fusion cores, the works. Now, you gotta remember that these kids are ten years old. They're not necessarily prepared for the faction karma of New Vegas. I mean, xb360 kid went and got himself vilified in Goodsprings in the time it took me to take a shit. The other one is already dressed in full raider gear and has zero ammo, bobby pins, stimpacks... anything really. But he's loaded up on raw molerat meat. Lol This is gonna be a fun lockdown, I think. I'm still working and they're gonna have their online assignments through iready and such, but it's nice to know they're taking a genuine interest in their father's favorite game franchise of all time. I mean, I bought the goddamn power armor edition of 76. The least this world owes me is some fallout themed bonding with my kids, right? [link] [comments] |
If super mutant behemoths had homes Posted: 20 Mar 2020 10:02 AM PDT Video Tour: https://youtu.be/uxdD4gDTfXU Imgur library: https://imgur.com/a/Vevdlof I decided to explore what it might look like if a super mutant behemoth had a home and so I spent a couple months working up this concept, I hope you enjoy! People hoarding toilet paper, but we know it's all about duct tape and super glue Posted: 20 Mar 2020 09:59 PM PDT For real - broke my finger, hospitals on lock down, I use a plastic knife, break into 2, splint my finger and wrap duct tape around it. 2 weeks later, the mcgyver splint has survived gym sessions, showers, hand washing with soap, etc. Fallout teaches real survival skills yo [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2020 06:45 PM PDT I knew doing a luck build was going to be interesting but that was crazy lucky. [link] [comments] |

Why has Bethesda not made an actual Nuka-cola Posted: 20 Mar 2020 10:58 PM PDT Honestly it seems like such a simple thing to make and I'd 100% pay out the ass for a single bottle. On the conspiracy theory side: What if they have made it and are hoarding the caps for themselves? [link] [comments] |
Is it weird to ignore the main story? Posted: 21 Mar 2020 03:17 AM PDT I recently bought fallout 4 and i enjoyed the beginning of the story but now i have the T45 armor i just start to mess around and get more cores for the armor, i mainly just go into houses spray random people and such. Now my question was is it weird that i just ignore the main story and how long should i be able to ignore the story without getting bored [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2020 02:30 PM PDT Am I the only one who feels like Bethesda really shafted the Minutemen? They were really cool on paper being Revolutionary War inspired and being kinda the de facto "good guys." I'm a little biased because I'm a history nerd but they really didnt serve a purpose other than teaching the player the settlement system and theres not much of an advantage to siding with them end game. They have like 3 (maybe 3) unique quests, reclaiming the Castle being one of my favorite parts of the game. But nope, just radiant quests over and over from Preston, who I also feel like could've been a cool character if done well. Just wondering what other people thought because I love the idea of the Minutemen, but Bethesda really managed to make them stupid as fuck [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Mar 2020 03:03 AM PDT It's acceptable for Independent traders but Both House and NCR, the governing bodies of the Strip are against Legion. And the Families are not very fond of them either (except maybe one, not sure. Haven't played the whole thing yet). Even Freeside people are not Legion fans. Then why Legion currency works on them ?? Posted: 20 Mar 2020 01:50 PM PDT Personally, I would love this, exploring it more and see how it ends truly, since I'm the last game to touch Chicago kinda left it off as a battle between the Enclave and BoS if I'm not mistaken. I LOVE the Enclave and I would love to see a more immersive play of them with actual human NPCs and more quests. Maybe even a chance to save the Enclave in Chicago ya know? Thoughts? How do I give companions custom equipment? Posted: 21 Mar 2020 02:39 AM PDT Whenever I trade my companions custom weapons or armor, they still just stick with their default weapons and clothing. What am I missing? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2020 10:24 PM PDT Is there a quest in Fallout 3 where you can become enslaved by the Paradise Falls slavers? I remember clearly playing Fallout 3 in 2009 on the PS3, and there was a quest where the player becomes enslaved by the slavers if you betray Eulogy or something like that. I could recall having to sleep in the mushroom filled bunkhouses, talking to other slaves about escaping, and laughing with my siblings about making my head explode from the slave collar. I wanted to go back and relive that quest recently but I couldn't manage to get it to work. Likewise, when I did research online into how I could go through this quest, I found nothing about it! I thought I must have imagined it, but when I asked my brother about it he says he played the same quest! Our copy of the game was not modded (don't even think console mods were possible on the PS3 in 2009). Is the trouble that I'm trying to play the game on an Xbox 360 instead of a PS3? I seriously can't get the this possible quest out of my head, any clarification is helpful, thanks! [link] [comments] |
Exploring the Capitol Wasteland with my buddy Charon Posted: 20 Mar 2020 11:39 PM PDT I doodle why I play and I figured you guys might some appreciate some of the ones I did about our good friend Charon. Edit: Please ignore the fact that I misspelled "Capital" as "Capitol" in the title... [link] [comments] |
Diamond city won't open in Fallout 4 and I need help Posted: 20 Mar 2020 12:05 PM PDT Piper just sits there a doesn't talk to Danny at all. I try doing the quest "Unlikely Valentine" to open the gate but nothing works Edit: nevermind, just jet packed around the gate [link] [comments] |

Should i finish fallout 2 before playing fallout 3? Posted: 20 Mar 2020 06:41 AM PDT I couldn't finish the first fallout so when i started playing fallout 2 i had some plot missing, will this happen again if i skip on fallout 2? [link] [comments] |
Is it possible to make New Vegas better, brighter and larger than Fallout 4? Posted: 21 Mar 2020 03:07 AM PDT With mods is this obtainable? If not I'll be following up in this sub with a question about the best fallout 4 mods. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Mar 2020 02:43 AM PDT The NPC Sheffield vanished from the game, where could hé have gone to? [link] [comments] |
Could a U.S state Government have survived the war? Posted: 20 Mar 2020 07:43 PM PDT Could a state have survived the bombs, like its government have continued on after the war ended. Maybe a state as large as texas, as rural as alabama, or as small as Connecticut have made it through the holocaust. I Know most of the former U.S Officials were in the Enclave but that doesn't mean all U.S politicians were. Couldn't their have been non-Enclave members in government positions. Couldn't a Governor of a state hide in a Fallout shelter with members of their cabinet, or the national guard be in a fortified location. There must have been personal shelters for state Governors. This would be a cool Idea for a faction. Think about it a Faction with ties to the pre war government thats probably one of the last democracies still around. [link] [comments] |
Where to find fertilizer? (fallout 4) Posted: 20 Mar 2020 09:45 PM PDT Trying to build a garden in hangman's alley, any help is appreciated. [link] [comments] |
[Spoiler] What ending did I get in Fallout 1 Posted: 21 Mar 2020 01:17 AM PDT So I went to mariposa and blew up the military base, without ever going to the master or doing anything at the cathedral. Is there anything I can do to continue my playthrough and keep doing more, or was I supposed to blow up the Cathedral/Kill the master first before going to Mariposa? [link] [comments] |
I just heard a song I’ve never heard before in fallout four Posted: 20 Mar 2020 11:37 AM PDT So I've put countless hours in the game over the course of probably over a dozen playthroughs but I just heard a song I'd never heard before in diamond city radio. Idk what it was called or most of what it was talking about but I do remember it saying something about training for war. It said the word "train" a lot but that's all I remember cuz the radio doesn't save to clips so I can't double check. Any idea what song that is? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2020 09:07 PM PDT The Gunners, as anyone who has played Fallout 4 knows, are one of the newest (albeit deadliest) factions in the Fallout universe. They proved themselves to be organized, proficient (mostly) and have the intelligence to make long distant communication as well as salvaging robots and reprogramming them to fight for them. It goes without saying they are not a faction to be trifled with lightly. So my question to all of you is this: Will the gunners make a return to Fallout 5 whenever it comes out and if so, do they have the potential to be a faction that the PC can interact with, whether to join or destroy?
