Dead Money, to me, is possibly the greatest example of a love-hate relationship I've ever had with a game or a DLC in this case

And the reason for that is simple. The story. The story is so god damn good. The pacing is just perfect, the atmosphere of the Sierra Madre is so god damn incredible and a perfect example of great visual storytelling. The characters are all relatable and sympathetic and you understand their motivations and flaws perfectly (Yes, even Dean Domino). And it has, in my opinion, the best outright villain in the entire Fallout franchise. Father Elijah is so well acted, so well written and the way the base game hyped him up with Veronica made him all the more intimidating as you see this man driven to the point of desperation as there's nothing he won't do to reach his goal.

But then the gameplay happens. The Ghost people I can deal with, they're a little annoying but nothing too bad. The problem comes from the fact that the Sierra Madre is so beyond confusing to navigate, to the point where it doesn't even make sense structurally. Why would anyone put switches in such cryptic places in order to launch a gala event? Why? But I can even deal with that. But there's one thing I can't. You know what I'm talking about. THOSE FUCKING COLLARS. Who in their right god damn mind thought this was a good idea? It isn't even like a challenge thing it's just cheap bullshit. The collars make any attempt of exploration a god damn chore. Couple that with the maze-like structure and you have yourself a very frustrating and unpleasant time. But you know what? I always do it. I never skip it because I want to experience the story again, I want to see these companions and characters again, I want to shoot Elijah with a mini-nuke again. And i think that's basically the definition of a love-hate relationship

How would the Brotherhood handle the situation in Nuka-World?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 10:35 PM PDT

I am doing a BoS playthrough and I don't know how I would go about dealing with this DLC. Would the Brotherhood destroy the raiders and free the slaves? Or would they consider working with a less degenerate faction like the Operators?

Radioactivity aside, what Fallout creature do you think would taste best if you had a fillet or steak or wing etc.?

Is Fallout 4 less gorey, or am I just using VATS less?

    Posted: 26 Mar 2020 02:53 AM PDT

Title says it all, after 40 hours in FO4 I think it is less gorey than the other fallout games ( I always play with Bloody Mess in every single fallout game, from 1 to 4 ). It could also reasonably be because I am using VATS less and also fighting at longer ranges, but is anyone else noticing this?

Ranking your level of hype for each Fallout release (including DLC)

    Posted: 26 Mar 2020 02:46 AM PDT

    1. Fallout 4
    2. Fallout: New Vegas
    3. Wastelanders (Fallout 76) 4 Far Harbor (Fallout 4)
    4. Nuka World (Fallout 4)
    5. Automatron (Fallout 4)
    6. Fallout Shelter
    7. Fallout 76

My list is weird because I only became a fanboy after Fallout 3 + all it's DLC's were out and when New Vegas released it was such a buggy mess that I had tapped out and didnt care about the DLC's at the time.

In Fallout 3, how many Sugar Bombs does Murphy need to start making his Ultra Jet?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 04:47 PM PDT

I've been giving him a large amount and he keeps saying he needs more. I'm not even sure if he makes it or if he's just there to give you caps, does anyone know if he even makes it, and if so at how many Sugar Bombs? Thanks

FO:NV> When are the proper time to do Each Companion Quests?

    Posted: 26 Mar 2020 03:41 AM PDT

I know the game is Open World, but still there are some unwritten rules and restrictions. Like doing some quests early makes player lose certain reward or lore, changes how some other quests work.

I'm doing the Ultra Good Guy - NCR Path... (Playing the game for the first time, though I know most of the major plot points... But I don't know any details, feel free to fully spoil). So can you provide some advice regarding that ??

I came to Necropolis and there are ghouls everywhere. There are absolutely no super mutants except after I meet the Harry dude near the watershed. There aren't even bloodstains on the ground at the entrance. Did I do something wrong?

Fallout 4: Is it just me, or is two shot by far the best legendary weapon?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 06:49 PM PDT

For example the Overseer's Guardian or the Big Boy. Whenever I get this drop I immediately throw out whatever I was using before. Do you want the Spray and Pray that does +15 explosive damage or the Two Shot Submachine Gun that effectively does double damage at your side? If you can argue a better gun (enchantment?), please let me know because the Last Resort ain't shit.

Fallout 3 Uncut/English for German Version?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 06:18 PM PDT

    Hi!

I own the Cut/German version of Fallout 3 & I've tried what feels like everything to get it English/Uncut, and I always get so close. But the one thing I fail at, is turning the voices english. Menu? English. Game? Uncut. Voices? German. Hotel? Trivago.

I don't even mind re-buying the game or something if it means it ends up with the proper English version. Infact is there any way I can do this? I remember buying uncut versions of Left 4 Dead & activating them like normal on Steam.

Sorry for the long post, and thank you all for your help!

    Fallout 3 rare encounters

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 03:05 PM PDT

Did anyone encounter the roach king in fallout 3? I've played the game for literal 1000s of hrs through multiple playthroughs and I've only seen him twice, only saw uncle leo once or twice too.

You can offer drugs to one of the mini boomers?! Ten years later, and I am still discovering things in New Vegas.

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 11:59 AM PDT

I never usually talk to the kids at Nellis Air Force Base. My couriers never have the required 7 charisma to do the unmarked quest Malleable Mini Boomer Minds. I don't know why I was talking to the kids on this quarantine play through, but I was, and I discovered that one of the kids will challenge you to a boxing match. Instead of an unarmed check, you get the option to offer the kid some psycho. The kid declines and the courier gets an infinitesimal amount of Boomers infamy.

Here's a video of all the charisma checks/bad influence behaviors if you've never engaged with the kids before.

    Fallout 3 for PS3 freezing/lagging

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 10:27 PM PDT

Hooked my PS3 back up. I got a lot done in the game, most side missions, main story and a couple of the expansions but stopped because I couldn't take 10 steps without the game lagging then freezing.

Damn near 10 years ago now I looked up solutions. I turned off auto save, deleted game data but didn't work.

Anybody have this issue and fix it?

Essential Mods for FO4 Xbox One

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 06:05 PM PDT

Hi all. I am currently working from home due to coronavirus but I have a ton of free time. What are the most optimal mods to make fallout 4 fun to play? One that can disable Preston from giving me a radiant quest without asking would be good, but I'm looking for others.

I have America Rising and Tales from the Wasteland installed already.

    Thank you!

What's your favorite dlc/dlc's in your opinion.

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 06:39 AM PDT

    For me:

In 3, I really enjoy mothership zeta. Although that dlc has some major flaws in story telling and collection (the little girl knows everything, you cant collect unique items after you advance in the story), but collecting alien weapons, teaming up with people from different time periods and that final battle really sells it for me

In nv, I'll have to give it to honest hearts. While I love all 3 dlcs equally, I really love the aesthetic and landscape of Zion. The sidequests are meh, but honest hearts has one of the most tragic and slightly tear jerking story with randall clark, plus the burned man being there makes the experience 100% better.

And for 4, I really, really like far harbor. Like okay for real I love maps with interesting aesthetic and that map just makes me giddy. The whole plot I found interesting, and alot of the unique loot from it is perfect for me.
