    What's your Courier's backstory

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 07:58 AM PST

The great thing about New Vegas is you can basically make your own backstory. With that being said what's your backstory?

    Tips on Very Hard/Hardcore

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 05:23 AM PST

I want to do a Very Hard/Hardcore run, and I was looking for some advice. I plan on walking everywhere and try and pretend that I'm actually in the post apocalypse trying to survive. Any help?

    Courier trail?

Is there such a thing as The Courier Trail based on the route The Courier took when searching for Benny on the strip? Has anyone completed it?

FNV Windows 10 freeze fix (modded game)

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 02:04 AM PST

In case anyone else recently upgraded to Windows 10 and found that their saves wouldn't load any more, the fix that worked for me was to uninstall New Vegas Stutter Remover (if you have it, of course).

Apparently while this helped things load better on Windows 7, it somehow backfires on 10.

Just thought this was worth a share in case anyone else panics like I did when their 50+ hour save game won't load.

Best mods to turn New Vegas into a hardcore survival experience?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 11:44 PM PST

So I haven't played in a few months and I'm planning on doing a very specific run. I'd need to know if there are any mods that make NV harder: disable fast travel, bullets deal more damage, level up slower, less carrying capacity, etc. (I'll obviously play maximum difficulty and Hardcore as well). Thanks in advance!

    Character Build: Ex White Leg

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 07:20 PM PST

    Tag/Major Skills: Guns, Survival, Barter

    Minor Skills: Repair, Speech

    Traits: Hoarder, Fast Shot

    Companions: Arcade Gannon, Rex

Weapons: Dinner Bell, .45 Auto SMG, Lever Action Shotgun, Medicine Stick

Gear: Salt-Upon-Wound's Helmet, White Leg hide armor

Backstory and Role Playing: You are Walks-Long-Roads, once of the White Legs tribe of the Great Salt Lake, but no more. Walks grew up in a fairly typical manner for a White Legs tribal. He learned to shoot, loot, and revel in it. Life was simple and pretty straightforward. Raid caravans or small settlements, kill everyone there, and take what they had. This went on until he was 25, when they attacked a Crimson Caravan shipment that strayed too far from the borders of the NCR. His warband won, but he was badly injured and left for dead along the side of the road. Eventually he came to, dressed himself in a pair of pants and a shirt from one of the dead caravan merchants, and wandered off. He reached a nearby settlement, and nervously wandered in. Due to him not being dressed and tribal garb, and the fact that the blood from his wounds had washed off his war paint, the settlers didn't shoot him. He stayed there a bit, communicating in the little English he knew. Eventually, left the settlement and travelled South. The more he travelled, the more he saw the effects of what him and his tribesmen had done to the people of the wasteland, and it sickened him. He eventually took a job as a courier, which suited him well. He's still good in a fight, and doesn't mind walking the wastes alone. Eventually, he gets a job to deliver a Platinum Chip, and our story begins. For the role-playing, he's generally a nice guy who wants to atone for some of the evil he's done. His low intelligence isn't because he's stupid per say, but he's a tribal and doesn't really understand everything about civilization. He takes Arcade as a companion because he seems smart, and can do the things he doesn't know how to do, and in his life as a White Leg they used dogs too, so he takes Rex as well. He will side with either House or the NCR, as they're the more civilized choices. He hates the Legion, and sees them as no different than his own tribe, and doesn't think he's fit to rule the Mojave, so he won't work with Yes Man either. He takes a liking to the Followers, and will aid in their goals to help the wasteland. He also makes sure to help any and all small towns he comes across, and will help the people of Freeside. He hates the Khans, the Powder Gangers, and anyone else who hurts innocent people. In Honest Hearts he'll wipe out the White Legs but spare Salt-Upon-Wound's life, as the tribe is already beaten and he has no desire for more death. In the other DLC he'll be a fairly nice guy, (stopping the nukes in Lonesome Road, not murdering his new friends in Dead Money).

    Weapon class preferation?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 12:51 PM PST

I personally think guns are the most fun and have the coolest weapons. Energy weapons get boring and really i only use because of the goo-ification. I personally think fallout 2 had better energy weapons.
