Why wouldn’t General Oliver and the NCR simply shell/bomb the Legion fort into oblivion?

Now, I'm betting that this is one of those questions that's more likely explained by gameplay rather than actual logic, but I'm curious.

Is there a reason why Oliver wouldn't employ the absolutely MASSIVE artillery cannon on the dam to blast Caesar's Fort? Additionally, the Legion is pretty limited in which technologies they like to use in combat, and the NCR has Vertibirds. Couldn't they just... fly over and drop C4 on everything, Caesar's tent included? I mean, if Vertibirds work anything like they do in F4, they could send a few over to fly over the fort with mounted MGs and mow everyone down. Most of the dudes there are in CANVAS TENTS using machetes anyway, and have absolutely zero AA weapons. Seems like from a distance with air support they would be trivial to pick off, especially considering they're on a giant hill in plain sight - not exactly hiding in caves.

Why do they use bottle caps as a currency on the east coast?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2020 02:30 AM PST

In Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas bottle caps are used as currency by the people living there. All these games are set around California and Nevada. How did a currency on the west coast make its way to the east and is caps a currency all around what used to be the United States.

Shouldn't the weight of power armor negate most of the recoil from small guns?

Or at least fallout 4 power armor, since they are more of an exo-suit than armor

Rad protection tech always felt too good for what it looks like. What do we know about the tech involved in Rad-Away, Rad-X, suits, armors, etc...?

I read an article today about a mushroom they discovered in Chernobyl that basically eats radiation. Is there anything in the lore that is similar? Or is it just "nah, they found a way"?

Question. How are their Super Mutants in Appalachia?

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 08:09 AM PST

Hey, I'm someone who's necer played 76 and I was just curious how the mutant are in Appalachia so soon after the bombs fell? I have a few other questions, but this is the big one. I want to know if this is just a retcon, I'd also appreciate to know any other regions.

What kind of radiation is used in the bombs in the fallout world?

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 12:43 PM PST

Bombs in our world are more devastating yet radiation lasts a shorter time. (Gamma) Yet in the fallout world, a bomb drops and the place remains uninhabitable for....forever in a sense. Is there any sort of story about what kind of radiation is used in those bombs? I am imagining untold amounts of man-made isotopes being used such as plutonium which can have a half life of millions or tens of thousands of years. What do you all think?
