Is it ever explained how House was able to locate the Platinum Chip after the Great War?

I can't recall what caused the great divide. Is it anything similar to the situation with the glowing sea? Does it really divide the continent? Is it such a dangerous phenomenon that no one has tried to determine any of this info?

I understand he spent millions of caps trying to locate it and have it sent to New Vegas, but was it from hired mercenaries, other couriers or his Securitrons that made the journey to Sunnyvale to find it? And if so, how exactly did he do his "hiring" and spending if he never allowed anyone into the Lucky 38?

Why was the US Marine Armor not standardized?

The Desert Ranger Armor in Honest Hearts was a Marine's armor in the Yangtze campaign. However, marine armor in 4 and 76 is a seemingly more advanced armor. Seeing how the Combat Armor from earlier titles somewhat resembles the armor found in 4 and 76, is there lore behind the Marine Armor's difference?

A bug with dogmeat in fallout 1

So i am at the top level of the cathedral and i have just beat the mutants. Dogmeat was low on health right before it ended. So when combat ends, he runs over to my chracter and dies. I have reloaded saves and he wont stay alive. Is there a bug or something? I killed the lieutenant at mariposa so i just neew to get to the master.

I know from other endings that your faction's members sometimes go to Diamond City. Do they let synths into Diamond City post-Institute ending?
