    Do drugs kids!

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 08:35 AM PST

In my most recent playthrough i decided to heavily use chems in combat.

In doing so i decided to come up with a ultimate steroid combo and thought i would share what i found in my search for the best trip. Not all chems and consumables are worth carrying, most chems weigh nothing so lugging around a hundred doses of jet isnt a issue, but anything with weight has to justify its existence.

Some consumables are useful outside of combat (mentats, magasines) but this is about going roid rage and becoming a drugged up killing machine.

Yau guai meat - 10% damage increase. Not as good for healing than some meat but dealing more damage is great.

    Battle brew - Better med-x, (that stacks with it) +35DR, -1int, +1str, +40AP, 50 healing.

Med-X - 25% damage reduction, nice for surviving.

Jet/rocket/dixons jet, more AP, all stack with each other, (so does superjet, but superjet addiciton cant be removed so unless you are immune to addiction i wouldnt advise superjet)

Sierra madre martini, like buffout, stacks with buffout, +75 Max Hit Points ,+4 endurance +2 strength.

Buffout +3 endurance. +60 max HP. +2 strength.

    Slasher - 25% damage 25% damage resist.

Turbo, slow down time, great for lining up shots, avoiding damage, kiting melee enemies or rushing into melee. Great if you dont like vats or have low agility and thus dont get much use from vats. you can get a perk with 8 endurance, implant grx to get a non addictive version every day for free.

These last two are build specific in use.

Rushing water, increases attack speed by 50%, this is incredibly powerful, unless you like machine guns as this doesnt help with automatic weapons or weapons with a magazine with one shot. Applies to melee and ranged.

Weapon bindign ritual. Only works for melee builds. Restores limbs, +10 flat melee/unarmed damage, most effective on fast weapons like the industrial hand, ripper, chainsaw and thermic lance.

This is not a comprehensive list of all useful consumables, just the combo of pre combat drugs i would reccomend carrying for the very hardest fights. If you think i missed any please tell me.

Also grab some fixer for after, those addicitons arent nice. (fixer in the base game is bugged and removes all addictions permanently instead of temporarily.

25 Best Classic Fallout (Fallout 1; Fallout 2; Fallout Tactics) Related Mods for Fallout New Vegas- Fallout Franchise Mods no.3

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 07:09 AM PST

Fallout was first released on 30 September 1997, so the Franchise is 22 years old as of this Reddit Post. This is a mod list containing some of my favourite mods that in my opinion bring out that Classic feeling the either Fallout 1; Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics. In this list you can find armours from previous games or retextures of current items, but all will bring back the felling of the previous Fallouts into Fallout New Vegas.

Do not worry I will post my Lonesome Road Related Mods soon after this one. I am planning on creating lists for all 4 major DLCs for Fallout New Vegas, mods related to past Fallout games and mods related to the Factions of Fallout New Vegas. I may also created a list on mods that are references to other franchises and media in general. Thank you all very much and enjoy. Post any mods that you think I have missed in the comments below.

(Not all mods may work for everybody and remember to read the comments on the mod page if you have a problem. T&Cs and Standard Rates do not apply.)

-Fallout 2 Advanced Power Armor MK II by Spooderdude: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/64911

Remember the Menacing Dark painted Advanced Power Armour used by the Enclave in Fallout 2. We got the Remanants Power Armour in the Vanilla game, but this is for those who prefer the Dark Paint Job.

-Colt Rangemaster (Classic Hunting Rifle) by jkruse05: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/66376

This adds the old semi-automatic Hunting Rifle from Fallout 1 and Fallout 2. This can be found in the level lists and even in the level lists of the DLCs.

-Classic Fallout Weapons by Linerunner: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/37002

One of the most popular weapon mods out there. This adds weapons from the Fallout Universe that were missing in Fallout New Vegas. This are weapons from Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics. They are added in the level lists but there is a cheat Wardrobe mod incase you want to get all the weapons at once.

-Wattz Laser Rifle by TraVinh: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/60349

The Wattz Laser Rifle is included in the previously mentioned mod, Classic Fallout Weapons. However this mod is have high quality in terms of textures and meshes. A great mod for Energy Weapon Characters.

-FO1 Alien Blaster by ZuSkunks: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/62298

This is for those who do not like the shiny Alien Blaster from Fallout 3, this can either be a replacer mod or a standalone weapon. Sorry, but no picture of Elvis included, you have the Kings for that.

-CFA - Classic Sledgehammer with Mods by Listenerr: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/63680

The sledgehammer in the Vanilla game is pathetic. The mod does not only retexture the sledgehammer to look like the classic version, but it also adds weapon modifications to this low level weapon.

-Midwest Power Armor Professional Edition _ With Visor For PN: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39955

This armour is somewhat iconic. Even thought Fallout Tactics is not canon nor was it very successful, many fanatics love the look and feel of the Brotherhood Power Armor from the Midwest of America.

-Tribal T51b Helmet by Goukieny: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/38055

This helmet was used in the promotion and posters of the classic Fallout games, but it was not to be found in game. It is such a shame as it embodied the Post-Apocalyptic feeling of the Fallout games. This Tribal decorated T51b Helmet looks like it could have been used by the Arroyo Tribe or by Viper Raiders as a trophy from their long war against the Brotherhood of Steel.

-Tribal Power Armour by SGTbayk47: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/58328

This mod was made to compliment the previously mentioned Tribal T51b mod. If you download one of these mods, you need to download the other. This is mainly for those doing a Viper Raider or Tribal character. It is an armour mod up of pieces of old T51b Power Armour mixed with Tribal markings.

    -Vault 13 Jumpsuit by esplin9499: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40004

We got an Armoured Vault 13 Jumpsuit in the Classic Pack DLC, but we never got the standard suit from the first hero, the Vault Dweller. This mod is not a rip from the respective DLC. A great mod for those who want to role play as a decendant of Vault 13.

-Nephaels Children of the Cathedral Experience by Nephael: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/37950

We had many returning factions from the previous Fallout games. We had the Followers of the Apocalypse, Brotherhood of Steel and the NCR, but no Children of the Cathedral. This mod adds their robes for those who want to role play as a Child of the Cathedral.

-Classic Tesla Metal Armor by DaiShiHUN: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/36615

The name Tesla is one that turns heads. Everybody is obsessed with Tesla. While now you can bring back your Tesla Metal armour for all your Tesla needs.

-Combat Leather Jacket by MarsPistol: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/66873

This mod adds the Combat Leather Jacket from Fallout 2 into the level lists.

-Leather Armor MKI and MKII by MarsPistol: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/67112

This adds both the Leather Armor MKI and MKII from Fallout 2 into the level lists. So now there is more leather for you to enjoy.

-Metal Armor MKI by MarsPistol: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/67315

This adds the classic Metal Armor from Fallout 1 into the level lists.

-Classic Combat Armor MKII by YanL: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/65240

This adds the old Combat Armor from the classic games. Backpack included!

    -Brotherhood Armor by MikaelGizzly: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35487

Are you tired of the boring Recon Armor? Do you wish that the Brotherhood would return to its former glory? This mod is for you as it replaces the Recon Armor wore by the Brotherhood to combat armor with the Brotherhood insignia.

-Classic NCR Flag by Mohamed2001: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/49253

This is for Fallout 2 fanatics who preferred the NCR Flag from Fallout 2 and thinks that it looked better than the one from Fallout New Vegas.

-Ron Perlman Narrates your death by GiovanniMarini: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/66168

Are you tired of boring music when you succumb to the hazards of the Wastes? Now you can re-die the olden days when the actor Ron Perlman narrates your death. This in my opinion should have been in Fallout New Vegas, now this mod does what I always wanted in every modern Fallout game.

-My Chrysalis Highwayman at the Wrecked Highwayman Location by stayawhile: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/66328

This was a small missed opportunity to used the "My Chrysalis Highwayman" soundtrack with the Wrecked Highwayman location. The soundtrack was used when the Chosen One used their Chrysalis Highwayman and it is implied that the Wrecked Highwayman is the one the Chosen One Used on their adventure. So this mod just brings it all back together.

    -Radaway Addiction by somerandomguyontheinternet: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/65555

This is to make the Hardcore aspects of Fallout New Vegas even more challenging by bringing back Radaway Addiction. Now you have to be careful on how much Radaway you use.

-Classic Geckos - CVD Retextures by User_55992402: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/65313

This mod retextures the Geckos from the Vanilla game and Honest Hearts DLC to look more like the classic Geckos. I would recommend this mod to everybody who wants to retexture the Geckos.

-Classic Abode Buildings in the Mojave by brayduck: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/63635

The Post-Apocalypse is about rebuilding. This can be seen in Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 when the NCR built mud-based buildings to live in. To bring back that classic, muddy, rebuilding felling, this mod replaces many NCR buildings with mud based structures like that of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2.

-Classic Fallout Cursor by Spooderdude: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/67149

For those who prefer the classic cursor from Fallout 1 and Fallout 2.

-Fallout 1 Main Menu Title Screen Theme by ScottPilgrim2: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/63477

Who remembers the Main Menu title screen of the T51b Helmet in Fallout 1? Well now it is in Fallout New Vegas for those who are starting to get bored with the main menu of Fallout New Vegas.

First playthrough, should i use the fallout redesigned 3 mod?

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 10:04 AM PST

Hey guys, so i just downloaded fallout new vegas. I wanted to make the characters look better, so im interested in using the fallout redesigned 3 mod, then i saw that the mod requires the fallout character overhaul. And fallout character overhaul requires the NVSE mod. I just wanna change the character appearances, does the NVSE changes the dialogue/ story in the game? Thanks!

    Grunt, Hand Loader, Survivalist's Rifle

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 05:14 PM PST

Before this playthrough, I had never bothered much with ammo crafting, figuring that it was a waste of a perk point and that standard ammo worked just fine. It's true, standard ammo does work just fine, but there's a certain point where just fine starts to get stale. Crafting ammo is actually super fun, and all the components needed for special ammo can be scrapped from the standard ammo.

Now, on to the title, I don't have Bloody Mess, but I do have the first two ranks of Lord Death, and as of right now the Survivalist's Rifle does 61 DAM with standard 12.7mm. This is already ridiculously good, but it gets better. With Hand Loader, you can craft 12.7mm JHP, with a 1.65 DAM bonus and a ×2 multiplier on enemy DT, bumping the DAM up to 101 against enemies with 0 DT. So, against light or unarmored opponents, you're running around with what's essentially a rapid fire AMR, and if a target has less than 20 DT (the vast majority of enemies in the game) you're still doing more damage than you would have with standard bullets, probably making the Survivalist's Rifle hands down the most OP weapon in the game.

A side note, with this same setup you can craft Super Hand Load for the .45 SMG, giving it more DAM and DPS than the 12.7mm SMG with standard rounds, with no DT penalty. However, it degrades faster than my last relationship after my ex caught me jacking it to hentai, so keep that in mind.

    Mouse speed suddenly insanely fast

    Posted: 08 Dec 2019 01:20 AM PST

Hopped on today to continue the old world blues dlc when I found that my mouse was moving crazy fast, sensitivity in the settings hadn't reset. When I tried to lower the sensitivity, I found it became extremely slow and putting it back to the previous speed made it crazy fast again. The menu's (terminals, pip-boy etc) are crazy fast to the point that I can barely use them.

It's making the game unplayable so I'm hoping someone on here knows a fix, I've already tried disabling mouse acceleration which didn't help.

I just finished my second playthrough of Dead Money, a DLC which I previously detested.

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 12:52 PM PST

So I decided to fire up old New Vegas for another playthrough recently. I have been itching to replay it for a while but I finally had a break in my schedule for video games.

Anyway, in my last playthrough, I remembered absolutely hating Dead Money. It was this desaturated, dark grind in the opening phase. Also compared to the other two DLC's it felt really separated from the rest of the New Vegas world. I didn't like the ghost people as enemies, they were just bullet sponges that I found difficult to avoid.

But in my recent playthrough, I think I was really able to appreciate the DLC for what it was. Don't get me wrong I still hate the fucking red tint desaturation on everything, I am pretty sure I had an ENB on but that still didn't help. But if I treated it as a choice-based visual novel it really fun.

I was a much higher level this time around. So when I took the time to explore and crack locks/terminals I found a lot more loot. The companions were interesting because I could pass skill checks to learn more about them.

I was also more aware of the general situation of the Brotherhood so Christine and Father Elijah's story had more of an impact on me. Dog had the coolest mechanic, where playing the audio clip would flip him. I don't know why but I had very different reactions to the companions this time around. I wanted Dean dead from the start even though I vaguely remember liking him in my first playthrough. I don't know why I thought God was evil and had to be destroyed in my previous playthrough but this time he seemed friendly and reasonable instead of someone who was trying to stab me in the back.

Lastly, the ending is amazing. The way it used the Gold Bars to send a message and just how well the story came together. I think I was so pissed at the ghost people in my last playthrough that I completely ignored how well written the story for the game was. I actually read through the logs and messages left behind. Vera Keyes singing and Sinclair's final Fuck You to Dean was so well planned. Father Elijah also went from "bad guy" to crazy obsessed grandpa. You could see his motivations but more like a crack addict instead of an evil villain.

That being said some disclaimers. I still despise the Ghost People but less because I learned to just avoid them and run away. Fighting them is pointless. I also had Project Nevada so I could sprint which made walking through everything less boring.

I wish they made the vault bigger. It seemed less like a place to wait out the nuclear apocalypse and more like an office for a gold fetishist.

Dean had the best voice I wish he wasn't a dick.

I don't see how Vera Keyes was not an addict just because she had an unnamed chronic medical condition.

    Am I a monster?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 09:00 PM PST

During Come Fly with me I tried to help as many as I could. I learned to get Davison and his kin to leave I had to find stealthboys. This led me to Harland. I agree to find his ghoul girlfriend, but even with a stealth field I was detected by nightkin, and forced to defend myself. I killed them. All of them. I didn't want to, but they attacked. Later I went back to Davison, and with hatred and sadness in his heart, he accused me of murdering his kin, and to save myself I was forced to slay him. Now they're all dead. His flock gone. I put antler on his chest, folded his arms around antler as best I could, and took a moment of silent for the fallen super mutant. My courier has never been able to get over what she's done. I can't help but feel awful. I know they turned hostile, but it's not their fault that they suffer from paranoid delusions.
