Why are the nukes in 76 so small?

Like apart from the game engine/mechanics reason, is there a lore-friendly reason why the nukes in West Virginia are small?

(Couldn't find the correct flair! Sorry)

What is explanation for little girl in Mystery mansion from nukaworld?

    Posted: 11 Oct 2019 06:37 AM PDT

In nuka world there is a accratcion mansion, where cursed girl killed her parents. Inside you can see girl running inside rooms, but you will never confront her. In upper part you can see her run in empty wall. Does anybody have explanation for this?

Does the NCR use mortars or mounted guns?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 01:05 AM PDT

I know that the gamebryo engine has its limitations, so that could explain why any type of artillery is lacking in fallout (except howitzers), but I still find it very weird that the game doesn't even mention mortars. They're not that heavy, they're only manned by 3 people and can be used on a lot of situations such as providng smoke support or just bombing the shit out of somewhere. Also mounted guns would provide a lot of suppresing fire against dudes wearing footbal gear with machetes...

How do robots become sentient in Fallout?

    Posted: 11 Oct 2019 11:32 AM PDT

There are multiple examples of robots either becoming sentient or reprogramming themselves in Fallout. In Fallout 4, Captian Ironsides is implied to be a standard Sentry Bot that somehow adopted a new personality and Codsworth seems to basically be sentient as other Mr. Handy units seem to suffer from software limitations causing them to seem more robotic in comparison. Robobrains are debatably sentient with their organic brains as well.

So is it ever explained how robots become self-aware? Generally, the Fallout Robot AI is basic with some hints of personality but not actual traits of self-awareness.

What was the point of the Vaults if the world was gonna end anyway?

    Posted: 11 Oct 2019 12:10 PM PDT

Right so Vault Tec wanted to run experiments on people to see how they fare in long-term space habitation, right? They were never meant to save anyone from a nuclear holocaust. But the Vaults would only fill with people if a nuclear holocaust occurred, and if that happenes, how is Vault Tec gonna be able to get people into orbit if their entire way of doing that has been blown to hell? And if the world gets good enough to rebuild space infrastructure, why even leave in the first place?
