Is the Legion openly hostile to non-feral Ghouls and Gen 1 Super Mutants?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 08:37 AM PDT

Title is self-explanatory, I would assume so, but I was wondering if anyone is aware of any relevant evidence.

Did people knew about the Zetans during the Pre-war (speaking about conspiracy theories, pop culture, etc)?

Lore wise, what base version of the powerfist is the most powerful and is it strong enough to break a skull and dent a power armor helmet?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 03:47 PM PDT

Throughout the Fallout games there have been three different versions of the powerfist: 1. The Big Frigger powerfist from Fo1 and 2 2. The armored powerfist from Fo3 3. The construction powerfist from 4 4. The impact gloves from Tactics. 5. The mega powerfist from BoS

I was wondering which among these versions have the most stopping power and if they're capable of crushing someone's skull or breaking a power armor helmet.

Also, I didn't include any of the special ones like the ballistic, saturnite, or industrial.

how much influence do the followers of the apocalypse have in NCR territories?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 02:50 PM PDT

we see them in New Vegas and how they interact with independent communities and aids them, often with few resources and small outposts, but what do they look like back home? it's said that they have a university and some sort of beef with the NCR science faction, but are they trying to influence things like a "larger" faction?

Is Lyons BoS Exclusive Usage of T-45d PA ever explained?

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 01:49 AM PDT

In Fallout 3, we're introduced to the Lyons Chapter of the Brotherhood.

Unlike in previous games, where the Brotherhood is fitted exclusively with the T-51b Power Armor, they instead exclusively have the T-45d. You'd imagine that the higher ranking soldiers at the very least would have T-51b Power Armor, transported from the West Coast. However, there's only two suits in the game, and neither of them belong to the Brotherhood. Is this switch of armor explained at all?

I think I know what IRL cartridge 5mm is analogous to

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 09:10 PM PDT

Earlier, someone asked "What is 5mm ammo analogous to?"

    https://www.reddit.com/r/falloutlore/comments/5aorm6/what_is_5mm_ammo_analogous_to/

    Someone called Daediddles said

"If you compare the cartridge sizes in FO4 (the real ones are fairly size-accurate compared to each-other) the 5mm is about the same size as the ,308 (though the bullet itself is too large) so I'd be on it being a necked down, full-size rifle cartridge."

I looked at what 5mm looks like in Fallout 4 and I have to agree.

    https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout_gamepedia/images/b/b7/5mmAmmoFO4.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/1200?cb=20180325111514

Based on this, I think there are two answers to what the IRL equivalent of 5mm is.

    1. 4.85x49mm, which was first loaded into the XL64E5 IW. (In fallout 2, there is an almost identical weapon called a "XL70E3", which fires "5mm"). 4.85x49mm also, has a bullet diameter of "197 in (5.0 mm) "

The second answer is similar to what was said by a deleted user at here

" I'm of the opinion that it's a Russian or Soviet cartridge (the Fallout universe equivalent to 5.45x39mm), seeing as the AK-112 assault rifle in Fallout 1 is chambered in it, and the 5mm miniguns in Fallouts 1 and 2 are made by CZ, a Czech company. "

The lore in fallout 1 and 2 says the Miniguns are made by Rockwell, but the firearms are predated "CZ". IRL, a lot of weapons made by Czechoslovakia were copied and "ripped off" by other nations, as it was impossible for decades for Czech or Slovak designs to be patented in other nations. The IWI "Jericho" is just the CZ-75 pistol.

    1. 5.45x39mm, but necked down to 5mm

    -

Standard 5mm in Fallout New Vegas has suitably better performance against armor, compared to 5.56x45mm in the same game.

Normally, if FMJ ammo has radically better effect against armor, it's because it has a smaller and faster moving bullet, which is possibly made of a harder material.

5.45x39mm was commonly made out of soft steel, which is harder then lead (Normally what bullets are made of). If it was necked down to 5mm and used an even lighter bullet, it's effect on armor and the speed the bullet travels, would both improve.

4.85×49mm was a light and narrow bullet going stupid fast.

Both of these already sound very close to what 5mm is, and they already behave similar to how 5mm behaves.

So which do you think it is? The West copied the East or the East copied the West?

Did Vault-Tec build any Vaults in Canada/Mexico?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 07:20 AM PDT

We know that the US annexed at least the west coast of Canada and all of Mexico before the War but did Vault-Tec and the Government build any Vaults there or did they not care?
