    Modding for linux

    Posted: 25 Jul 2021 03:11 AM PDT

Wanted to make a basic modding guide because i couldnt find anything on reddit or google.

step 1- make sure you have wine, winetricks and also lutris.

step 2- make sure steamplay/proton is enabled for all games in steam settings

step 3- download fnv and run it at least once to make sure it works and to set your resolution and graphics settings

step 4- go to lutris.net and download their version of vortex mod manager and follow ALL instructions

step 5- get that set up as normal and make sure if wine asks for any permissions while using vortex to allow them

step 6- download the fnv 4gb patcher through vortex. Enable it and then open the mod file through vortex. Copy and paste the 4gb patcher into the fnv root folder and then run it as normal.

step 7- make sure nvse is installed (the vortex script from lutris should do it automatically)

step 8- mod to your hearts content. some mods i couldnt get working were the anniversary animation pack, ilo, enb's, and jsue. Let me know what you are able to get working if you try it!

edit: anything that requires uio and by extension mcm wouldnt work for me either if someone could get that working it would be amazing.
