Posted: 15 Jul 2021 07:01 PM PDT Now, there has been a lot of lore from Fallout 2 that has been retconned so you might take this with a grain of salt, but for the most part we actually do know exactly who dropped the bombs first. It was the Chinese. In San Francisco it is possible to interact with the Shi Emperor, a supercomputer created by the CCP intended to run their nuclear submarine. On that computer you can access the captain's logs and read each and every one of his entries leading up to the war and then its aftermath. He states in no uncertain terms that the Chinese had a fallback plan that, in the case of an American invasion, they would launch their nukes rather than surrender. The Americans were reaching Beijing and so the plan was set out nearly a week before the beginning of the war, with more than six days of knowing they were about to destroy the world before actually launching their nukes. There is no mystery, we already know what it was- it was the Chinese refusing to accept that they had been defeated and deciding to destroy the world rather than let their dictatorship fall. Posted: 15 Jul 2021 05:42 PM PDT Hello everyone! Since it's come up again on one of the other subs, could anyone give me a list of Synths that escaped the Institute that didn't have their memories wiped? Because people are under the impression that the memory wipe is mandatory. Thank y'all! [link] [comments] |
Can somebody lists the retcons between fallout 1 and 2? Posted: 15 Jul 2021 07:40 PM PDT I readied somewhere that it had some retcons but i have no idea what they were [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jul 2021 05:53 PM PDT I'm a new member of this subreddit and have become addicted. Great stuff. I wondered about the overall governing structure of the BoS by the time of Fallout 4. Is each chapter more or less autonomous or do they answer to a central governing body? My understanding was that the headquarters wad originally in the Lost Hills Bunker in California and was headed by Roger Maxson. As time went on and the Brotherhood expanded further out, did the ruling body that started in Lost Hills continue to exert control? We see in Fallout 76 that cross-country messaging is unreliable and that there was already some dissention concerning the Elder's original orders. There also seem to be fairly variable philosophies among the different regional elders. Elder Lyons espoused quite a different philosophy than Maxson in Fallout 4 and Knight Shin in Appalachia. How did pre-war commonwealths work? Posted: 15 Jul 2021 04:37 PM PDT Title. How did they work? Did they nullify most legislative matters of states? Did they act as superregional form of government? Did the commonwealths have their own capitals? If someone could explain how commonwealths worked, and their powers over states, that would be great. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jul 2021 10:16 PM PDT I know vault tec and others had preselected individuals to go in but almost nowhere in any terminals I've read, or heard of anything from any lore videos. Did they all just go extinct, turn to feral ghouls or just up and left? I wonder what happened to reservations that were rich in resources (uranium, coal), did the government did what they do best and relocated them all. The more I think about it I begin to create my own small theories. [link] [comments] |
