It would be cool to see mutated hogs Posted: 15 Jul 2021 08:34 AM PDT Feral pigs are one of the most prolific invasive species in the americas and i think they would be ripe for mutations, especially if theres a game set in the american south any time soon [link] [comments] |
TIL the same guy who voiced Myron in Fallout 2 (Jason Marsden) voiced Max Goof in A Goofy Movie. Posted: 16 Jul 2021 03:52 AM PDT You know, just, do with that information what you will. Edit: Boone too? Now that's a surprise. [link] [comments] |
Wealth hoarding in the commonwealth Posted: 15 Jul 2021 11:50 PM PDT Am I the only one that hoards all their caps? Any time I buy ammo I get all my caps back, plus whatever the vendor had. I'm also curious, whats the most caps you've collected/had at one time? I'm currently at 37,100 [link] [comments] |
Should I buy New Vegas on Steam? Posted: 16 Jul 2021 01:22 AM PDT I know about the story. I know that it's considered to be one of the best Fallout games. That's not what I'm worried about. What I'm worried about is whether the game will fucking run on Steam. Bethesda is infamous for its buggy shit, and Fallout 3 no longer runs on my Windows 10 laptop. I don't know if New Vegas is as buggy as 3, but if it is, I'd be wasting my money on a game which can't even run after more than 10 years of release. I know that the GOG version is supposed to be stable. However...I'm a bit of a pedantic idiot, and like seeing my games laid out next to each other in the Library. Yeah, call me an idiot. I know it's silly, but that's the way I am. That's why I don't want to buy the GOG version. I will if I find that I'm left with no choice, but if the Steam version is capable of running well on a Windows 10 laptop, then I'd prefer it to the GOG version. Also, if I were to use an unofficial patch for New Vegas (there was one for 3, so I'm assuming there's one for this one as well, unless it was polished enough at launch not to need one), would it disable my achievements? Please share your tips and experiences. Other suggestions, if related to my question, are also welcome. [link] [comments] |

Talking to Christine is very fun Posted: 15 Jul 2021 11:55 AM PDT Playing Dead Money for the first time and just finished every talk option with Christine cause it's so fun talking to her. The fact that she doesn't really talk but the game states her actions leaves a lot of place to imagination and makes her actions more vivid into your perception. It makes her characters vigorous and with more personality compared to other characters in the saga, even if she doesn't talk. [link] [comments] |
Has anyone noticed how there aren't or almost no feline animals in the Fallout franchise? Posted: 15 Jul 2021 06:53 AM PDT Correct me if I'm wrong, but recently I noticed how there aren't no feline animals in any Fallout game. This was a thing that popped suddenly in my head some days ago and i never stopped thinking about it since then. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jul 2021 01:44 PM PDT Short rant first... They were so close. THEY WERE SO FUCKING CLOSE. So I saw FO76 on sale and got it for like $13, figured what the hell and decided to finally give it a shot. Now that I'm in and have spent a moderate amount time in the game, I can't help but get upset about the wasted potential here. We didn't need something groundbreaking or paradigm-shifting. I think it's safe to say that most of us would have been happy with just a new setting using approximately the same old formula, ideally with some updates per feedback following FO4. That was too much to ask apparently. Bethesda could have done something good and instead spent their time making a "live service" to ultimately be a vehicle for money-grubbing premium subscriptions and microtransactions to be milked indefinitely. The more I consider the wasted potential here the angrier I get. Ok, rant over. For those who have held out on trying 76 so far, the game actually has most of the pieces you'd expect from a new (traditional) Fallout entry. Several things to appreciate: - This iteration of the survival mechanics in 76 is good. I've been a big fan of all the eating/diseases/etc. elements of the previous FO games and I like the changes they made in 76. The mutations system has some potential as well, and I'm interested to see where that goes. - I think the condition/repair system in 76 is the best version of that system to date. Repairing weapons and armor with spare parts makes way more sense than just smashing two guns together to make a single, better gun. I'm very happy to see the system return and it really feels like it naturally ties in to how junk/scrap is used. - Maybe I'm in the minority here, but discovering/learning construction and modding recipes by finding them in the world or deconstructing equipment you have is actually something I'm on board with. This gets a thumbs up from me. - The towns, internal areas, and Appalachia in general are well designed. Always good to roam a new Fallout space but they definitely did a nice job composing the region. Exploring in 76 is very enjoyable overall and frankly it exceeded my expectations in this respect. - Several interactions with the NPC's have dialogue options only usable when you have the sufficient SPECIAL stat, similar to New Vegas. It won't blow your mind, but it's a nice touch and hopefully a sign of things to come in future titles. - The new enemies and creatures make sense for the new region. Definitely numerous enough and varied enough to meet expectations and not feel like everything was recycled. - The new primary radio station -Appalachia radio- is solid. Never really been a weak point of the Fallout series, and it lives up to expectations in 76. Good and fitting new songs, as well as the return of many classics. Even though the new DJ is not particularly interesting, I personally prefer her to FO4's Travis (though I admit that might be an unpopular opinion). And then disappointment sets in when introducing the online elements, and the issues are apparent pretty quickly. Unless you're doing co-op or are one of those people who enjoys PVP, the online dynamic just holds the game back: god forbid your internet sucks, can't change the world in a significant way, no mods, questionable character building and leveling, nauseating mobile game-esque practices shoehorned in, I could go on... These are completely fundamental, unchangeable aspects of the game too so there's no going back. All they needed to do instead was scrap the online bullshit, use that dev time to put together a proper main story/side quests with actual characters and factions, and it probably would have been great! But we got Fallout 76... this half baked in-between of a game, forever hamstrung by the online nature Bethesda originally intended but nobody wanted. It can't be undone and who knows how long it will be before the next proper Fallout title comes out. I'm mad. TL;DR - FO76 was not too far off from being great, but it never will be and I can't get over it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Jul 2021 01:44 AM PDT So I just started fallout 3 for the first time (I'm late, I know, had a busy life and just saw recently that GOG released a working version, could never get the copy I bought on Steam to run). Anyway, I'm really enjoying learning a new world and a new system. Was just wondering if anyone had a list of things they knew when first starting out (no spoilers please!). Maybe a tip or two about leveling, which skills are useless etc. Thanks!! PS Are "caps" really bottle caps???? Really? [link] [comments] |
Need help choosing which playthrough Im going to do. Posted: 16 Jul 2021 03:12 AM PDT So basically me and a friend were brainstorming unique playthroughs to try doing with mods.
Basically playing on survival difficulty with some added mods for balancing and you would be mainly using guns like mp5 and tactical surpressed firearms. Waking up after your son was kidnapped you remember you possess a very specific set of skills and you will find them. And you will kill them.
I would also edit my level/inventory to set most of these playthoughs so Id be cannabil from the get go. Im going to start one of these tonight so lemme know what sounds the most fun and if theres any additions or mods youd recommend. [link] [comments] |
So how do you get the dlcs to work on fallout 3 Posted: 15 Jul 2021 08:44 PM PDT So I bought fallout 3 game of the year edition for the Xbox and installed the base game and than installed all the dlcs and when I went to test to see if they installed properly I saw they weren't active in game. Edit: never mind, they decided to start working all of the sudden. [link] [comments] |

I made an night ambience video with fallout theme, help me improve with suggestions Posted: 15 Jul 2021 10:44 PM PDT Hello there folks! Here's my second video with a focus on ambience (which is normally used for concentration and/or for immersion) in the new vegas universe. I'd really appreciate if you drop me some ideas and suggestion. I'll put the link below [link] [comments] |
Player housing in FO vs. Skyrim (vanilla in each case) Posted: 15 Jul 2021 08:11 PM PDT In Skyrim, I care about getting the Thane houses. In Fallout 4, I set up shop in either Sanctuary or Red Rocket and that's pretty much it. I'm trying to figure out why. It's not like you have get the Thane houses in Skyrim to finish the main story or any DLC story. Do others generally care about housing in Fallout 4? And in terms of Minutemen settlements, I mean do you generally care about turning a settlement into a player homebase? [link] [comments] |
What game has a building system like F4 Posted: 15 Jul 2021 07:57 PM PDT 1st or 3rd person game where you build settlements Would really like it if you could spawn enemies to attack the settlement but not entirely necessary [link] [comments] |
Went back to the classic fallouts came out terrified Posted: 15 Jul 2021 05:38 PM PDT So recently I went back to the classic fallouts. Like 1, 2, and tactics I actually got into fallout with 4, Fallout 4 never scared me it had its moments of darkness (I mean it is a wasteland) but it never actually got me feeling any dread about the wasteland around me but then I picked up New Vegas it was great definitely my favorite out of the games (Crazy unpopular opinion I know) and I definitely did feel the horror of the lawless wasteland From the horrible crimes of the fiends to the dark plot of dead money but this feeling intensely struck me picking up fallout 1 starting out with zooming out of the tv makes a great intro cinematic then "War never changes" that line always hits hard but when I played the game I was actually scared. Because of the atmosphere of the wasteland was truly something fallout 4 didn't do the soundtrack helped that feeling like metallic monks and the junktown theme and it made me think as our future comes will we follow the same path that caused the wasteland in fallout? That's why fallout spooks me more then ever now. [link] [comments] |
In what order do I complete the New Vegas DLCs so I can keep on freely playing. Posted: 15 Jul 2021 07:23 PM PDT |
Your favorite post-apocalyptic media? Posted: 15 Jul 2021 05:42 PM PDT What are some of your other favorite post-apocalyptic movies/tv shows/games/books? [link] [comments] |
Regarding saturanium, is it real? Posted: 16 Jul 2021 04:21 AM PDT Saw in a really well made fallout novel (steel waste, webnovel) a alloy called saturanium, ive heard abt it before and i wondered if its a fanon or canon thing and which race it came from (humans or aliens?) [link] [comments] |
How the fuck do people agree that the fallout 2 enclave have a point? Posted: 15 Jul 2021 10:59 AM PDT Seriously, I was talking in the comments about how the enclave wanted to commit global genocide with the FEV strain they created, but they deny reality by saying that they only wanted to kill the super mutants and ghouls, straight up lying to begin with because you can literally talk to the chief scientist. It's like talking to a fucking Holocaust denier, they either deny or reframe it. It's pathetic how these people have a rose tinted view of fallout 2 in general, I tried to like fallout 2 as well, all the shit these people say fallout 2 has is made up. It's just Shitpost: The game. [link] [comments] |
