| The Doom that Came to Goodsprings Posted: 17 Jun 2021 09:43 AM PDT So I'm currently doing an Evil NCR run. And I wanted to share my roleplaying experience involving the fate of Goodsprings... So after Doc Mitch helped me, Sunny trained me, and Trudy advised me, I decided to help Joe Cobbs take over the town. Because as I told Doc Mitch, he shouldn't have gone through my stuff. Shortly thereafter I went to the NCRCF to help out with the Powder Gangers. Killed a traitor and a wannabe Bounty Hunter. Then investigated Primm. Wiped out the break away Gangers, killed Deputy Useless and help Johnson Nash bring law back to Primm. That Law of course, being the NCR. That's when Mr. Nash told me about the NCRs plan to retake the Prison. Me being the good citizen I was, decided it was time to bring the long arm of the law down on the Powder Gangers. I meet up with Sargent Lee, and soon Eddie and his boys went to the big NCRCF in the sky. Sargent Lee decided to escort them up there to ensure there wasn't another break out. I then went back to Goodsprings, only to be meet by a pissed off Joe Cobbs and his boys. It wasn't soon after he too would join Eddie and Sargent Lee at the big slammer in the sky. I then got what I needed from Chet, and quickly put him down. It seemed cruel to make him live alone in Goodsprings. A few Bighorners now roam around Goodsprings, peaceful, quietly. Victor left, the settlers either left or joined Trudy at the water tower. Goodsprings has been cleaned out of all life. The road between Primm snd Goodsprings is clean of all Powder Gangers. The NCR deserters at the Vicky and Vance Casino learned the price of going AWOl during a time of war. But next question is... Do I make Johnson Nash pay for not warning me about the other Courier? Clearly had I know the other courier didn't want this Job I would have take extra precautions and might not have been shot in the head. Goodsprings might still be full of life. So, in a way, this is all Johnson Nashs fault. And he should pay for his crimes. Goodsprings will be avenged. Doc Mitchell, Sunny Smiles, Trudy, Chet, Ringo and Joe Cobb will rest easy once Johnson Nash is brought to justice. [link] [comments] | ||

| What I think the canon ending to new Vegas SHOULD be Posted: 17 Jun 2021 10:18 AM PDT This doesn't mean I think I know what the canon ending will be revealed as, it's just what I think it should be. I think yes man should be the canon ending. 1 the game emphasizes how governments based on the ones that started the apocalypse are doomed to fail, that for humanity to TRULY survive the post apocalypse, it must create something new in its wake. The game also has a huge theme of letting go of the past and beginning again, a theme that was directly told to us during dead money and showed more subtly through the main game and other dlc. 2 an independent/house ending where the courier made good choices is a better ending for the ncr than the ncr ending where you just help them overextend themselves and continue their old, crappy ways. in every cutscene the courier has a 21 on his back, the vault 21 symbol is associated with yes man/independence. I also would like to call back to Ulysses words "know what you follow courier even if it is nothing at all". The courier doesn't follow anything cause everyone is following him, if the courier betters the mojave(which canonically I think he does no matter what) they represent the common people of the Mojave, those without a voice, the people the ncr, legion and house don't care about. another quote from Ulysses is "the shadow of a nation is behind you, the hope of a people", perhaps the courier will finally redeem himself after the events of the divide (depending on how you see the divide) and build a new divide, a new nation, truly new, not tethered to the beliefs, symbols and systems that caused the apocalypse, a chance for the future of humanity to not be 100% destined to fail, a uncertain future none the less that has no guarantee of succeeding, but with the help of good karma courier, at least has a chance. Anyway this is my argument as to why I think yes man should be the canonical ending as it fits well with the games themes and in my opinion makes the most narritive sense [link] [comments] | ||

Personally i always go for ncr if im not trying to do anything special, just because i believe in their cause, but as with every faction in the game, they have their flaws.
