My mom just started playing Fallout and it's amazing.

    Posted: 11 Jun 2021 05:27 AM PDT

My stepdad and I both love Fallout, he got me into it in the first place. While I was making my way through the commonwealth, she said she wanted to try; three days later and she's into it.

She's a little confused about Vats and whatnot, but seeing her reaction when she stamps out a rad roach or other insect (she's afraid of Roaches IRL) is just amazing.

IDK what this post is for, just wanted to share.

Edit: She just asked if I wanted to have a 'Fallout Session' at 5. I asked her if she had played and she told me that she had run around the vault punching bugs :)

Hot take: The brotherhood of steel shouldn't be in fallout 5

    Posted: 10 Jun 2021 04:32 PM PDT

They have been in every fallout game and have played a major role in most of the fallout games, it gets stale having the same faction play a major role in almost every game (they even have a game named after them) . If the brotherhood of steel was left out of FO5 it would give Bethesda an opportunity to make a new unique faction. they could even be break aways from the military like the BOS just with different doctrines, beliefs and tenets. The military is big so its likely to have many splinter factions post war rather than just the one.

but please, i just want something other than the FUCKING bos

I want to see a Fallout game in a winter setting.

    Posted: 11 Jun 2021 09:29 AM PDT

Nuclear winters are a thing, Plus Alaska and Canada exist (Both of which played a significant role in the lore), So I don't see how it wouldn't fit.

Think about all the possibilities. Not only would it serve as a cool and interesting setting, It would also introduce new challenges to the player that we've never seen before, Such as enviromental threats and new winter-themed creatures.

The closest thing we ever got to this was Fallout: The Frontier (which we shouldn't talk about)

When should I buy and download the Fallout 4 DLCs?

    Posted: 11 Jun 2021 08:24 AM PDT

I've been looking at the Fallout 4 DLCs an they seem really worth getting especially Far Harbour, Nuka World and Automatron but I was wondering if there was a good time in game wise to play them? For example should I wait until I've finished the game or install them as soon as possible?

Opinion: I love Preston Garvey and the minutemen

    Posted: 11 Jun 2021 08:37 AM PDT

I love preston, I think he doesn't deserve as much hate as he gets. Yeah settlement quests are annoying, but i i don't thunk so. In a nuclear appocalypse, it makes me smile that I can at least help those in need, create settlements of my home, and I just love that feeling.

I love building up the minutemen from a couple of settlers with guns to an army. Preston overall has a great personality, he wants helps people, and you know what? I'll help as many godamn settlements as I wish, because it makes me feel as if I accomplished something (and also because i love settlement creation in general).

It makes you proud looking at a settlement and reminding yourself that you did this. This is a feeling that I will never get tired of.

Not using fast travel makes the game much better in matters of exploration, and i'm glad Bethesda thought about that when making Fallout 4 Survival mode

    Posted: 10 Jun 2021 03:28 PM PDT

The first time i've played fallout without fast travel was New Vegas. Always love the feeling from the begining of the game when you go from town to town and make a lot of quest in there.

For me that was one of the best parts of the game. I liked so much that i started more games that i've finished.

One of the good things about not using fast travel, is that you end up planing much more what quests will you do. You will think 3 times before going in a long journey.

My problem with FNV is that the game was not planned to not use fast travel, so a lot of quests you have to cross the mojave to finnish.

In f4, that still happens, but much less. The ideia of quests beeing closer to the spot you got them, something i belive Bethesta thought about it, make it much better and less boring to play.

And we still have a few other methods of transportation, like the vertibird.

I feel like a game set in Denver pre legion would be cool.

    Posted: 11 Jun 2021 10:38 AM PDT

Specifically dogtown and there could be a war between the tribes. I also wish no bos or enclave or supermutants due to they have no interest in Denver cause it's overun with dogs and would be to costly for the bos to savage the tech there.

    Nuka World Location

    Posted: 11 Jun 2021 05:11 AM PDT

So I've been looking through past posts and found multiple about the location of Nuka world and want to place my take on it. Especially living pretty much right next to it for 6 years of my life.

Six Flags New England! (Previously known as riverside park) is the biggest amusement park within New England. With it being in the town of Agawam Massachusetts, right next to the Connecticut river, and within Pioneer Vally. I Say theres a good chance of it being nukaworld based on location.

Now a little more about Riverside before it became sixflags. It was founded in the 1840s and bought by Henry J. Perkins in 1911. In the park there used to be a Monorail (sadly removed). As of now the Park is split into multiple sections based on multiple themes. On the top of my head they where : Wild West, Loony Toons, DC, Fright fest (technically only a halloween thing), a semi small kids area, a huge waterpark. And the rest being generic rides with no particular them. This kinda goes along with the multiple sections of Nukaworld.

The surrounding area has similarities to the DLC as well but not much. A little ways up the river is a huge building that houses a bunch of transformers for the powerlines. Not west like in the game. And there technically is no damn but there's is a manmade waterfall in the river that leads into the ct.

Basically bunch of consultancies and inconsistencies. Now this is where I'm going to end this as my phone's keyboard is freaking out for some reason. But i can asure that Agawam Ma is a good guess as where it might be.

Need help choosing my next game

    Posted: 11 Jun 2021 08:11 AM PDT

I'm a dad with extremely limited time to play games so I'm reaching out for some assistance choosing my next great adventure.

Bethesda games (Fallout 3/4, New Vegas, and Skyrim) have been my favorite games of all time. I've played all of these multiple times meticulously checking in every container and cavern for more story and loot. I like solo play, and typically pick to avoid companions of any kind when possible. I also loved World of Warcraft growing up as well, but I did not (and still don't) have time to join guilds and mess with end game content because of the extreme time dedication required. Even with WoW, I preferred to play solo. I love exploration, character progression, and loot (daedric quests and their artifacts are the coolest thing about skyrim in my opinion).

I'm currently playing through Skyrim again and realized that as much as I loved Fallout 3 and New Vegas, it's odd that I never went back and tried Oblivion. I've also been interested in Fallout 76 and ESO. I already own all three titles. Now I just need to decide which one to sink my time into. I have an Xbox one and a decent PC. Any thoughts?!

Should I get fallout 4 as well? Or should I choose one over the other?

Fallout 4 crash fixes for Xbox one

    Posted: 11 Jun 2021 05:10 AM PDT

Hey guys, don't know if there's something like this here already, but I wanted to share my story nonetheless. Fallout 4 was unplayable for me, and I play in a Series S, I couldn't go some minutes without the game crashing, specially in Boston, with or without mods. But here's a list of things that helped me: 1.Using campingsite, so I can save more often in survival, but keeping in mind the adrenaline/sleep dilema 2.A lot of people reported less crashing while playing the game offline, or just loading the save offline, then going online. This didn't work for me. 3. What does work is using performance mods, like: Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch

    No More Antialiasing

    Optimized Vanilla Textures

    Nytra's Performance Tweaks Complete Pack

    FPS Overdrive Xbox One

4.But what really helped me was deleting ALL the reserved space for fallout 4 in the Xbox, the one for mods but also the CC and my saves :( I also reinstalled the game, but I don't think that made much difference. I'm also avoiding syncing with the cloud, don't if that's the problem, but I've been playing smoothly ever since, I'm still testing it, so I'll update this post if anything changes.

What would you like to see in game based in South Dakota

    Posted: 11 Jun 2021 10:48 AM PDT

I've recently decided to run a fallout table top adventure (PNP 2.0 for those who care) and I've decided to run it in South Dakota because I want to involve Mount Rushmore. My only issue is I don't know anything else about SD. I've read up on the lore surrounding the area but since it's not super popular it doesn't have too much detail on the area, it just goes into faction lore, so please help me out and give me some ideas of what to implement

Over the Virus I Played the Fallouts. I Have Now Ranked the Fallouts.

    Posted: 11 Jun 2021 01:01 AM PDT

So, before the Coronavirus I'd never played any Fallout games ever. Really, I'd never been much of a gamer. I played Skyrim with my friend, Dan, when I was in fifth grade as well as Spiderman, Halo and GTA V. But, when my school got closed last year, my brother and I bought an Xbox. And so, the first game I downloaded was Skyrim. Played it, loved it. And then I bought Fallout 4. Played it, loved it. To be honest, my brother and I weren't ever really that close before we played Fallout 4 and Skyrim together. Now, we actually have a common interest, which is really nice. But, after 4 I went on the to play New Vegas, 76 and 3, all of which are really great games in their own regards. I haven't 100% finished 3 and have yet to do the DLCs. Anyhow, I came out feeling that I could now rank these games, based on the base game and wanted to see if you good people agreed our disagreed with me. Sorry if this causes any upset, but we love what we love, right?

*Won't mention graphics because it's super unfair.

    *It's long-sorry!!!!

    1. (Best) Fallout 4. Ok lol hear me out. I love New Vegas. And I enjoyed 3. But personally, something that I thought Fallout 4 did better than any title before (can't speak for 1,2 or the spinoffs) is it's gameworld. While the sunshine is a bit much, the little stuff like the bank in Lexington with dead, pre war bank robbers who died getting into the getaway car really brings the world to life. The affinity with companions was great, though some were lacking. The actual objects in the game (glue, tin cans, toy cars) having a purpose for crafting was really smart. Power Armor being tank-is and huge was awesome and Fusion Cores added new challenges to the game. Also, Survival mode is so frustratingly hard, which is awesome. The settlement building was fun and creative but certainly could have been better. Less settlements, like to ten would have been better. The story was great, but not quite player based enough. I wanted to make decisions, not be forced into them. The factions had great moral ambiguity-except the minutemen who are kinda useless. All in all, it feels distinctly Fallout, but also very lack luster at times (like the Combat Zone-huge missed opportunity).
    2. New Vegas. It's brilliant. Truly. Most movies aren't this well written. The story is gripping, your actions have ramifications, it's brilliant. The tone, the feel is spot on. The characaters are so interesting, especially Mr. House. My jaw hit the floor when I discovered he was a pre-war CEO. The ending, having an actual meaning and a feeling of distinction to my Courier was great. The factions were morally different and like 4, have ambiguity, plusses and minuses. However, this is where it's a step down in my opinion. The world is really, really barren. And I know, it's a desert, but that's actually part of the issue. The desert setting is very, well, dead and so there isn't enough environment for me. That's part of my worry for Elder Scrolls 6, is the desert. The combat is pretty spotty, it takes awhile to get used to. But for me, the game can get just a bit confusing at times, like when choosing factions, although 4 does this a little too at one point. Finally, no endgame was soooo disappointing. I wanted to continue being the Courier and sadly, could not. But, there will son be a mod for that so tan's cool. Love the game though, really great.
    3. Fallout 3. It does a lot well. The lighting of a green sky and green filter was so much cooler than 4 and New Vegas in my opinion. The beginning with the vault is actually fun and not as tedious as it is in 4. The Gary vault and that tree dude named Harold were highlights for sure. The problem here for me was really the open, emptiness of the world. It was a lot like New Vegas in that regard. Also, the story was also very restrictive and the dad thing was like Shaun. Couldn't finish, broken steel fixes that. The game has a lot to offer, but the environmental storytelling and lack of endings puts it here for me.
    4. (Worst) Fallout 76. I know people love this game and I know people hate it. I am in neither camp. As a Fallout game, it works in some ways. Actually, it has moments that feel more Fallout than 4. But, the game leaves me wishing it was single player. I enjoy aspects of it, but they are all aspects I enjoy in single player games. The online feel is very lost on me, in a way that a game like GTA V is not. The only online part that is, in my opinion, any good is actually the Nuclear Winter which isn't terrible. But, I wish they'd spent the time making a single-player game, rather than an online MMO. I know some people love it, and there are aspects I love (I am genuinely excited for the Zetans update!) but the online portion needs to fleshed out, similar maybe to Elder Scrolls Online. Also, lighting is just bad. I am the source of light in this game.

Anyhow, I'd love to know if you agree to disagree!

This may controversial, and I am, deeply sorry if it is. I'm, I guess, fairly new to this community of Fallout players, but regardless, if you made it this far, thanks! Hope you have a wonderful day or evening! And for those of you who have a date or job interview or anything your nervous about this week, good luck!
