Why are the Deathclaws in FO3 and FNV the way they are?

Ok. You've seen the Deathclaws in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. They have a desert-like tan color. They don't have reptillian skin, they have skin that looks like rocks.

Compare that to Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, they are akin to a Reptile, with Crocodile like skin, even larger horns and spikes, and overall larger. But why?

Since FO76 takes place before the other Fallouts, are the Deathclaws in that game the original ones? If so, then how did they end up like the Deathclaws in 3 and New Vegas?

Is everyone on the Institute related to each other?

    Posted: 11 May 2021 01:48 PM PDT

We know from Allie Filmore that the survivors of the war took refuge in the basement of CIT and their sons and daughters dug deeper underground. We also know that nobody leaves the Institute other than for needed requirements, so does that mean that everyone on the Institute (except the Synths of course) have the same ancestors?

    Serial Killers in Pre-war Boston

    Posted: 11 May 2021 07:41 PM PDT

How many were active in pre-war Boston? The police evidence terminals mention a few murders where the victim had Nuka-Cola bottle caps placed over their eyes. And then there's the "Fens Phantom" and you can learn about him in the Fens Street Sewer. Am I missing any? Or is the Nuka-Cola killer just mob "hits"?

Why was the west tech research facility in southern California (fallout 1) nuked directly but the facility in Appalachia (fallout 76) wasnt?

    Posted: 11 May 2021 09:37 AM PDT

We know in fallout 1 the west tech research facility aka the glow took a direct hit from a nuclear blast as it was probably a high priority target due to the research that was done but if so important why not nuke the one in Appalachia as well? Surely if it was so important to destroy why not nuke both?

Did the US forces pull out of China before the nukes went off?

    Posted: 11 May 2021 11:19 PM PDT

We know that there were troops in Mainland China, but I'm fuzzy on the details of the campaign.

Just wondering if people got left behind, if it's confirmed or not anywhere.

    Did anybody counterfeit bottle caps?

Seems like what raiders or smugglers would do though?

If fev destroys the gametes of organisms in the transformation period then why can some fev creatures reproduce?

    Posted: 11 May 2021 07:36 PM PDT

In fallout 2 you can see a group of intelligent deathclaws which were modified with a strand of fev taken from the destroyed Mariposa base and modified by the enclave. And these intelligent deathclaws while negating the effects of decrease intelligence can also reproduce as show with the pack mother laying eggs.

In fallout 76 you can find snallygasters which are a hybrid of many organisms genetically engineered with fev using a different strand of fev by west tek pre-war. These creatures escaped containment post war and reproduced into a full population.

In fallout 3 a species of ants gets modified with fev to make reduce their size and instead gives them the ability to breath fire by a single scientist in his research. These ants are shown to have a queen and be capable of laying eggs for new ants.

In fallout 4 you can encounter mutant hounds produced by the institute when experimenting with wasteland dogs with their own strand of fev. While it's not directly stated, Erickson in far harbor tells you he breeds dog/world species to tame, including the mutant hound. Which would make no sense how he could continue to acquire new mutant hounds with the institute no longer performing fev experiments.

And yet through it all no supermutant of any strand of fev could reproduce and we haven't seen any case of centaurs or floaters reproducing. And the master and lieutenant couldn't figure out how to get passed this issue with fev's effects. What gives? Does fev stop reproductive capabilities or not? And if it only does that in some cases theoretically the masters dream could have become true given more experiments.

Hell even Harold could release his seeds to spread the trees he produces, and he was originally a human who became an fev mutant.

Basically every strand of fev had the capability to create some mutants which could reproduce, except maybe fallout 3, but that's just cause we don't know where the scientist got his fev from.
