Why is Sunset Sarsaparilla rad free?

Nuka Cola causes rad poisoning in Fallout 3, NV, 4 and 76. Sunset Sas in NV doesn't but otherwise has very similar healing effects. Is there a lore explanation for this?

When I was a teenager playing New Vegas for the first time, I used to imagine the reason was Sunset Sas bottles had lead lining. I guess I thought that for so long I believed it was stated somewhere in the game. However, I looked at the wiki today out of curiosity and there doesn't seem to be any mention of it anywhere.

Haven't really played this game but watched several videos because the lore seems interesting and I haven't come across one going deeply on the effects of the nukes on the other people not in the vault or without bunkers. Like are they totally anahilated? Or were there survivors?

Also, whose a good youtuber to watch for fallout lore content? Thanks.
