Melee Combat with Gen 1 Synths

    Posted: 27 Apr 2021 09:45 PM PDT

Okay so I was working my way through Switchboard with my melee build character and I started thinking... In actual combat beyond what Bethesda can animate- where would you logically want to strike a Gen 1 Synth?

I think it would be super freaking cool (in a, y'know, dark and morbid way) if you could kill Gen1s by reaching in and just ripping out the "heart" component they have. But would that be possible? (As in, would you get electrocuted or is the heart too deeply forged in to be able to grab, etc.) Or do you think they'd go down faster if you want for the head?

Gen 1s are so "open" I kinda wonder if you could kill them by ripping out some central wires and just call it a day.

Obviously, we know through VATS some of the best ways to take them out in game- but Im more looking for Lore or Lore Theory on what would be the best combat strategy if you found yourself up against a Synth and without a gun.

... Hopefully this post makes sense.

Is there any example of ex-Legionaires in Caesar's Legion?

And if there aren't any specific examples of ex-Legionaires, what would happen if someone tries to leave? Thanks for your time and answers!

Why is Technology in the Fallout World so weird?

    Posted: 27 Apr 2021 03:02 PM PDT

Let me explain; There are Atomic Cars, Forcefields, advanced AI and even Power Armor, but Televisions (most of them) are in black and white and Computers/Terminals are mostly text based, with their Holotape Games looking like they would fit an Atari 2600. Is there a reason why the Tech in this world is so weirdly inconsistent?

In New Vegas we see the Fallout 3 style centaurs. Does that mean that the Fallout 1 designs are non-canon?

    Posted: 27 Apr 2021 04:28 PM PDT

In Fallout 1 we have the two-headed centaurs, one human head and one dog, but in the Mojave they are identical to Fallout 3.

It could just be a simplicity thing in design, but when they altered the super mutants designs and created multiple new enemies and assets, it makes you wonder.

Do the original ones not exist? Are they extinct? Did Moe wander in from the Capital Wasteland on a ragtag journey to find his inner self?
