Anyone else really want spiders to appear?

    Posted: 14 Apr 2021 12:09 PM PDT

Theres so many insects and bugs, I really feel like spiders would have survived and stuff.
Imagine A 3 foot tall green glowing radioactive web shooting 8 legged beast, that would be epic

I want the ability to skin animals.

You take out a swarm of mirelurks in a sewer and all you get is some pesky meat. Why not take their exoskeletons to someone who can make you some kickass armor? It could have bonuses, like extra protection against certain creatures. I feel like it'd add another level to legitimate survival.

I love FO4, but can not stand the crashing and the horrid frame-rate drops

    Posted: 14 Apr 2021 06:30 PM PDT

Seriously, the only thing I'm really scared of now is my game crashing and then losing my progress. And of course, that god awful frame-rate.

It's scarier than a vertibird randomly crashing near you.

F76: Fallout 76 sucks at factions

    Posted: 14 Apr 2021 07:23 PM PDT

They dont expand on factions that already preexist like Free States or Responders, or Mothmen, etc. Those 3 imo are actually super interesting. But no both story dlcs focused on generic good and bad guys and the BOS. 3 factions that are overused in trope and in lore. I could probably make a better wastelanders campaign instead of generic ass good vs bad.

Trying to come up with a justification for the Institute's existence

    Posted: 14 Apr 2021 08:28 AM PDT

My problem with the central thesis behind siding with them is that they're technically not the only technological hub around.

In Kelogg's memory sequence, there was brief mention of him being a hired guard for the Shi in New California. In F2, the Shi were a major faction within San Francisco. They were the children of Chinese remnants who were lampooned by the coast and they use the technologies from the Shi-Huang-Ti submarine to establish a foothold in the remnants of Chinatown.

    They fortified their Steel Palace and established a major research base that was leagues above anything we've seen from the West coast, barring perhaps the technologies available to House and from within the Lucky 38. They accomplished technological feats such as;

    - restoring T51 power armor and having the industrial output to actually sell various suits through vendors to merchants.

    - establishing research into spacefaring technologies, thought to have been lost before the war.

    - by F2's timeline, they were able to replicate Vertibird schematics. We can assume that by F:NV's timeframe, they would've been capable of producing Vertibirds for the whole of the NCR.

    - and lastly, their botany department created a type of radiation consuming vine that scoured radiation from San Francisco completely. Something that, we can safely assume, led to purified drinking water for the masses. A thing that's rare even in the Commonwealth, if anyone's ever taken a swim to the bottom of the sea in power armor.

They even have a P.A.M.-like device that they made their Emperor, which was the submarine's mainframe. It allowed for highly accurate algorithmic predictions that directed the Shi in all their activities.

While it is clear that the Institute have accomplished feats even greater than that (creating artificial, sapient life + teleportation + limited cure to FEV mutation), it's clear they aren't the sole inheritors of pre-war science. One could even argue, depending on which ending they believed transpired, the Big MT could be utilized for the advancement of human progress. For me, I really felt disconnected whenever trying to do a Institute playthrough because of that background knowledge.

It felt more like they were Vault-tec (which was probably intentional on Bethesda's part) conducting experiments because they were in a position of power, rather than whether or not they should. They were entirely disconnected from the politics and survival of the Commonwealth, and felt rather elitist from their privileged positions. Going as far as to allow a potentially vengeance-filled Sole Survivor in X-01 power armor and utilizing a Gatling laser into their facility because their patriarch wanted to test a "what-if" scenario.

Got Attacked From Falling Off A Ledge (Fallout 4)

    Posted: 14 Apr 2021 07:27 AM PDT

I was wearing power armour in Diamond City, jumped off a ledge and suddenly everyone started attacking me. Does power armour do damage when you jump down from somewhere?

How To Fix This Problem In FO4

    Posted: 14 Apr 2021 07:26 PM PDT

EDIT TITLE:: How Do I Fix This Problem In FO4?

Since fallout 4's subreddit is private, I hope it's cool to post a mission question on here...

I'm on Randolph Safehouse 4 (Medical Center Metro) and I go to the dead drop location and nothing is in the mailbox. I looked up the issue and I didn't get a clear answer on how to fix it. I know I can use a console command but I don't know which one. I did go back to a previous load file + I've also exited out to my desktop and tried again. -Thanks!

    Minutemen or Responders?

    Posted: 14 Apr 2021 07:34 AM PDT

HELP PLEASE!!! Strange bug makes screen very bright/white, lowers framerate and prevents movement.

    Posted: 15 Apr 2021 12:09 AM PDT

This is driving me CRAZY!! Frequently when i fall i get a bug that forces me to restart the game. The bug makes the screen whiter and whiter and more and more bright until i can barely see anything. The framerate is butchered and the pip boy is the only way i found that helps with the white screen. Occurs sometimes but not always. There seems to be no other trigger other than falling, maybe jumping too. I've found similar bug complaints and tried the suggestion of removing wetness effects, but that doesn't help to shit. Is it a framerate issue?

A two part question about Dead Money.

    Posted: 14 Apr 2021 03:05 PM PDT

    1. Can you take stuff with you? I heard that you shouldn't bring anything, but I also heard this DLC is hard so IDK if people are trying to troll.

    2. What are the best perks I should get before I go in? Also what should I put my stats towards?

    Fallout: Yesterday

    Posted: 14 Apr 2021 10:28 PM PDT

Fallout Yesterday is apparently a mod looking to make Fallout Van Buren in Fallout 2's engine.

And you can actually play it. Well part of it. The creator is building the game in junks.

From what I've seen from the footage it actually looks pretty interesting. The mod allows you to play as a ghoul or a super Mutant.

Has anyone tried it yet? Thoughts? Concerns? Van Buren always seemed like such an interesting game to me and I really hope this mod ends up completing it.

Can someone explain how the heck raider outposts work?

    Posted: 14 Apr 2021 01:11 PM PDT

I am doing the Nuka Cola world expansion for the second time and I'm ignoring the Open Season quest, and going the Raider boss route.

I've got four settlements for the pack, four settlements for the operators, and I don't know how many settlements supplying food to the outpost.

I don't know do I need one for each Raider outpost? Does it matter how close they are in relation to the settlement? I ask my raiders what they need, and they say they're hungry. But I've got settlements that produce like 30 food and I don't know how it's getting to the outpost. :0 what do?? Lol

Can't get Euclids c finder ammo because I sided with Legion?

    Posted: 14 Apr 2021 03:55 PM PDT

Every time I approach Helios One, I get shot at. I can only assume this means I can't do "That lucky old sun?" Is there a way I can get the ammo without having to do the quest or am I just screwed? I can fight my way through it pretty easily if that's an option as well.
