Why did nobody tell me that robobrains use rifles in Fallout 1? Posted: 16 Feb 2021 11:09 PM PST So I'm playing through Fallout 1 for the first time and I'm in the glow complex. Turn on the power, robots activate, as I suspected they might. Oh hey, the robobrains in the 3D titles are a pretty good translation. Then one pulls out a rifle. Wait, what? Bethesda, I beseech you. If there is one thing that you should bring back from 1, give the robobrains back their guns. Please. It looks so goofy, and I love it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Feb 2021 09:32 AM PST Yeah, so I'm a little burnt out on the wasteland after playing hundreds of hours across the entire franchise in the last year. I'd like to dive into a new RPG that's not made by Bethesda. Honestly not a huge fan of The Witcher. It's little dry, too much boring dialog, and just lacks character. Great clean game, but forgettable. Cyperpunk, egh. I've been thinking about RDR2, but wanted to open it up to the FO community to see if anything tickles their fancy? Obsidian made Outer Worlds? Posted: 16 Feb 2021 01:41 PM PST The Fallout series has great settlements in general: Shady Sands, Rivet City, Diamond City. When I started playing Fallout 3 way back when, Megaton was a great introduction to the post apocalyptic world. It showed that the highest level of development was a shanty with a cult, but at least the people weren't bad. The Power of Atom introduced you to the karma system, you could pick up Jericho and stand off against Moriarty. The Wasteland Survival guide quest introduced you to the fundamentals of the new series they were making. Give credit where it's due. [link] [comments] |
{FNV| If you could add one thing to the Wild Wasteland Trait, what would it be? Posted: 17 Feb 2021 01:12 AM PST Remember Ricky? He's the lovable guy with the Happy Trails Caravan Company at the beginning of Honest Hearts and a compulsive liar. He mentions killing a Brotherhood of Steel Paladin by shooting his Power Helmet in the Eye Slots with a 11mm Machine Gun and killing I think it would be funny for a Wild Wasteland Encounter where it turns out everything Ricky said was true. You would find a couple of "Deathjaw" corpses and you get ambushed by one of them and nearby is the elusive 11mm Machine Gun that comes with unique 11mm Ammo and crafting recipe for said ammo. The other encounter would be the corpse of a BoS Paladin and interacting with the corpse will tell you there's a Bullet Hole in the Eye Slot. Edit: messed up the title, meant for it to read [FNV] [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Feb 2021 01:23 AM PST So I finally got Fallout 76 and thought I share an online experience I had after about 12 hours of gameplay.. I was just strolling around the beginning map area when I saw this nice player base. While I was looking around it had a level 1 locked door leading to a small shed with absolutely nothing in it. After I picked the lock I got a 10 cap bounty on my character, not a big deal wouldn't you think? Well within just a few minutes a level 991 player walks up to me and kills me with just 2 shots giving that player 50 caps for clearing the bounty. That's ok, but while my body was still laying there that same player emptied all his weapons on me.. I felt weird and annoyed so I decided to leave the server and try again. After about 15 minutes in a new server there i was again, strolling for loots. Then I entered a shack somewhere in the woods, noticed some rad roaches, got rid of them and was ready to loot the place dry. After a short while I stumbled upon a locked chest so I started picking the lock. I know my fallout games so I'm pretty quick with the lockpicking. While I was picking I heard another radroach who was hiding under a bed or something jump at me but I thought hey, I've got this lock in no time, I'm good! Then I heard loud footsteps and gunshots quickly coming my way, what was happening?!? As I opened the lock and turned around there was this level 220 player in power armor who stood over the (now dead) radroach, he looked at me, gave me thumbs up and ran away. I followed him for a few seconds and saw him disappear into the distance. Goodbye and thanks MY HERO This game has a very disturbing but also nice player base [link] [comments] |

An idea for a new faction: Vault-Tec Posted: 16 Feb 2021 10:47 PM PST Did Vault-Tec survive the Great Wear? Yes, in Vault 1, the "observation" vault designed to house Vault-Tec employees and monitor the experiments. Per another post I made:
At some point I'd imagine Vault-Tec would come into conflict with the government employees in Vault 1 who would presumably want to take over the mission for the Enclave, which would make for a good story. As a New Vegas mod it'd be a good way to add a large piece of content to the base game without having to do all the work of a total conversion. Caesar would demand you destroy them, but you can negotiate a truce with them during House Always Wins or For the Republic (you can try during Side Bets, but they don't trust you to run Vegas on your own). My reasoning for this: They'd perceive Independent Vegas as unstable and doomed to fail and would obviously want to avoid the Legion. NCR and Mr. House would be seen as more stable options by them and therefore one of their victories would prompt them to emerge. [link] [comments] |
on my way home from a root canal treatment when. Posted: 17 Feb 2021 02:45 AM PST am i the only one who sees the deathclaw in the middle of this town logo? [link] [comments] |
New Vegas Miniatures from Modiphius Posted: 16 Feb 2021 02:59 PM PST The upcoming Fallout Wasteland Warfare release is focused around New Vegas and the Mojave Desert and most of the boxes getting released this spring and summer. NCR, Legion, Nightkin and a smattering others are being included and these are some of the best sculpts from the line I've seen. [link] [comments] |
What is your dream Fallout faction? Posted: 16 Feb 2021 04:49 PM PST If you were asked to create your own Fallout faction in the vein of Caesar's legion or the BoS, what would it be? Would they have some theme like the Minutemen or Legion? What do they believe in or strive for? If they already exist in Fallout who is it and why? [link] [comments] |
Make Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout: Tactics Available For iPad Posted: 16 Feb 2021 09:40 AM PST Before you tell me this is ridiculous, hear me out. Modern iPads are some incredibly capable machines. The processing power and memory necessary is there. The games take up less than a gigabyte each, and the UI in the early Fallout games would work well with touch controls imo. Just open up the inventory menu, drag an item and drop it to your equipped slot. Imagine dictating your movement in the overworld map with the touch of your finger! iPads also recently added cursor and mouse support - for those who prefer the old school style. Bethesda is well versed in making games for portable devices (Fallout Shelter and Elder Scrolls: Blades), and they certainly have the resources. I think this could be a wonderful way to familiarize people with the older games in the series. Alternatively, I'd settle for a version of the original fallout games for Mac (they might already exist, they just aren't on Steam, which is where I do the majority of my PC gaming). Fallout 4 - Cinematic Intro/Opening COLORIZED and UPSCALED using AI [4K] Posted: 16 Feb 2021 05:41 AM PST This video was recorded from the original Fallout 4 game (2015) and the following restoration algorithms were employed: 1 - AI upscaling using Topaz Video Enhance AI 2 - Colorization using DeOldfy DeOldify is an AI Neural Network software that is capable of colorizing black and white images using thousands of pictures as references. Posted: 16 Feb 2021 05:59 PM PST It's a tie between him and Rex. FO4 Dogmeat's AI is superb and realistic as it gets (ignoring the typical Bethesda Magic). What I like about him is Dogmeat always positions himself ahead of you and matches your walk, run and sprint speed, instead of lagging behind like the rest of followers do; he still does falter behind but very seldom. He immobilizes enemies in range and holds them down, so that you can have a clear shot at them. He even has a dedicated perks to him to maximize his stats and synergy (Attack Dog and Lone Wanderer). Sure he may not be a ranged fighter nor Deathclaw wrangler like Rex from New Vegas but you can count on him to help you out of tight spaces. He heavily reminds me of Roach from Witcher, if he's a dog. Shame there was no option to pet him in vanilla, and the Survivor only pets him once and every time he fetches something. Just let me pet the dog whenever! [link] [comments] |
Which settlement is the best for a tower-like base in which I can keep all of my companions? Posted: 16 Feb 2021 06:46 PM PST I just recently had the idea of making a settlement exclusively for a place to keep all of my available companions so it's easier than having to remember which one I left them at (a rookie mistake I still make years later). I thought about Covenant but after I just did the quest to unlock it, I'm not as sure anymore. I never had it in any previous playthroughs and kind of want to keep it minimalistic like it is. Has anyone else had this idea before? I haven't checked out any videos for inspiration but I've been looking all over google and only getting designs for specific companion homes, not a New Vegas-like casino where I can stash all my buddies and force them to coexist. You ever just play New Vegas vanilla? Posted: 16 Feb 2021 11:27 PM PST With 0 mods even thought you have the capability to run almost 100 of them. Its surprising liberating to not have to trouble shoot for like 30 minutes because the grenade hot key loaded before the master for some other file. To just play the game as it came out when you were a teenager. [link] [comments] |
Fallout Tactics squad member dies after Kansas city Posted: 17 Feb 2021 03:11 AM PST I have already beaten Kansas city protected the ghouls and killed the super mutant commanders but when I returned to bunker gamma Farsight immediately dies I hear a gunshot sound and she just dies is this a bug or was it intended [link] [comments] |

Am I going to miss out alot if I side with the Legion? Posted: 17 Feb 2021 02:48 AM PST Im on my 3rd playthrough and I wish to side with the Legion for the first time. However, it seems like the game is always steering the courier towards the ncr. The thing that bothers me the most is missing out on quests and having most of the mojave including your companions againts you. Just want to side with the legion to see something new but I feel like im gonna hate playing that all the way [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Feb 2021 10:43 AM PST So in far harbor can I side with the people destroying CoA and then report Acadia to BoS and still get both the perks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Feb 2021 01:04 AM PST Just bought F4 GOTY and booted it up. First problem is that it didn't recognize any of my specs. So I set them to ultra since my PC can handle it easily. (PC Specs at the bottom of the post if you'd like to see. I could be wrong tho since I'm new to PC.) But the problems got worse just at the main menu. My TV would lose the signal then gain it back then lose it again and it repeated every second it would go back and forth. I'm new to PC gaming so I'm at a loss as what to do to fix it. I've tried messing with the pc resolution and the TV itself. Can anyone help? If I can't figure it out I'm gonna have to ask for a refund from steam and I'd hate to do that since I was looking forward to F4 on PC. The HDMI is plugged into one of the 4K @ 60Hz ports. Set it to 4K and set it to 60Hz and didn't fix it. I'm at a loss. I've been noticing so many other games not displaying right or just not showing anything since I've started using my TV. I currently can't afford a monitor at the moment so it's TV or bust right now. Thank you to all that help. My Specs: Storage Type:SSD Total Storage Capacity: 1000 gigabytes Solid State Drive Capacity: 1000 gigabytes Solid State Drive Interface: NVMe System Memory (RAM):16 gigabytes DDR4 SDRAM System Memory RAM Speed: 3000 Megahertz Cached Memory: 32 Megabytes Graphics:AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT Graphics Type: Discrete Video Memory: 8192 MB Video Memory Type: Dedicated Processor Speed (Base):3.6 gigahertz Processor Model: AMD 3rd Generation Ryzen 7 Processor Model Number: 3700X Processor Cores: 8-Core Operating System:Windows 10 Cooling System:Liquid Operating System Architecture:64-Bit [link] [comments] |
How do you get full screen on pc? Posted: 16 Feb 2021 05:30 PM PST How do you get full screen on pc? I have a 3440x1440 monitor and the game on steam doesn't even have a option close to that. I've tried going on into the files and changing them to my size and the it gets even smaller. If I turn off borderless and windowed, it fits my screen to well. Cuts off around where the cross hair is. I could really use some help here, really pisses me off Bethesda can't have this in there already. Even oblivion has my screen size as an option. Posted: 16 Feb 2021 06:55 PM PST Hey guys, I'm new to the game and would like to blast through the story with the best gear in the game. Is this possible through mods? Thanks [link] [comments] |
