Best Player Homes to use during DLC?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 06:19 AM PST

I'm going to be starting my first hardcore-jsawyer run in a short, and have been grappling with the reduced inventory and other changes. Disregarding the Sink, obviously, what are good areas to use while in a DLC map, that have useful things like containers, water sources, campfires, and just an atmosphere and look that you personally enjoy?

Is Independent Vegas open to interpretation?

    Posted: 22 Feb 2021 11:39 PM PST

I've always assumed that Independent Vegas was a "whatever the player wants" kinda ending because when you are confronted by General Oliver this conversation can ensue.

Oliver: Think you got the guts to carve out a frontier? Build towns, protect the roads, run supplies, train troops?

Courier: I guarantee that I've put more thought into the state of the Mojave than you or anyone in NCR Can't do a worse job than the Republic, that's for sure.

This line along with other lines in the game referencing the Couriers plans for the region such as being able to say to Julie Farka's that you will provide automated security for the region and saying they can "Rebuild Vegas" when confronting Ulysses makes me always assume that the ending with Independent Vegas was meant to be open to interpretation and the slides to show the aftermath of Independent Vegas are supposed to be short term problems that are in the wake of the immediate aftermath of the battle of Hoover Dam.

I might be entirely wrong with this assumption but it was always the kinda vibe I got from playing the game and if this isn't the case it makes me wonder why you are able to select certain dialogue options.

    Look at this shorty

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 10:15 AM PST

Glitched outside the map and immediately went over to the Old Nuclear Test Site.

    Posted: 22 Feb 2021 07:37 PM PST

Does anyone else pick Independent Vegas just so the NCR can get their shit together?

    Posted: 22 Feb 2021 12:27 PM PST

I'm under the impression that the NCR need's a good old kick in the nuts to shake out it's imperialist expansion, overextension, and general political corruption. Siding with the NCR isn't a great way too do this because if you do so the hero's of the Republic become people like Lee Oliver a man with no tactical skill and Colonel Moore a ruthless hardline careerist who is "better at making graves than making friends."

That's why I always try to make Chief Hanlon the Senator of Redding in his ending slide so he can work to potentially fix the problems of the NCR from the inside along with working with the NCR pretty much up to the end game.

One ending is siding with the families in Vegas yet they don't get slide endings

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 08:37 AM PST

Always struck me as odd that the Vegas families like the White Gloves, Tops, and Gomorrah Gangsters never got any end slides even though how you can interact with them till the end game varies wildly.

Was this ever a planned feature?

What you think will happen to Lanius after he lost the second battle of Hoover Dam with Caesar alive?

    Posted: 22 Feb 2021 09:52 PM PST

When you finish the battle with NCR, House or Yes Man with speech checks with Lanius and he retreat, even if what the Courier discuss with Lanius makes sense, The Legion still losing the battle, again, a shame for Caesar for losing his "Rome". Since Joshua Graham was trown down the canyon as an example for losing (not that bad) the first battle, what you think Caesar will do to Lanius?

    Wierdest crashing

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 02:49 AM PST

So, i've been playing modded new vegas for about 17 hours, at this save. I go to make a new game after 3 days, i go through the doc mitchell stuff, and after the hardcore menu pops up and i choose, a crash! I now cannot go back to any of my saves without crashing. Something is making me crash, that didn't before and i don't know why. I didn't change anything in mod loader 2.

After three years, I finally finished New Vegas.

    Posted: 22 Feb 2021 05:16 PM PST

Fallout 3 was my first RPG ever and I loved it SO much. I went ham on that game. Full completionist playthrough. So in 2017, I got New Vegas and started another very painstakingly thorough playthrough and then got to one of the final quests before I realized that a game breaking glitch made me unable to finish the game. (It messed up all of my faction reputations, leaving me locked out of finishing, pretty much.)

So I started it again, incredibly tilted and mourning my first playthrough, but about halfway through it life circumstances put me in a pretty dark place and I didn't touch it for a year while I was battling severe depression.

I finally picked it back up late 2020 and just finished it on PS3 15 minutes ago.

It took three years, but I finally finished New Vegas and all DLC! Suicide, game breaking glitches, and the general stressful whirlwind of life couldn't stop me! Sorry for the mundane post, I was just super super happy about it and I wanted to share :D

Wtf does yes man do after Hoover damn? (More assertive???)

    Posted: 22 Feb 2021 04:51 PM PST

So basically does yes man let you run new Vegas for a while than decide he's in charge whenever he reboots? I've though about this for a long time

Is it normal that Lily stealthes up and destealthes every milisecond when attacking?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 04:03 AM PST

Just met her and she's my favorite companion by far, but this constant earblasting is annoying.

Couldn't find anyone complaining about it on the internet, so maybe it's a rare bug?
