After pre-ordering New Vegas back in 2010, and starting playing it again in March 2020, I finally completed it for the first time today

After playing fallout 3 I was excited for New Vegas so pre-ordered it back when it was released on 360. I played it most of the way through in a few days, but didn't want to complete it until dlc came out (assumed dlc would be the same as F3 where it'd stop the game from ending. I really enjoyed the game and didn't want it to end haha.) Unfortunately I never got round to playing it again when the dlc came out.

My country had a really strict home confinement from March-May and so I was pleasantly surprised to see my decidedly average laptop could run New Vegas. I was even more pleasantly surprised to see I could get the ultimate edition for 4€!

Anyway after starting a new save in March 2020 I enjoyed it to the point where I didn't want it to end (again haha), I just liked knowing in the back of my head that I still had new New Vegas content to play. I was also very torn between NCR and independent endings and felt so invested in the save I was scared of making a bad decision.

Yesterday I said "fuck it, time to finish this" and almost 10 and a half years after starting it, and 1 year after starting my save, I finished it. Really took me 10 and a half years to decide to go with the NCR.

Apologies for the boring post anyway, I had nobody to tell that I finally finished the game after so long. Something that stopped me finishing it for so long was the fact that there'd be no more new content for me to play, so when I saw The Frontier was coming out I thought "wow, perfect, I can play finally finish the game and there'll be some more good content for me to play" hahahaha :(

What are some of your FNV Headcanons and Immersions?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2021 06:55 AM PST

    Some of mine:

    1. Mr. New Vegas is broadcasted from the Lucky 38.

    2. The Crashed Vertbird on the southern end of the Mojave was an Enclave Vertiird originally carrying the Tesla-Beaton Prototype to Raven Rock where it would have been improved upon and given the Enclave a huge advantage in the Brotherhood-Enclave War, but the Vertibird malfunctioned and crashed, with the Enclave opting not to go back for it. The schematics for this weapon were also on board.

    3. The cave leading to the entrance of Vault 24 had collapsed and forever buried the Vault, making it impossible to find. Any mentions of Vault 24 had been lost to time.

    4. The reason the Mister Handles and Gutsies sound different than their East Coast counterparts is because the robots found in FNV are actually a newer version of these robots, but the Great War happened before they could be shipped throughout the US.

    5. The Brotherhood of Steel, at least most West Coast Chapters are fully aware Big MT exists and even attempted several times to find and explore the place, but all of their Exploratory Teams were captured and turned into Lobotomites. Eventually, the High Elders decided it wasn't worth wasting any more BoS Members and Resources trying to get into Big MT, so they stopped trying.

    6. The Courier has become immortal due to the technologies in Big MT.

    7. The Courier has found and snuck in and out of Vault 13. Their souvenir was the Vault 13 Canteen and Vault 13 Suit they later armored up.

    8. Mr. House knows about Yes Man and was trying to regain control of the Securitron in order to use it to kill Benny and recover the Platinum Chip himself.

9 Victor was placed in Goodsprings some years prior to the events of FNV because Mr. House thought he would have the Chip earlier than he did. Victor was meant to follow the Courier to make there they would not run off with it.

    1. Some corrupt NCRCF Guards helped with the breakout. They only wanted a small riot to get the NCR to send more Guards and Supplies, but it "small riot" quickly spiraled out of control.

Why I Keep Returning to Fallout: New Vegas (Video Essay)

    Posted: 21 Feb 2021 07:57 AM PST

I was today years old when I realized that you can hold the 3rd person toggle to rotate the camera around you.

    Posted: 21 Feb 2021 10:03 AM PST

Since I got the game a few years ago, I always thought that you couldn't see the front of your character. I guess I just figured it was a limitation of the development, and I had not seen anyone else do it.

Today, I was at the Raided Farmstead near Wolfhorn Ranch, and I accidentally held down the toggle (I think the default is the F key on PC). To my surprise, the camera started panning! Now, I can see the face of my character and the front of armors!

Did anyone finish Tales from Burning Sands?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2021 05:10 AM PST

I am wondering because I tried playing it and got to Chapter 3 and I just gave up. I checked around some videos and I have noticed some people also stopped playing it. I am just wondering did anyone finish that mod at all? And is it worth it in the end?

    FNV Asurah Reanimation pack

    Posted: 21 Feb 2021 07:48 AM PST

I downloaded this mod and don't have EVE, WMI or WMX yet the animations of some weapons are buggy and snap onto place. It looks fucking horrible, like my character has muscle spasms all of a sudden in combat. Here is a video of how it looks like, the video isnt mine but the problems sure persist.
