    Where is Boone originally from?

Title pretty much says it all. Is it ever stayed where Boone was from before joining the NCR military? Was he a Mojave or NCR native?

What did Dean Domino let go?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 04:17 AM PST

Dead Money really hammers down the theme of letting go. Christine had to let go of her bitter pursuit on Father Elijah; Dog/God had to let go of his identity along with his ties with the Sierra Madre, one way or another; Father Elijah had to let go of his humanity to achieve his goals; The Courier had to let go of something, depending on how you play them (The gold bars, Sierra Madre keepsakes, or the comforts of common sense and practicality)

One thing I never caught was, what did Dean Domino let go of exactly?

Seems to me that all he did was plan a long con, suffer through his setbacks for 200 years, live with the fact that he was a horrible person, and depending on how The Courier treats him, leaves the Sierra Madre like he learnt nothing.

So what did our resident King of Swing let go of, exactly?

The incompetence of the NCR with their use of vertibirds

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 11:39 AM PST

So after the capture of Navarro and other outposts due to the destruction of the oil rig it's assumed the NCR was able to repurpose some vertibirds as evidenced by Bear Force One that Kimball uses to travel to Hoover Dam.

Also after nuking the Long 15 during Lonesome Road some vertibirds are shown strewn throughout the area.

This leads me to believe the NCR may have quite the fleet. The vertibirds in the Long 15 wouldnt just sit there with no purpose as the NCR is an industrialized nation that would be capable of repairing them, using Bear Force One as a tablet to look off of so to speak. This doesn't even tackle the fact some of them may have been flying when the nuke hit as evidenced by impact craters not unlike the Crashed Vertibird site near Searchlight.

So instead of utilizing this supposed fleet or even Bear Force One, the NCR does nothing against the Legion camped right on the other side of hoover dam. The Legion has no anti aircraft capabilities.

While this can be rebutted by saying there was never concrete evidence that the legion has no capabilities, as the legion was able to obtain a howitzer from Yuma, the chance to utilize air support is still overwhelmingly in the NCRs favor. There is also the question of fuel for the vertibirds, but if Bear Force One has enough fuel to say hi to the troops at the Dam it should have enough fuel to skip over the Colorado with 10 salvaged mini nukes from the Boneyard and lay waste to Arizona's best. A ten minute Operation at the least.

While some spears and knives thrown with the fury of Mars may hit the hull, they won't do much.

Imagine what one strafing run could do against a camp of neatly organized tents and people wearing nothing but crude leather football pads and sheet metals stripped from a decaying Chryslus.

The widespread bureaucratic corruption is evident throughout the story yes, and Caesar even states that invasions by democracies are always half measured. To me, this blatant disregard for air superiority trumps all of that. To have the capability to lay waste to the Fort, even with Bear Force One alone, is evidence of incompetence at the highest echelons of NCR power.

Is it ever explained why every car in fo4 has the interior stripped clean?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 01:21 PM PST

Almost every car in the game has nothing inside the cabin and there's no explanation as to why.

Is there any canonical explanation as to why the Mariposa Super Mutants in New Vegas are always bald?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 11:28 PM PST

I've noticed that Mariposa Super Mutants from Fallout 1 and 2 sometimes have hair on their head, but no Mariposa Mutants in New Vegas are seen with hair. I was wondering if that was an oversight, or if there's an explanation for it.

Curious about Kellogg and the institute

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 07:25 AM PST

Okay so when you are in Kellogg's memories he talks about the "old man" who sent him to take Shaun and kill Nora/Nate. Initially i thought the old man is father but if shaun is father that can't be the case , can someone explain this to me please . I don't know much about the lore i'm just curious .

What's the best anti-armor weaponry the wasteland has?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 03:18 PM PST

So going on a more realistic approach where u actually needed to be able to pierce power armor units, what would be some efficient non-explosive weaponry that the wasteland can offer?

How far is Jean Skydiving from Goodsprings in reality? Would a settler there ever have reason to walk over there or do all the powdergangers stop them - or is that much more recent than I'm thinking?

Can someone explain when/how the Casinos outside New Vegas stopped/restarted operation? I thought house got the big 3 up and running in a hurry fairly recently when the NCR got big enough to matter. But the V&V and BS casinos were or were not going on before/during/after that time?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 11:03 AM PST

It seems like I can't find any solid lore on this and that's maybe just bad searching on my end like I don't know what questions to ask or where.

A discussion about Shaun and Father.

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 11:10 AM PST

I believe there`s enough evidence to say the Institute leader Father is not Shaun.
Let me prove it to you. If you really pay attention, you will find all of these clues. Let's start with the fact that Father is 60 in the game. This here is an important thing. Now to the clues:

    1. When you travel through Kellogg's memory and get to the kidnapping part doctor Amari says it's something recent. That's can't be 60 years old.
    2. Kellogg was born in the NCR. The NCR started as a Vault dweller community and did not establish a big presence up until the events of Fallout 2 (46 years before Fallout 4) which makes it chronologically impossible for him to actually be approaching 100 years of age.
    3. When talking to you Kellogg is referring to Shaun sentimentally like he's still a little boy.
    4. When Kellogg was in the Diamond City with Shaun he mentions an Old Man's plan. Father IS that old man, we know it because the previous leader was a woman (remember his hiring scene).
    5. That Diamond city memory scene has the radio broadcast about Piper's newspaper, which once again makes it absolutely impossible for that scene to take place 50 years before Sole Survivor finds Kellogg.
    6. Father's last wish was you parenting little Shaun. Father does NOT consider synths human, they are nothing more than Mr.Handies to him. He is VERY clear about that. He would not be sentimental to something he considers a talking toaster.
    7. Little Shaun knows you are his parent. How on Earth would they program him to think a person he never even saw was his parent? The only reasonable explanation is that little Shaun himself KNOWS he is not a synth. The Institute doesn't program their synths to think they are human unless they were supposed to replace or rather displace someone. You are not telling me little boy was displacing a person (supposed little Shaun) FROM 50 YEARS AGO.
    8. Father never tries to bond with Sole Survivor and be their kid for a second. No "let's talk about how you met mom/dad" no personal stuff, no nothing. All he wants is only relevant to the Institute agenda. Including using you as Kellogg's replacement out there in the Wastes.

    Your thoughts people?

A note to the moderators: please don`t remove this. I've provided some sound evidence so it's not just speculation. And I do want to hear what other people think, I'm not saying I'm 100% right.
