What happened to all the people out at sea when the bombs fell?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 07:27 PM PST

For the most part I've never heard anything about sailors who were away when everything happened. We're there even people at sea? If there were, what did they do?

Where do buildings get their power?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 03:55 AM PST

I know that this question has been mostly answered by "there's still live wires in ruined buildings and they're just hard find etc etc", but where does that power come from? I know that some locations in fallout 4 are meant to run off of fusion cores instead of being connected to the main power grid of Boston. But wouldn't those fusion cores have run out 210 years after the great war? I know that Mass Fusion used to provide energy for Boston in 2077, but is that still active? The beryllium agitator is still active when its found in the games main questline, but it was said by a pre-war employee to be new. Would it have been hooked up to the power grid yet? I know that Boston also got power from two nuclear power plants, one in the glowing sea and another near County Crossing, but they're both ruined and inactive. This has been really bugging me for a long time now. Also I know that parts of Concord still get power, some rooms in the Museum of Freedom and the Red Rocket up the hill, but how come it just stops there? Why doesn't it go into Sanctuary Hills? It goes into the areas across the lake from Sanctuary but not Sanctuary itself and I don't understand why. I stumbled upon "The House of Tomorrow" page on the Fallout Wiki and the concept art for it depicted a Sanctuary style home with a giant reactor out the back. Similar houses were drawn up in Fallout 3's concept art with reactors - but there aren't any reactors attatched to any houses in Sanctuary Hills at all. I remember on the front and side of the Sole Survivors home in Sanctuary, there were what looked like Electricity Meters with three cylindrical slots. They look about the same size as fusion cores, so maybe they were powered by fusion cores? Let me knw if you have any ideas or answers!

Do people actually tend to mimic history?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 11:56 AM PST

Fallout takes a lot of inspiration from history to the point where it almost seems unrealistic. For example, the brotherhood is a knightly order, Caesar's legion is exactly what the name suggests, and the NCR is pre-war America. So in our history, is there any sort of societies that copied previous societies?

What's happened in the rest of the world since the war?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 08:52 PM PST

Is the rest of the world just gone? Seems hard to believe that former america is the only place where people have rebuilt.

What’s the legion’s views on marrige? Do they marry? And if so, what’s the process?

What happened to the soldiers in China when America was bombed?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 10:39 PM PST

During the intro for FO4, the Newscasters talked about soldiers pushing up through China, "The Hellcats," I believe. Is there any mention of them after waking up?

    VaultTec security guard requirements?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 09:27 PM PST

Curious what requirements were for post nuke security. Fallout 4 beginning has a guard yell " hurry, send them down!" right before the nuke drops. Always tugged my heart hearing the complete devotion these Guards have and had to the safety of those on the list.

I feel like it safe to assume that the majority of the cards were Ex military or law-enforcement. Able to take orders and have strong moral obligation to those Who are innocent.

I'm I'm trying to get out is why are there not more? It's crazy to think that not even descendants of guards who had to have survived talk about it.

Were deathclaws ever deployed before the Great War?

Why are there no ghouls in the Children of Atom?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 10:15 PM PST

I was playing far harbour and realised that there are no ghoul Children of Atom, and I wondered why there aren't ghouls since they worship radiation and are constantly around it.

    Non Great War Countries

    Posted: 21 Jan 2021 01:56 AM PST

Got a pretty crazy theory here. So, everyone knows the former United States is fucked and the same could potentially be said about China. But there are very few mentions of other countries in the Fallout universe. I have several pretty good ideas to why.

Firstly, Australia. They were supposed to go silent before the bombs dropped. Nobody knows what happened to them. My thoughts? They became deep isolationists. Like they cut contact from the world had found a way to stop people from talking to the wider world. Not a hard thing to do without an internet system. They either developed (or maybe stole) could fusion technology had decided it would be better to simply exit the world stage on their own terms rather than get involved with the Great War. Maybe they collapse after the war and something new rises out of that.

Europe is another major location. The major countries like the UK, Germany, Russia and France would certainly be naked out if existence and the vassal states they control would collapse like Belgium, Switzerland and the rest. Norway and Sweden would bounce back though. But they would end up a bit behind the times technology wise.

South America would simply return to various tribal cultures, with Brazil being the only country really capable of surviving the war, but at a reduced size. There could be a Brazilian (no jokes please) Empire, but again it would've collapsed during the nuclear winter.

Africa would be no better off than it is now due to having no real infrastructure. There is oil in parts of Africa (I know this due to research I needed for my Titan Empire series), but they'd be long gone by 2077.

The Middle East would simply be gone. There would be a few tribes of muslims and jews here and there. But the great civilisations of the past would be long gone.

Finally, Japan. This is the only country I can think of that would still be thriving long after the nukes fell. If they refocused their efforts on the sciences and technology development after WWII like in our world, we could see Japan thriving unless it was destroyed by repeat attacks from the Chinese Regime and Racist American Occupation.

Was The T-60 Post war or Pre war? Because it seems the Brotherhood builds it but the guards at vault 111, and in earlier games there seems to be T45s and T51s, but no T60s.

In what situations would power armor paints used by the military?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 03:15 PM PST

It seems like the military would use the default look of power armor but then in fo4 the guards outside vault 111 have military paint. Also, in anchorage T-51 was painted white. I can't remember any instances where we find a prewar power armored soldier who doesn't wear paint. So this begs the question, would the default look of power armor be used at all? And if so in what situations?

Was there any mention on questions regarding continuity of self due to teleportation technology from Big Mt. or Insitute?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 12:33 PM PST

I would figure there would be a few people in Institute that would just consider it cloning and possibly even original dying. As molecular relay could save data on how a person is constructed and rematerialize it in different space, then do it again making a perfect clone.

How are there so many immigrants who aren't white in Fallout series?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2021 06:44 AM PST

Isn't a premise of the series that America went fascist after WWII? Did they still attract immigrants even in that state? Or are those Asian-Indian-Middle Eastern people descended from immigrants before Fallout universe split from ours? I only played FNV but there is Aradesh, Tandi, Hsu, Dhatri, Polatli and many more I am sure
