Opinion: Bethesda is doing good with fallouts old world.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 09:08 PM PST

Some people think Bethesda focusing on the old world of fallout before the bombs is a bad thing, i think its great! I like the old world! I wouldn't listen to half the music i do if it weren't for the touch of the old world Bethesda puts. Also the fact that that fallouts post nuclear world comes from a dystopian jetsons parody( and being able to see some of that old world still) makes it stand out from other games like metro.

Cannibalism was treated much more eloquently in Fallout New Vegas in comparison to Fallout 3

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 10:18 PM PST

I mean the Fallout series has its far share of silly things, but at its heart, the series is dark, unsettling, and depressing. In a post-apocalyptic setting, subjects like cannibalism are almost guaranteed to show up, which is of course the case with Fallout. As someone who really appreciates good writing, I thought the presentation of the White Glove Society was vastly superior to that of people of Andale in FO3.

Bethesda seems to opt for more action-y takes on the Fallout games, prioritizing high-action gameplay over story. There's nothing wrong with that, but it personally isn't my cup of tea. Obsidian definitely holds the story in high regard where the gameplay comes second. Fallout 3's cannibals (the people of Andale) come off pretty obviously as cannibals, cartoonishly even. They constantly allude to their cannibalistic behavior in conversation, are grossly inbred, and keep mentioning their shed and basement. These are things cannibals realistically would avoid bringing up at all costs as to not raise suspicion. Also the fact that Old Man Harris just states that the Andale population is "crazy" as opposed to just outright telling the Lone Wanderer that they're murderous cannibals comes off as unrealistic and artificial storytelling.

The White Glove Society of New Vegas are much more realistic with their presentation. A group of social elite cannibals operating under the guise of an exclusive gourmet restaurant and casino just seems a lot more believable to me. No one would know about their true nature without getting deep in with them first, like the Courier may or may not end up doing. And at that point, they'll very likely already have you killed by an assassin if you try to spill the beans, much like they try to do in-game.

Chosen One vs Courier vs Sole Survivor vs Lone Wanderer

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 11:05 PM PST

That's it, classic playground versus battle. Take that they are the highest level they can possibly be, and they have dlc weapons if they are allowed to have it afterwards. However, they will be limited to two weapons and a single suit of armor.

It would be the coolest thing ever if Bethesda and CocaCola did a crossover

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 10:03 PM PST

It would be awesome if they partnered, and made some real like nukacola. What do you guys think? What flavors do you want?

Never played fallout 76 but the lore seems really good.

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 12:43 AM PST

I've been watching Oxhorns lore videos on 76 and it's great! Learning about the tragic story of the Brotherhood in Appalachia was my favorite so far, and hearing Roger Maxson talk gave me chills... The interloper, Tanagra town, the cryptids... Fascinating stuff.

I honestly would go for a Sunset Sarsaparilla. I fucking love the root beer flavor.

Why is the institute surveying the castle and minutemen?

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 12:08 AM PST

Is it to make sure the minutemen don't retake it or too keep a eye on them? X6-88 dislikes becoming general, powering up the radio and firing the artillery but likes building the artillery, firing the artillery at the prydwen and allying the institute with the minutemen. So as a Institute character would I retake it or leave it?

    Fallout4 Crashing

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 03:40 AM PST

I'm on Xbox one and my game keeps crashing when I play in the city east of diamond city, is this due to the mass amounts of locations and enemies constantly fighting or just a bug?

    Future Fallout location ideas

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 02:26 PM PST

Here are some locations I thought of for a future Fallout game:

Alaska: This state was a major battleground during the Sino-American War, and there are likely remnants of the Chinese Army here who were stranded during the Great War. The Enclave probably also has a presence here due to its remote location and its natural resources. It's also close to Canada, meaning that we could learn more about what happened to Canada during the Sino-American War and there could also be a DLC set in Canada. Last but not least, there might even be mutant polar bears, which would really be interesting.

Atlanta, Georgia: This is a major US city in the southeastern US, an area that has not been explored in the Fallout world. It's a major media center in real life, meaning that the player could learn more about the pre-war propaganda machine, and it's also home to Coca Cola's headquarters, which means that Nuka Cola would probably also have a big presence here. I could also see a Neo-Confederate faction being a major one in this game, except it would enslave ghouls and super mutants rather than dark-skinned humans.

New York City: Probably the most devastated city in the entire war, and would be very interesting to explore. If you think the Capital Wasteland is bad, this place is probably at least ten times worse. It would probably be the most hostile environment ever to be featured in a Fallout game. It's likely that the Enclave would have a presence in a city as important to pre-war America as New York.

Texas: This place has a lot of oil in real life, though probably less so in the Fallout world. Still, the Lone Star state has a unique culture and identity, and I could see a new Republic of Texas rising here. Houston would also have a lot of pre-war space technology and would quite possibly attract the likes of the Brotherhood of Steel. There'd be a lot of cowboy characters here too.

Canada or Mexico: Both of these countries were occupied by the US during the Sino-American War, and it would be interesting to see how they were affected by both the occupation and the nuclear holocaust.

Location ideas for future fallout games

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 10:21 PM PST

    -the frozen battlefields of Alaska

-the radiation choked forests of Oregon

The irradiated ruins of New York(if it still exists)

-The harsh peaks of the Rockies

-A return to the Texan wastelands

    -the swamps of Florida

-the flooded ruins of san Fransisco

-the mutated Midwest, where the FEV has created a a entirely new ecosystem.

Feel free to leave your other suggestions down below!

Do you guys think that Fallout should've stuck with being a turn-based Isometric RPG?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 06:33 PM PST

I honestly think they should have. It just feels more RPG-ish. Sorry if that sounds stupid. Would love to hear other people's thoughts about this.
