What are scorpions doing in D.C., Boston and West Virginia?

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 07:10 PM PST

I never really understood why radscorpions are so large in population around the North East. It made sense in California, Arizona, and Nevada. I could be wrong, but I don't think scorpions are native in northern states.

Why did they pick Rivet City Security to help with the Water Caravans?

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 10:04 PM PST

It really doesn't make sense to have Rivet City Security helping out the Brotherhood with the Water caravans around the Capital Wasteland. Rivet City doesn't have that kind of manpower and I believe they should have went organizing with Uncle Roe in Canterbury Commons to set up Water caravans on the already established Caravan Routes. Maybe it's because Rivet City is the closest Settlement to the Jefferson Memorial Purifier, but looking at the Caravan Route Map, the BoS can easily set up a Caravan Base where the Merchants can pick up the Water Supply and they can pay Mercenaries in Water to guard the caravans without wasting Rivet City's manpower.

How would a normal Wastelander gain entry to Tenpenny Tower?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2020 12:04 AM PST

I could understand how The Lone Wanderer (Optional) and Herbert "Daring" Dashwood would gain entry and residence, the latter being a Wasteland Legend for decades by 2277, but how would the average Wastelander be able to buy residence in Tenpenny Tower?

Also, how do they get supplies? None of the Caravans go even near Tenpenny Tower according to the map.

Is it practical to wear leather armour in the post-war Mojave Wasteland?

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 08:21 AM PST

Leather armour is a frequent sight in New Vegas, and seems to be gear that's cheap but provides adequate protection against common critters and less well-armed raiders. However, with the heat and constant, direct exposure to the desert sun that travellers will no doubt have when moving around, the armour could potentially be compromised. I don't really know much about leather as a material though, so I might be way off in regards to this.

My question is whether wearing leather armour is a practical choice lore-wise, and in which situations? From my understanding:

    • Is cheap to purchase and maintain
    • Decent protection for its price
    • Materials are common - no shortage of wildlife in the Mojave, can also be imported
    • Exposure will quickly degrade it
    • Still relatively weak - stronger/more numerous animals might get through

Regarding the Railroad's Main Story Ending...

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 08:28 PM PST

Is the destruction of the Institute and subsequently essentially the means of reproduction for the Synths justifiable in any way? I know some Synths kinda see themselves as monsters, but aside from that, I can't think of any other reasonable explanation.

Why Does The Institute Choose To Keep Diamond City A Safe Haven?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2020 02:00 AM PST

Since the institute doesn't really care about surface dwellers I find it a bit odd that they continue to leave Diamond city relatively alone and allow it continue to be a prospering safe community. It seems to go against their plans.

What was hacking like pre and post war?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2020 12:50 AM PST

I can really only think of one instance of hacking in fallout (in new Vegas when following brotherhood quest line) and even then it looked boring and looked as if you couldn't really do any damage, were there any other instances?

How human can a protect-tron get?

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 11:37 AM PST

Of all fallout games, who's the most human protect-tron?

I know protect-trons are one (if not) the most basic type of advanced robots out there, with eye bots being the simplest it's just a big floating metal ball, but throughout the games we've seen robots like Codsworth who's more human than most people on the commonwealth, we've got gen 3 synths, assaultrons like Polly from fallout 76 that made a sibling bond with a human (Solomon)...

So there's gotta be a "human" protect-tron, that could feel something for someone or something at least if it is just because of AI.

    Fallout New Vegas Idea

    Posted: 06 Nov 2020 07:53 PM PST

I have an idea about Fallout New Vegas. The battle should of been on the strip and not at Hoover Dam. Let me explain. The factions realizes that if you own the strip you are very powerful. So instead of preparing for a battle at Hoover Dam they prepare for the battle of New Vegas. It will also be more than a 3 faction battle.

Mr House —————- Let's say the courier sides with Mr House (obviously the best person to side with.) The courier gets the boomers, white glove society and the Omertas on their side. Boomers find an advantage point and tries to bomb the Legion before they even get on the strip. They also bomb Camp Macaron. The Omertas and white glove society lockdown their casinos and shoot at the Legion/NCR/anyone else who attacks them from windows and the roof. Securtions and the courier fight on the road of the strip.

Caesars Legion. ———————— Caesar gets his warrior (I forgot his name) to lead the battle. He gets one of his highest ranked legionarys to recruit the fiends by bribing them with Khems and the Powder Gangers through smooth talking. Their idea is to push right through everyone while having snipers on certain points.

NCR ————- The NCR cannot get many people to recruit since they are not super well liked. They get some citizens since they are the closet thing to people from before the bombs. The NCR plan to come on the back end. After everyone is hurt. They do get fucked over by the boomers however and lose a lot of soldiers before they even get at the strip. Their monorail gets blown up by a certain Legionary hehe. Basically the NCR is fucked in this battle.

Freeside —————- The kings and other gangs in Freeside try and fail to take over the strip but can slow down the other factions a little.

Brotherhood Of Steel ————————————- You would think they wouldn't get involved but you would be wrong. Their new elder wants to get involved. Their plan is not to take over New Vegas however. Their plan is to get back at the NCR. Revenge. The new elder is mad about what happened at Helios and pulls a full scale invasion on camp macaron and some of the troops going to the strip.

Ghouls ————- Jason decided that this is the best time to escape the demons. He does it and stumbles upon the battle. Some ghouls that have wondered get shot by some faction in the battle and that angers Jason so much he goes in kills a good amount with how many ghouls there are but eventually retreats.

Other ———— The other factions that are not very important stay out of it.

What do you think of this. I didn't put much research in it I just did whatever came to the top of my mind. Do you think this would be cool?
