Interesting NCR Hero NPCs are lacking Posted: 29 Oct 2020 06:34 AM PDT I look at Lanius, Joshua Graham, Ulysses, Caesar and even Vulpes and I see the coolest and most bad ass characters in the game. Don't really get that from the NCR though. I don't even remember any of their names really. I wish there were more like Boone. Veteran and grizzled warriors that are obviously capable of inflicting massive damage against their enemies. With really unique and interesting stories. Like a veteran ranger who's gone rogue or maybe even works for the legion now. Maybe there's a mod for something like that? I don't know. Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below! Would love to be reminded of all the cool NCR people I'm forgetting about. [link] [comments]
JSawyer Ultimate...my thoughts from just a few hours. Posted: 29 Oct 2020 09:24 AM PDT I really enjoy the mod in some aspects. Changing the DR/DT and attributes of armors makes for more useful options. I like that the Courier's Stash DLC items aren't given to you automatically. I like that stimpacks are nerfed. I like how the interplay of bad stimpacks (thus higher reliance on food for HP), lowered carry limit, and needing to eat/drink more often on hardcore all lead to requiring some real thought about what to take with me on expeditions out away from towns. On the other hand, there are some drawbacks to the carry limit. The combination of a lowered carry limit and HP means that you're somewhat forced to be a sneaky shooter in the beginning of the game, or simply avoid enemies. You can't carry a bunch of extra weapons for any situation, you have to pick a few. And it's very dangerous to engage more than 1 enemy at time if they have a gun. It's simply too damaging, and the enemies too accurate since in the unmodded game they were accurate but their attacks weren't as significant. I would like to use my shotgun more often, but at the moment the cowboy repeater is getting a lot of use because I am so fragile. I am assuming that this will change once I put on better armor and have more perks. It's not the worst thing in the world that I am forced to apply more strategy to gunplay, but what I dislike is that it seems to make only one style of gunplay applicable in the beginning when against enemies that can shoot. Melee opponents are fine.
Are my criticisms fair, or am I missing something about the early game that would invalidate them? [link] [comments]

This is kind of pointless to post but I never knew you could find skill books in Honest Hearts. Posted: 29 Oct 2020 12:33 AM PDT I've played through Honest Hearts so much I can recite Joshua Graham's dialogue on Broadway. I have a mod installed that notifies me when skill books are in a cell. I walk into Angel Cave and I get the notification "A skill book can be found nearby." I ignore it thinking my mod is acting up. I get the message everytime I enter so i'm like fudge it, lemme take a look. Near the reloading bench in the metal case I find a Big Book of Science and i'm like WHAT! This has to be from a mod. I do a quick search on the fandom and it turns out some of the caves have a chance to spawn a skill book. I'm still flabbergasted. Every time I play this game I get something new. HELP me make my Modded New Vegas become STABLE please and TY! Posted: 29 Oct 2020 04:39 AM PDT Hi, i've been trying to make my modded new vegas stable or atleast work without freezing/crashing for almost every 2-5 mins. It's almost a week now since I started modding it to "perfection" for my gamestyle. I wanted to make my game a little bit "modernized" so I added camera, combat animation mods and such. Also I wanted to make Mojave desert a little bit more "lively" adding more NPCs such as WIS and some Quest mods like the Someguy Series mods which are the bounty hunter 1-3 , inheritance and NVK. I managed to make them work and found no errors on LOOT except bounty hunter 2 said "2 deleted navmesh" but the author said it's fine. I added patches and stuff. Though my main issue is stability i don't really know much of the compatibility of optimization mods like NVSR, NVTF, NVAC and so on. Problems and crashed varies, sometimes the game will freeze while I am walking around Mojave desert for like 1-2 mins and would resume but freeze again after 30 seconds, In some cases whenever I click "continue" on the Main menu, my game will just crash. And this is why it's so hard to find the cause of the crash. I tried some solutions on google, i disabled automatic saving and added casm mod but still, the problems persists. here is my load order, can you point out if i have conflicting or missing mods to make my game stable?and can you tell me which mods I should remove for a safe stable playthrough? IT WOULD HELP ME ALOT SINCE I'VE BEEN TRYING SO HARD AND NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK FINE, I AM LOSING MY MIND PLEASE :( [link] [comments]
