How to get Fallout running on Windows 10?

Howdy fellow Vault dwellers! I have a gaming pc that recently built and bought fallout 3 on steam for it. When I got to launch I get this error Ordinal 43, wanting me to download games for windows live. But from the look of it, that was shut down a few years back and I can't seemed to find downloads for anything to get the game working. Any recommendations or solutions on to get it to work? Thanks in advance!

Fallout 3 Builds #2: The Ghoul

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 03:32 PM PDT

After the great reception of my first fallout 3 build, (Thank you, everyone,) I decided on a character who can punch his way out of a sticky situation, and soak up radiation like a sponge.

Also, sorry if the backstory isn't fully lore friendly, I do apologise. I thought it would work better without keeping exactly to fallout 3's introductory sequence.

Backstory: The ghoul was a young school boy living in the commonwealth on the east coast. He lived his young life in an old shack on the outskirts of his nearby city, His parents being complete polar opposites, his dad being strict and aggressive. This was because he was an expert in martial arts, a skill he has practiced through his whole life. He taught the ghoul everything he could need about self defence and martial arts, although his son never seemed to care and preferred working in a more calm and collective environment. His mother was caring, but extremely sensitive, usually suffering from emotional stress during arguments. The ghoul was empathetic to her though. They lived a decent life together, on their small crop land for farming, and their humble beginnings. That was until 2077, where at only 14 years old, disaster struck. Bomb warnings began happening, and the ghoul found the horrifying news begin on the TV. Nuclear devastation was imminent. The family immediately drove at full throttle into the local town, desperately searching for shelter, until they came across a vault in the middle of town. Vault 101. It was closing however, causing the stressed, angry father of the ghoul to demand the overseer shutting the door to let him in. The overseer argued, and refused to let him in, implying how they hadn't booked, and the bombs could go off any minute. No matter how big the bribe, no matter how desperate the family was, the overseers simply shook his head in a cold, hard fashion, and closed the giant vault door. The ghoul, with tears pouring from his eyes, sat down at the entrance, with his head braced for what was about to happen. And his last memory of that fateful day ended, with him feeling the burning air breeze his face, and him falling unconscious on the vault door.

Until, he woke up. He was confused, scared, worried, and he couldn't make any sense of the situation, until he walked over a skeleton. Two skeletons. He knew what happened. His parents didn't make it. The ghoul just simply sighed however, knowing at least he survived. He walks up cautiously over the town of Springvale, the dressers and suitcases littering the ground. He looks up and sees megaton in the distance. Taking a deep breath, he walks up to a trader outside megaton, hoping to ask him what happened, but when he noticed he was there, he screamed, running away, dropping his caps on the ground. The ghoul was confused. That is until he looked at deputy welds shiny coat of metal. He gasped! He was something... disgusting... Something... Horrible. He looked back out onto the wasteland with his spirits crushed, and walked into megaton, with his spirits low, and his hope, fading.

    The ghoul will have: S: 4 P: 6 E: 7 C: 2 I: 8 A: 6 L: 6

Tag skills are: Unarmed Medicine Lockpick

I won't count the exact perks you need, but any radiation perks are great, as well as unarmed perks like iron fist and paralysing palm.

Armor will be the ghoul mask, for obvious reasons due to its practicality and obvious ghoul look, and any armor you feel like would fit; because I'm not too sure which one, but it is an RPG, so pick whichever you want.

Playstyle: The ghoul won't be very charismatic or good at bartering, due to his deformed face and groany voice. He will only use combat if the smooth skin strikes first, and he will only use fists or knuckles, preferably the Pitt steel knuckles. He will usually choose the option that gives the most benefit over morals, but there can be exceptions of your choosing.

And... That's my ghoul build! Had a lot of fun writing this, and hope to see my ghoul character out into the wasteland! Have a great day everyone!
