Finished my NCR ranger backpack today. It's a long walk from California to Nevada and it's nice to have a way to carry all the cram you can eat.

Has it ever been achieved to get 100 on all skills and 10 across the SPECIAL? Like using no console commands, is it possible?

The slow appreciation for Honest Hearts

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 01:43 AM PDT

I'm not sure what other people think and this may be tl;dr but I gotta say it.

First DLC I played was OWB. I was way underlevelled with a crappy laser rifle, sparse ammo and no idea how to combat all the roboscorpions and nightstalkers. It was terrifying but the atmosphere was so unique and I loved every minute of it.

Dead Money was next and being an Energy Weapons user, having everything stripped and having to rely on melee or guns was scary but again the atmosphere, story and NPC's were so amazing I couldn't put it down.

Then I played Honest Hearts and BOY WAS I DISAPPOINTED! The past two DLC's were wacky, scary, intriguing and incredibly immersive. This one seemed lacklustre at best. I didn't care for any new gear, the story, anything. By only focussing on the main quest I beat it much quicker than the others and felt hollow, expecting another wild roller coaster but only getting slightly nervous when I got too close to a White Leg with a Brush Gun.

Fast forward to now and HH is the DLC I have played the most. At first it was just a way to get heaps of experience for easy missions, but then I began really exploring Zion Canyon. I actually talked to Joshua Graham and gained a greater understanding of his character. I tried out the .45 guns and loved them.

And best of all, I fully explored every location, finding the incredibly heartbreaking story of Randall Clark, which has now become my favourite aspect of not just HH, but of all the DLC's and, I suspect, the entirety of FNV.

The other DLC's were fast-paced, tense action from the beginning to the end. They took time and everything you could want to explore was just around the corner. HH lacked this, and I still believe the main quest could've been better, but the atmosphere is more unique than the other three because...well...it isn't unique.

And to this day, no matter how many times I replay FNV, there is always one DLC I will come back to; Honest Hearts.

30th or so playthrough: What weapons should I be opting for?

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 08:33 PM PDT

Yo. So basically, I can't decide what weapons would be good to set up with. I always try to have one long arm, one handgun/pistol/smg, and a melee weapon. I'm level 11 with all the casinos busted, 7 per, 7 agility, 6 luck, 5 str, and zero damage-affecting perks (rapid reload, comprehension, educated, pack rat, strong back).

My favorites playing so far have been the all-american, Medicine stick, riot shotgun/modded hunting shotgun, la longue carabine, trail carbine, pew pew, ycs 186, and MF Hyperbreeder Alpha.

What do ya'll suggest for weapons setups for someone who's probably shot every gun in the game?

Fallout New Vegas Is A Very Good Game, In My Opinion:

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 03:12 PM PDT

Despite being rather rushed due to deadlines, not performing well, and overall being a glitchy mess, Fallout New Vegas is often regarded as the best Fallout game and for good reason. Fallout New Vegas is probably the best modern Fallout game when it comes to it's RPG mechanics, You wake up with amnesia and in the middle of nowhere with the vague memory of you being a courier for the Mojave Express and that a checkered suit man shot you in the head and that maybe you'll hunt him down, you know, if you want to, it's not required. Unlike Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, the rest of your character's backstory is up to you. The gameplay, while not being the best, is still pretty enjoyable with mods you can put on your weapons, making them a lot more personal to the player since you could have your own personal little weapon in your arsenal. The companions, like Fallout 4, are very fleshed out and probably the best asset of this game, Each companion has their own different background and their own affinities, for example, Boone will hate you for killing NCR soldiers, and some companions are unique like Cassidy being the daughter of a character from Fallout 2. The storyline is very unique and very varying, depending on how you play it, there are all sorts of endings, like a NCR ending, A Mr.House ending and a Legion ending, Hell, there's even a ending if you kill everyone. There are also a lot of sidequests that are very interesting and very impactful on the game, depending on how you play.

Honestly, Fallout New Vegas is a welcome addition to the Fallout franchise and a legend to remember, years to come.

Okay, so how do I really make the caps with caravan?

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 03:39 AM PDT

I've gone through forum posts and reddit posts, and I keep hearing about these people who walk into freeside with like 10 thousand caps thanks to caravan. When they explain how they did it, they explain the rules of caravan, and I get all that. But I already know how to play. How do you efficiently get the caps then?

Is there an efficient rotation of caravan vendors you can go through in order to gain it? I know for instance Cliff Bristoe in Novac is great because you can buy all the ammo and win all your caps back, but he stopped playing with me after a while. Do the caravan players obey the same reset timer that vendors do, that being 3 days? I'm just curious what else there is to know about the caravan money making method beyond just how to play the game. What's the most caravan NPCs can bet against me?

Also side note but fuck Johnson Nash, most frustrating person to play caravan against with his 10 jacks and kings or w/e
