Why is Sanctuary in Fallout 4 deserted?

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 10:10 AM PDT

I mean it doesn't make sense that Sanctuary is completely untouched from Raiders, Settlers or other Factions except from the Nuclear Bomb. I mean only Codsworth, Cockroaches, Bloatflies and Pre War Skeletons are there, and not a single thing like barricades, Armor, Weapons or object from other Factions are in Sanctuary.

(English is not my first Language so correct me if I said something wrong)

    Edit: Thanks for the responses

Was Vault 13 a control vault?

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 07:51 PM PDT

Dick Richardson literally says that it is a control vault. It was designed to remain closed for 200 years with no experiment. The water chip was seemingly a legitimate mistake. 2 people on one of my other posts were very adamant that it was testing what happens in prolonged isolation, but isnt that literally what control group means? Seeing what happens in isolation without outside factors, like an actual experiment?

They're called the handmade rifles, but handmade by who? And where?

Why did only some people die instantly once the bombs landed and remained as skeletons in the same position?

    Posted: 07 Jul 2020 01:53 AM PDT

We all know and love skeletons in Fallout 4 and 76 but isn't it weird that some people survived the blasts and we hear fr them through holotapes (like the nurse in Fallout 4 trying to treat patients at a hospital or the people in Cambridge Polymer) whereas some just died in whatever position they were before the blasts?

This is even weirder in 76 where we know that the region wasn't hit directly, so what caused the insta-death there? I guess you could say these people died post-bombs by gunshots or disease while sitting on tables and benches but certain scenes like the Valley Galleria mall show a crowded food court which I can't imagine post-war.

Also what did these people die from? If it was the blast and pressure wave how are the buildings they're in not destroyed way more? If it was the radiation then it would make sense that everyone within a certain radius died and yet we know some survived.

What we know about Jet's origin. (Repost)

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 03:27 PM PDT

Jet was invented before the Great War. It's popularity before the war led to it being issued to different Vaults during their construction, and that's all we know about it until 2241.

In 2241, a teenage chemist prodigy named Myron who claims that he invented Jet, can be found just outside of New Reno. With a high enough intelligence, the Chosen One (The Player Character) can question the Validity of Myron inventing the drug. Implying that he instead just stumbled upon the drug and enhanced it.

In response, Myron denies profusely that he didn't just find it. Through this dialogue, we can conclude that he is probably just some kid who enhanced an existing drug, making the production of it faster and cheaper.

All of this information was available on FANDOM Wiki, and I have copies of the games myself and researched this myself (With difficultly of course because I'm terrible at OG Fallout). I just figured I'd help people understand the true origin of Jet, while it's true origin is still a Post-War Mystery.

Where do the Little Lamplight kids come from?

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 10:49 AM PDT

IIRC the original kids were on a field trip to the caverns when the bombs fell and that's how they started living there, but where do the new kids come from since there's no adults?

Were the Red Rocket and the Poseidon Energy the only gas station in the United States?

Why don’t the factions (exept the BoS) have functioning air forces?

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 01:25 PM PDT

The BoS and Enclave have made use and repaired seemingly endless amounts of vertibirds and even a damn airship, yet most factions don't. The NCR would be a perfect candidate for an Air Force, or shall I say, BEAR force, yet they only have one functioning vertibird for carrying President Crocker. Why doesn't the NCR fix up jets, or even build planes. Even if they don't have the know how to fix old jets, can't they build simpler planes such are monoplanes or even Biplanes? Biplanes or monoplanes could be easily manufactured with a superpower the size of the NCR.

Tl:dr - why isn't there a Bear Force or Legion Airforce?

In fallout 4,why does the world look like the bombs were dropped yesterday?

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 11:44 AM PDT

I just finished fallout 4 this weekend,it's my first fallout game. I honestly find it odd how 200 years after the bombs dropped-according to the game's story at least, the world seems like the nukes were just dropped. What I mean is,how come Concord for example, still has fucking skeletons laying around and wrecked cars. While the buildings are mostly not heavily damaged. Radiation levels wouldn't be so high by the 2200s and you would think either people would move in and settle in the city and repair it,or scavange everything like metal parts and wheels of cars, even cement, and every interior basically. But instead Concord looks like it might have been evucated very recently. It seems like the only people you encounter while traveling the wasteland are bandits. Where are all the regular folks and settlers? They only live in very small groups that are isolated. Why are there still skeletons and an abundance of 200 yo cars and people living in fucking trashcans instead of even-idk,wood cabins? I think the setting should have been like 2090 or something by the way the world looks. The Great War was devastating but seriously in 200 years it just doesn't make any sense at all that literally nothing has changed since the day the bombs hit. Hiroshima took a nuke about 80 years ago and it's mostly fine now so why not Boston? And yeah I realize Japan wasn't totally annihilated but still-I doubt there would be literally ZERO progress in 200 years.
