Why does the east coast seem so much more uncivil?

I've had the question for a while but on the west cities and towns are organized and are starting up new powers as early as 2100s but on the east it seems like the bombs just dropped since everything is so unlooted and towns are made of the crap littering the ground instead of the buildings and power of people like NCR, House and even th legion to an extent. Was the east just hit harder so it's harder for powers to form?

What exactly is included in the GECK, and how does it work?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2020 01:24 AM PDT

I've played FO3 onwards, and while the GECK features in those games, I have heard it is used in one of the earlier two games to actually rebuild a society. So what is actually IN the kit, and how is it used?

In the Fallout game we have bullets that still shoot very well after 200 years, but Is this plausible?

Which power armor is the cononical armor?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2020 12:52 AM PDT

In Fallout 3 and New Vegas power armor is worn as if it were just normal pieces of armor. But in fallout 4 and 76 it is bulkier and you climb into it. So which power armor is the true power armor?

    Implications of Cut NCR Content

    Posted: 04 Jul 2020 01:36 PM PDT

Recently, I stumbled across this video detailing the amount of content cut from New Vegas during its development. While there are some pieces of cut content I'm sure we'd all have been interested to see in game (particularly the post-game-end quests), I am relieved they didn't take the game down the direction they could have gone with scenes like 3:20 in, where NCR soldiers murder wastelanders for drinking water from Lake Las Vegas.

I almost feel as though the game dodged a narrative-design choice bullet, where you have scenes and conflicts like these that are essentially "gritty for grittiness' sake" takes on what wasteland living would or could be like. The themes and arguments for and against each faction are presented by the game in their strongest way possible (with the exception of Legion, which didn't get the content it deserved) and I think this would have been interfered with severely if they had made the NCR appear more obviously tyrannical than they currently appear.

Though I could go off on a longer ramble about what I believe the developers' intentions with the themes and design of New Vegas were, I'll leave it at this: cutting scenes like these out of the game made for a stronger narrative with more challenging and controversial themes. The player is intended to sympathize with the NCR and the plight of its troopers and citizens - New Vegas with its DLC is a far more powerful piece of art this way.

In my opinion, of course. I know Fallout means a lot of different things to a lot of different people so maybe you'd be more or less dissatisfied if any of that content was added than I would be. I'm interested to hear your thoughts! I'm thinking about writing down my theory on New Vegas and its themes alongside the developers' intent/execution, so if anyone wanted to share their analysis of cut content and what it means (or of NV in general) I'd love to see it.
