Why pre war cash and gold are still valuable in the Fallout world

One pre war cash worth about 8 caps and a Gold bar Is worth about 450 caps (according Fallout 4). Why they are still that valuable in a post apocaliptyc world?

    Pre-war Fallout events and analysis

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 11:47 PM PDT

Hello, what is up folks. I have 2 lore related questions today. All are pre-war.

    1) What were the sole survivors aka Nate and Nora doing at the time when Chinese folks in Boston were being shoved onto buses and taken to internment camps? I was reading through Kim Wu's journal entry and don't recall seeing a date anywhere or I may have missed it and not noticed.

    2) In Point Lookout, it appears a Chinese spy named Wan Yang was arrested and taken to a detention facility where she mysteriously died. The wiki says she died while in custody. Question is, did they beat her to death during interrogation as the cause of her death is not mentioned anywhere?

Why so dim light at McCarran?

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 06:06 AM PDT

Something that bothers me is the light palette used in McCarran (I'm colorblind f*ck) I'm wondering if theres a lore explanation of because they use that dim light

I don't think before the war airports used that type of ilumination
