Between Fallout 3, New Vegas, 4, and 76, which game had the best main menu theme?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 03:35 PM PST

My personal favorite was 76 for how lively and adventurous it is.

    Honest opinion on Fallout 4?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 07:54 PM PST

Personally, as my first fallout game, it was pretty good. Yes, the story is fairly generic and the characters are pretty forgettable (except for core characters) but the combat system has definitely upgraded since Fallout 3. It's also just fun to scavenge and find cool weapons , armour , and other neat items. So that's my short opinion on Fallout 4. What's yours?

help for fallout new vegas one fps/black screen after loading?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 01:27 AM PST

I recently tried to get back into fallout new vegas. after loading a save I was stuck at one frame per second, so I'd quit and loaded a different save to be met with a black screen. Since then I have gotten rid of all my mods, uninstalled and reinstalled fallout NV 3 times (going so far as to manually check for any residual files) and rolled back my drivers to before the issue occurred. has anyone else come across this issue before? any help would be appreciated.

for anyone who might need specs:

gpu: 1050 notebook (laptop rig lmao)

    cpu: i7 7700

    16 gigs ram

also, new vegas is on a hard drive if that helps

What’s the fastest way to level up in fallout 4

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 01:50 AM PST

Quick question: What's the heroic song that plays when you sacrifice yourself in the good ending of Fallout 3?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 07:11 PM PST

For people who played New Vegas at release without any mods and fixes, how do you honestly rate it from 1 to 10?

Fallout 4 (Possible Spoilers) Does Completing Burning Cover Make You an Enemy of The Brotherhood of Steel?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 09:48 PM PST

I just got banished from the institute and got "Burning Cover" and I wanted to know if completing Burning Cover makes you an enemy of the Brotherhood of Steel? If it doesn't, which quest does for the railroad does? So I can avoid it.

What do you guys think of Nuka World now?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 09:45 PM PST

On my current playthrough of Fallout 4 I find myself enjoying Nuka World a lot more than I did when it first launched. I really like Porter Gage as a companion. I do like the aesthetic of the different gangs particularly the pack and disciples. And I really love the idea of a derelict theme park being a stronghold for people during the Apocalypse which makes sense to me actually. I just wish it fit into the main story better though. I really would love to go take the fight to the Institute with the Raiders and the Brotherhood too. All in all I do really like the new weapons and armor and gameplay mechanics. What do you guys thing? I'm looking forward to your opinions thanks for reading.

    I have two questions

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 01:07 AM PST

So first off I wanna play fallout 76 again but every time I do I get bored and burnt out and I think the reason is that I have a hard time leveling up and therefor I don't get the excitement of progression and fighting stronger enemies so I wanted to ask if there's any tips to help me progress and just have fun over all

[XB1] So I'm trying to install the Sim's Settlement Conquorer Atoms liberation faction pack and I have all the pre required mods but its telling me it cant install it because its it relies on files not there.

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 08:51 PM PST

Any solution? I have no idea what could be missing. The mod author never included its requirements in the description. I have workshop framework and everything else required.

Time to choose: BoS or The Institute in Fallout 4 [Spoilers Included]

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 12:25 AM PST

I picked up Fallout 4 recently (My first real Fallout game) and after 100+ hours (because I love side quests and the awesome weaponry that can be found there), I'm finally at the point of having to choose between Bos or The Institute.

I like BoS because they gave me a powersuit and the comradery but I was hell bent on destroying the institute after they took my kid but now after I learned [Spoiler Alert] that my baby is now running it and wants my help in leading it, I'm conflicted. Yeah they kidnapped him, and he released me from the cryotube as a sort of experiment and they used him for research, but they also provided a safe environment for him and he's running it now, and is wanting to pass it onto me.

I've seen other posts that people picked the BoS because of Fallout 3, and since I haven't played FO3, I don't have that biases.

Do I choose to follow an authoritarian regime who helped me get inside of the institute (they also believe bringing peace to the commonwealth through force) or do I side with the organization that stole my child but is ran by my son now (and will pass on the reigns to me after his death, they also don't much care for the commonwealth)? This is a dilemma I hadn't thought I'd encounter before in a game, I thought I'd steal my son away and live in Sanctuary after I destroyed the institute but now...

I did look over the weaponry and apparel of each side but didn't see anything of interest other than what I've already bought from them. I do intend (if I do go with the institute) to lock pick the armory on the Prydwen and steal the mini nuke and armor in the background if i decided to side with the institute. Or if I sided with BoS, I would shoot my son as I could see that he died the day that they took him away from me.

What ending felt more satisfying for you all?

I'm in need of some fashion advice.

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 03:30 AM PST

The Second Battle of Hoover Dam is fast approaching and I'm having some trouble choosing the right outfit for whenever I butcher all of the Legion scum that I encounter in the name of the New California Republic.

On the one hand, there's the Gannon Family Tesla Armor. It's not only the absolute best set of armor in the game, offering superb protection from literally anything and everything that the game can throw at me, but is also a gift from one of my closest friends and companions, Arcade Gannon. It just wouldn't feel right not wearing it after a friend of mine bestowed it upon me for this very occasion.

On the other hand, there's the Courier's Duster that I just got after completing the Lonesome Road DLC. It's not only extremely bad-ass and ridiculously awesome to look at, but it also bears the banner of the NCR, the very flag and idea that I fight and bleed for. It would feel so amazing to sport the symbol of my nation going into the absolute largest battle that's ever been fought in post-apocalyptic history. May not be as good as the Gannon Family Tesla Armor but it definitely vastly surpasses it in terms of looks and all-around bad-assery.

So which should I choose: substance or style? Close friend or home country?

So, I haven't played Fallout 4 for almost the whole year of 2019, came back now and I'm seeing super mutant goons? And fat raiders? Is this from an update or have I just downloaded some mods that added those npcs?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 06:22 AM PST

I got around to converting my Fallout 3 mod Rebuild the Capital for Tales of Two Wastelands in Fallout New Vegas.

Here is the link for the TTW Edition:

    https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/68030

Here is the link for the Fo3 edition:

    https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/23781

(Note the TTW edition includes new bug fixes and content not currently included in the older Fo3 edition)

    Description of the mod:

This mod allows the Brotherhood to establish outposts across the wasteland and establish a presence in settlements all under the guidance of the Lone Wanderer. It also adds new armors, weapons, quests, NPCs, and a new recruitment system for recruiting squads to follow you on your exploits in the wasteland.

Fallout NV: Best mid-level perks for story progression

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 01:38 PM PST

My first playthrough (and it is fucking awesome!). I'm level 26, and have been focusing nearly all of my attributes toward story progression. I've made sure to have Intelligence, increase Speech and other story essentials to 100, and have gotten Perks like Black Widow, etc.

What is an essential perk for story progression? It is more important to me to have dialogue options/choices than to have Rifle/Pistol/Energy weapon finesse.

    Thanks!

    I've been re-trying FO76, and I'm glad I did

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 04:24 PM PST

TLDR: I gave FO76 a new shot and its fun to play from an online survival point of view. Tell me your thoughts

I originally purchased fallout 76 at launch; and was utterly disappointed. I returned it pretty much immediately and forgot about it. Until I noticed my local video game store selling a copy for under $10. I thought why not, and I'm so glad I gave it another chance. I really fell in love with Fallout in a whole new way.

I thoroughly believe that if Toddboy and Bethesda had pitched this game as an obvious spinoff, or even just named in "Fallout Online" it would have been received a lot better. In many ways, it feels very similar to ESO online, with a fallout reskin. This isn't a bad thing.

The most fun I've really had in this game is just the pure survival and base building aspects. (eat, drink, sleep, explore, loot, build). With the addition of vendors as well, this has made the game nearly entirely playable as just an online survival game - this is how I've been playing it for the last 20ish hours, and it's been a blast. I highly recommend this playstyle. Treat it similar to a game like Rust and it's brilliant.

I urge everyone to at least give this game another go if you find it cheap, its most definitely worth it. A year since launch it has honestly gotten a lot better. I'd love to hear some updated thoughts about the game if you've given it a shot recently.
