Played New Vegas many times. JSawyer mod is making me really experience it for the first time. Posted: 14 Dec 2019 09:26 AM PST You probably know what the JSawyer mod is but in case you don't, basically one of the guys in charge of making New Vegas made a mod for the game that makes New Vegas more the way he wanted it to be. It changes a lot of aspects of the game, mostly in favor of making the game harder though not every last change is like that (for example, armor is more protective now though you have less hit points). One of the changes brings me to the point of my post. Sawyer removes the starting gear you get from DLCs and distributes it among containers throughout the wasteland. So you basically get a Vault Suit, a 9mm gun, some ammo, and a few stimpacks when you leave Doc Mitchell's house. No water no food and since JSawyer is meant to be played on Hardcore mode, that's a problem. So that's where I've been, a helpless idiot in a bright blue jumpsuit for the first time out of all my New Vegas playthroughs. I knew if I left Goodsprings like this, I'd never survive. So I did everything I could in Goodsprings, squeezed every advantage I could think of. Explored every nook and cranny, looted everything. Begged, borrowed, negotiated, did favors and stole (I'm going to pay for that because good karma is harder to come by with this mod). By the time I finished, I looked like this. https://imgur.com/a/ij0hnVv A properly equipped and somewhat hardened wastelander. And you know what? It actually felt kind of like an accomplishment. The game made me earn my actual starting gear. Not the stuff Doc Mitchell gave me but the stuff I gathered in Goodsprings. I was adventuring to build my starting character. This is Fallout New Vegas the way it was meant to be played. Though I'm playing JSawyer Ultimate Edition. A continuation by a fan. [link] [comments]

(Unpopilar opinion) New Vegas sounds better in spanish. Posted: 14 Dec 2019 06:21 AM PST Ok, first of all I should make it clear that I do like the english voices, since they are the originals and that most people never heard the spanish voices, so I understand all disagreements with me. Having said this, I'll explain further. See, when i first played I had no choice than to play it in spanish (which is not a problem consdering Im argentinian) so I got used to those voices. Then, last year, I re-played it, again in spanish. Finally, Im doing another run, this time in english and, to be honest, must the voices felt like they lack emotion. I feel like everyone speaks in the same tone, and are basically dead inside. Dont get me wrong, the voices itself are amazing, its the voice acting that doesnt convince me. And then there is Mr. New Vegas. I didn't realize he sounded like an old man!. Sure, he is still charismatic af but I was used to the deeper, neater sounding voice of the spanish dub. Way more seductive too really. Anyways, I strongly reccomend you try the game in spanish for a few minutes, play the beggining and listen to Radio New Vegas for a while to see what you think. Shouldnt take you more than 20 mins and im sure you already know how to do goodsprings even if you dont get a word they are saying [link] [comments]

Atomic + rad child + 999 rads + early bird trait = op Posted: 13 Dec 2019 02:04 PM PST I can regenerate 8 hp per second, and get from no ap to max in like 4 seconds. Early bird counteracts most of the effects besides the -1 endurance but come on. [link] [comments]

Anyone know of a mod that adds small markers to the compass of dead things? Posted: 13 Dec 2019 04:34 PM PST Kind of like in Read Dead Redemption, but instead of an x on a minimap, it would be something on the compass. [link] [comments] |
