Why does Moe Cronin in Diamond City know literally nothing about baseball?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 02:24 PM PDT

I understand that many people in the wasteland have little to no idea what pre-war life was like; but you'd think a self proclaimed baseball fanatic would understand the sport a little bit more than he does.

Diamond City Guards wear catchers padding, and from my experience never buy into this barbaric idea of baseball (or at least never mention it)

Even living in a literal ballpark with bases, dugouts, and clubhouses with showers in them, Moe cannot put two and two together. The sole survivor can literally explain the rules of baseball through dialogue and fail to penetrate his ego.

From what source is he getting this confidence? Is it the institute messing with people? Is he a fucking lunatic and nobody actually believes him?

Edit: Ive just remembered Deacon mentions he could have "gone pro" upon discovering a basketball court. Clearly these individuals know WHAT pre war sports were, and we can assume they knew the rules. My conclusion is that moe is a moron.

What really are The Family in Fallout 3?

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 02:54 AM PDT

Now in the days of original Fallout 3, I always assumed they weren't Vampires, but were a collection of oddballs who all had a common interest in drinking blood, similar to a cannibal cult or something.

However, in later games like Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, there is a lot more supernatural things going on, so my questions is what do we know about 'The Family', are they Vampires, or just weirdos or what?

Also what makes it more interesting, is that they teach you a perk about how to absorb more health from bloody bags.

Also do we know why they were hassling Arefu in the first place? was it to draw out a new member or do they get something else from it?

Why does Caesar let his legion act like savages?

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 10:43 AM PDT

Caesar, or Edward as I should call him is an incredibly smart person, grew up with the followers, likely understands medical treatments as good as standard old world doctors did. So why does he let his legion act like savages, treating women like shit, making his legion be a slave trading nation, crucifying and putting heads on pikes of and so on and so forth. Caesar should know better than to let his legion be literally a faux Roman Empire treating him like he were the real Julius Caesar.

What would happen if a ghoul was exposed to FEV

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 11:11 AM PDT

I have thought about this for awhile and I can't come up with an answer. At first I looked at Harold and him being a different mutant, but he did just get splashed like it says in game. So, the best I can come come up with is that the ghoul would die because just like the super mutant sperm and egg cells the ghouls cells would be damaged so the FEV would destroy them.
I would like to know what you guys think about my question, all feedback in appreciated

How much do Super Mutants know about the Institute?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 06:43 PM PDT

People get kidnapped and brought to the Institute, are experimented on with FEV, then dumped back into the wasteland. At no point is it ever mentioned if they get their memories wiped or if the Institute is even capable of wiping non-synth brains. What's more, when a synth escapes the Institute, they can't remember various things about the Institute. This is because of their synth brains and safety measures the Institute programmed into them. But are they able to do the same thing to Super Mutant brains? Mutants don't have synth components or anything; they aren't synthetic at all, just normal, converted humans. So is it even possible for the Institute to install these failsafes in mutants? If not, does that mean Super Mutants are aware that they were bumped out of the Institute via teleportation? Are they aware that the Institute is located underground? Do they have knowledge of BioScience, and to what extent? Are they even aware that it was the Institute that made them? They retain their memory of how they were created, seeing as they scour the Commonwealth searching for more FEV to create more of their kind.

Basically, I'm curious just how much Super Mutants know about the Institute. Having a conversation with a Super Mutant would be... a bit hard... seeing as they'd be trying to kill you... But assuming you could sit down and talk with one, just how much intel would they be able to give on the Institute?

Is every computer in fallout a thin client? Does the internet exist?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 01:58 PM PDT

In every fallout game, terminals seem to be thin clients. That is that they lack an operating system, but instead have a Small network loading software pavkage, that pulls what it needs down from a main server machine in order to function.

All the screens in fallout seem to be monochromic. I get that they tried to keep the retro 50s look. But it doesnt seem possible to have such advanced robots such as synths if this were the case for all machines.

How does anyone write programs? Do they have to make their own compilers? Or does the internet or something similar to it exist in fallout?

Who is Responsible for the Bitter Springs Massacre?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 09:56 AM PDT

I was browsing around on the fallout wiki and noticed that it linked the Major in charge of the Bitter Springs Massacre (BSM) to Captain Gilles (NCR CO of the Bitter Springs Refugee Camp). Never heard this before and I consider myself particularly well versed in Lore (particularly FO:NV).

Looking around the end slide of Boones Vengeful Ending depicts him killing the NCR CO in charge of the BSM, and looking closely it does look like Gilles. However it could be just a place holder and not meant to be interpreted literally. The game (to my knowledge) never addresses it flat out, which is odd because it would require a demotion (From Major Gilles to Capt Gilles) and that may not be obvious (although certainly understandable after that disaster) since its obscured lore-wise.

Is this widely accepted and I just missed it?

Why do the bathroom doors in the General Atomics Factory pull in?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 01:41 PM PDT

in Fallout 4 the bathroom doors in the General Atomics Factory pull into the stall. If I recall this does not take place anywhere else, is there a lore reason for this or am I just grabbing at straws?
