This may have been discussed to death on other forums, but I'm terrible at locating that stuff, and besides, I like talking about it, not just reading what's already out there. So:

Where exactly is the Sierra Madre located?

Other DLC locations are a little easier to place. Zion is a known real world location in Utah, and it's roughly to the north of the Mojave, which makes sense in game--you leave from the Northern Passage to get there. The Divide is west of the Mojave, north of the part of the Long 15 that connects to California. Big MT is also supposedly somewhere to the west, despite its DLC beginning at the southern edge of the Mojave map; it's debatable where exactly it is, but it doesn't matter much, because you teleport to and from it.

I admit my question is a little misleading; we have an idea of where the Sierra Madre is. It's reportedly somewhere near the Grand Canyon (according to the wiki, the Dead Money opening begins with a slide of the Grand Canyon, then transitions to one of the Sierra Madre). So really what I'm asking is, how can it be there, and still have the DLC's events take place? The Grand Canyon is deep in Legion territory. And yet, somehow they've never discovered or infiltrated it? They never show any sign of acknowledging it or knowing about it, even after you go there. They never use anything that originated there (you'd think the melee-loving Legion would at least find use for cosmic knives and knife spears). And more to the point, how does Dog successfully traverse the land between the Mojave and the Grand Canyon (potentially over 200 miles, depending on where exactly we're going, according to Google anyway--it's hard to get Google maps to calculate a direct route instead of a road route, so I'm going to err on the side of caution and say about 100 miles from Hoover Dam to Grand Canyon National Park)? There's a load of space in which he should get intercepted by the Legion. If the NCR can't get troops across, it ought to be a given that the Legion would detect an insane super mutant carrying an unconscious human--and apparently Dog has done this several times, based on in-game dialogue.

It seems to be a quite general consensus that Veronica is one of, if not the best comapanion in the game and I honsetly feel like that was by choice in some sorts by obidian. The BoS is a dangerous faction to keep alive in the wasteland but I have honestly let them live just so I don't break Veronica's heart. and lose her as a companion and friend. I find that fascinating
